Have started adding products to my site www.nzelectroniccigarette.com Just wanted to let you know that I really love this template, so many useful features added like text widget, side banner etc. This theme would even suite any corporate ecommerce website.

Well done guys :)

Hi 2schaa,

thanks very much for your purchase and I’m glad you like it!

Kind regards, Aldema

When do you expect a fix for the payment templates?? As it is now, the checkout process can’t be completed because your theme isn’t compatible with the default payment modules.

aldema

Hi philbydevil,

first of all thanks for your purchase.

During week-end we don’t offer support, however I don’t understand your problem, what mean?

Please contact with private message.

Thanks, Aldema

I have a feeling it might be to do with my language file… won’t be able to check it for a few days though. Are all of the payment methods working in your installation?

We apologize for the lack of replies during the last days, our dev team couldn’t be on due to personal problems.

All emails has been just replied.

Hi, I just bought your theme – I want to just check whether the theme is compatible with 1.5.2.1 as well

aldema

Hi saahigoel, thanks for your purchase. No, the theme supports OC 1 .5.4.1 and higher.

Regards, Aldema

Hi Aldema,

Unfortunately I have OC 1 .5.2.1 that I have already customized for my use- so it’s impossible to move to a newer version.

Can you possibly tell me how to make it work with 1.5.2.1?

Or potentially issue a refund? Since otherwise it will be of no use to me.

My fault- should’ve checked BEFORE I ordered. Sorry.

aldema

Hi Saahilgoel,

thanks for your purchase

I’m sorry but LINEAR don’t support OC 1 .5.2.1 version and we can’t refund you, because is not expected by the policy of ThemeForest.

I suggested to you to install the latest version (for security reasons). When you have installed the latest version of your OpenCart, we could help you with all details. I suggest updating your OpenCart, because security in a store is the most ‘important thing (although you’ll have to create new changes).

Kind regards, Aldema

Hi, I had bought this theme a month before and I have been testing it on my local development machine. I find that in ‘related products’ for some of the product I only see Just price nothing else.

Secondly in ‘Grid’ form of the products sometimes find some incomplete rows. For example if there are 3 products per row in the grid matrix, some rows may have just 2 or 1 product.

leaving above mentioned two issues aside , Today after a month time of purchase I re-downloaded the theme, Would I get all the updates That are listed under ’ Updates ‘

Thanks and awaiting your reply.

aldema

Hi, thanks for your purchase.

Can you please provide your site’s url for each listed error?

We just submitted another update, as soon as it’s approved by themeforest staff it will be available for download. Please check again the errors after updating the theme.

Hi I don´t know why, but can´t restore my password.. I received email with link for creating new password, but then I´m always redirected into log-in page, not on page where I can make new pass.. So I change pass in Php my admin, but It still doesn´t work.. phpmydmin>database>user> then I replace original with this 5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99 (password). Then I tryed this http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=15626 but this also doesn´t work.. Any help? Thanks.

aldema

Hi Slavikz, thanks for your purchase. I’m sorry but that doesn’t depend on the template. I don’t know how to help. Does it work with the old password?

hi, i installed your theme “as the demo site”. Now I can’t access Extensions > Modules > Control Panel to edit. It says Permission Denied!

Hi,

I’ve just installed the template however the images aren’t showing (http://www.liveperfect.co.uk/Tables) – do you know what the issue is? The JS files are installed..

i have also installed your controller > common > header and footer files to see if that made any difference but it didn’t. I’ve had to remove them since because they were interfering with other themes..

Thanks

David

aldema

Hi DDTrading, thanks for your purchase.

Images are not the only issue there. Looks like some variables are missing, due to the controller thing. You should customize those files only if you really need to and I suggest you to follow this (chapter 21):

http://www.aldemastudio.com/template/Linear/OC1531/Documentation/#how21

You cannot just remove controller files without putting the needed lines of code of our theme in YOUR controller files.

However as exaplained in the documentation:

“ALDEMA STUDIO RECOMMENDS TO USE THIS THEME ON A CLEAN INSTALLATION OR EXISTING SHOPS WITHOUT CUSTOM CORE MODIFICATIONS !”

Consider re-installing OpenCart and then importing your existing product/categories directly in the database. It requires some basic skills with sql.

Regards, Aldema

Bit of a noob question but do I replace/add all the files from the theme folder or do I add the actual folders to the sever and overwrite the current ones?

Default-user

So overwrite the current admin, catalog, image folders or merge them with the current folders on the server?

thanks

Default-user

Sorted :)

aldema

Glad you solved :)

Hi Aldema,

Thanks for the response.

I can sort out the undefined variables etc. however that’s not causing the image issue. Does your theme modify any other core files other than the footer / header?

I’d rather not set it up on a separate installation for various reasons.

Many thanks

Hi Aldema,

Don’t worry about the above – I’ll just do a fresh install..

aldema

Hi DDTrading, ok.

Regards, Aldema

Hi – Would it be possible to remove checkout or redirect to shopping cart when checkout is clicked? Does this theme have a blog or would you be willing to include for a fee?

aldema

Hi thepostdesign, no, unfortunately checkout cannot be skipped. It’s how OpenCart works.

Also, the theme doesn’t have a blog.

Regards, Aldema

Hi Aldema,

Just added Linear theme to a fresh install and the images still aren’t working.

Do you know why this is?

Thanks

I notice in your demo you don’t try and retrieve the images via ”/catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=filename.jpg” – has this been tested?

Thanks

aldema

Hi DDTrading, it’s not how the timthumb works. It cannot show images via that url.

It works this way:

http://www.aldemastudio.com/template/Linear/OC1531/catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=image/data/prodotto-14big.jpg&h=144&w=194&zc=1

Anyway if you just mean that you see BLANK images that’s perfectly normal. -> http://www.aldemastudio.com/template/Linear/OC1531/Documentation/#install2

“Step 5: Linear is now ready to use. Obviously you’ll see white images, since demo sites photos are not included. Do all the changes you need to setup your shop properly: rename categories, add new ones, rename, remove or add products and so on.”

Regards, Aldema

Hi Aldema,

The images are there to be found however your template tries to retrieve them via ”/catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=filename.jpg”

see: http://www.deki.co.uk/Chairs

Is this a bug?

Thanks

aldema

Hi, I really don’t understand what you’re trying to say, sorry.

1) that path is WRONG . Timthumb will never work without the complete code and the complete code needs also the thumb dimensions and crop type attached to the file name. This means that the proper URL would be something like: http://www.yoursitename.com/template/Linear/OC1531/catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=image/data/IMAGENAME.jpg&h=144&w=194&zc=1 where 144 and 194 are the image’s dimensions. I still don’t understand what the error is, however, and why you’re talking about images’ urls. Please, be more detailed about the error you get. Do you see images?

2) I see the images on your site properly, there are no errors.

3) If you’re just asking why our template retrieves some images with that code the answer is: because some images need to be cropped so the theme uses a script to do it.

Regards, Aldema

Hi Aldema,

You may not have seen my first post but I’m not seeing the images.

Oddly though i’ve just clicked on the site after you said you could see the images and, after a while, they did appear on the category page; however when I clicked through to the product page they don’t appear, and the image src goes back to trying to retrieve it via /catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=filename.jpg.

This is a snippet of the generated html on the product page:

<!— img src=”catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=http://www.deki.co.uk/image/cache/data/feblands/Anderson-Dining-Chair-350x350.jpg&h=242&w=292&zc=1" alt=”Anderson Dining Chair” width=”292” height=”242” title=”Anderson Dining Chair” style=”opacity: 0.5; ”> —>

Any thoughts?

Thanks

aldema

Okay, I’ve finally understood.

1) Regarding the old question about the url retrieved from catalog/etc: No that was not a bug. The theme retrieves images that way, but you cannot see those images if you right click -> open them because the browser opens a relative path. So it’s normal that this:

catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=http://www.deki.co.uk/image/cache/data/heartlands/Ancona-3-Piece-Suite-3-2-1-Seater-350x350.jpg&h=242&w=292&zc=1

gives an error page. Though it’s not normal that this doesn’t work either:

http://www.deki.co.uk/catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=http://www.deki.co.uk/image/cache/data/heartlands/Ancona-3-Piece-Suite-3-2-1-Seater-350x350.jpg&h=242&w=292&zc=1

For example, on our server:

- relative url from the product page, not working:

http://catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=http://www.aldemastudio.com/template/Linear/OC1531/image/cache/data/prodotto-14big-800x800.jpg&h=800&w=800&zc=1

- absolute url (I’ve completed it manually – the browser does it automatically), working:

http://www.aldemastudio.com/template/Linear/OC1531/catalog/view/javascript/timthumb/timthumb.php?src=http://www.aldemastudio.com/template/Linear/OC1531/image/cache/data/prodotto-14big-800x800.jpg&h=800&w=800&zc=1

On your server, instead, the absolute url doesn’t work either. It looks like the timthumb script isn’t working on your server. Unfortunately I can’t do much about it, since it’s not a bug of the theme but a server issue. Try reading here the server part (permissions, etc)

http://www.binarymoon.co.uk/2010/11/timthumb-hints-tips/

Also, are there cache files in the cache directory? If it’s empty, it can probably be due to a permission issue.

Hope this helps,

Regards, Aldema
