Hi Mixey,

I added the code, and it looks great on the homepage (it’s centered)... but now when I click an individual blog post, the posts are centered but the left sidebar is stacked on top. Is there a way to keep the left sidebar where it should be… on the left?

Thanks,

-A.

Nevermind – I followed these instructions and everything turned out alright:

“It’s probably because your resolution is 1024px? I’ve designed this theme for the larger screens, but to fix this all you need to do is alter one line in css Line 249: .single_post, .single_page { background-color:#FFFFFF; margin:0 0 15px 0; padding:15px; width:69%; /* MAKE THIS 65 % */ }”

One thing to note, Mixey, is that my monitor’s resolution is 1440×900. It’s nowhere close to 1024×768 and yet I was having the placement issues of smaller resolutions. Any ideas why?

Thanks,

-A.

Hi Mixey, I have a question.

Can you add “Posted by : Username” on the top of the page where the post date and time is?

or can you point me to the right direction to add it?

Thanks a lot, and awesome work!

wpbakery

please open index.php file and insert by <?php the_author_posts_link(); ?> somewhere between lines 9-25

Hi there, loving the theme, great layout. Congrats.

Would I be able to use a line like in this site: http://www.meireundmeire.de/recent/

To run the whole way down my content columns with CSS ? I tried but it didn’t work.

Thanks.

Try settings greater value for the items to show. WP settings-> Reading and change there. Default is 10

Hi Mixey. Thanks for the reply. I didn’t mean to ask about displaying a number of posts on the front page.

My question was this-

if you look at the url i sent you in the previous comment, each column has a background of a line 1px solid. This is apparently achieved by making an extremely long .gif (1500px) image file and using it in the background, I want to create a similar effect with this template.

I disabled the background for the id: #grid-content div.post_float { and I am able to create a background for the #mainmargin but I am unable to find an id for the other columns to give them backgrounds (I am able to give a background to the grid content but not to the entire column).

Could you please explain to me the easiest way to do this. I hope my question is more clear this time. thanks

hi mixey

I am wanting to use some <?php the_meta(); ?> as a related post thumbnail rather than the default ‘no photo available’ when there are no attachments in the post.

$related_img_src = getAttachedImage($related_post->ID, “thumbnail”);

I have tried to create another ELSE statement but cant get it working with my basic php knowledge!

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks again for your superb support

jon

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Please take a look a the functions.php file lines 84-160 There are 2 functions that are used for rendering related items.

Canzei: If I understand you right, then I think the best way is to set a background for the #grid-content. Make a wide gif image and then set it to repeat-y; should do the trick i think

Hi Mixey!

I’ve purchased your very pretty theme a few days ago. It work’s very well but I have a problem, if I read a post or page with 1024 resolution screen, the post or page appear down of the left bar. I show you a example: http://geriatrics.brinkster.net/webs/temp/liquid-magazine_1024×768.jpg

Is there anyway for the post appear on the rignt? If it appear down sometimes the user doesn’t see the post. I think maybe to chanche somethig in the css but i don’t have knowlagge of this :(

Thanks!

wpbakery

1024×768 is rare screen resolution nowadays, However to adapt website for that resolution, please open main.css file locate under the css folder and look for the line number 249 .single_post, .single_page {

there is a css rule width:69%; try to decrease it, may be to 65 or 64 should do the trick for you

@oviliz: I’ve started to convert themes to be “translation ready”, but haven’t done it for the liquid magazine so far, if you need it. Please shot me a message after the purchases, I’ll speed up this process.

Hey Mixey,

It looks like the wp-prettyPhoto plug-in is breaks on WordPress v2.9.1. Unless… do you know a workaround that we don’t?

Also, is it possible to center the header and the footer, to match the content section??

Thanks,

-A.

wpbakery

prettyPhoto is already integrated in to the theme, you don’t need to install any additional plugin to make it work, simply add rel=”prettyPhoto” to the link. There are instructions about that in the help file.

If you’re having problems with the wp-prettyPhoto plug-in (like I was), you can easily install and use the Slimbox Plugin.

I did, and it works great!

Or.. here’s the solution to getting the WP-prettyPhoto plug-in to work:

Sorry for the thread spam… but I thought people would want to know.

Hi mixey, please speed up the “translation ready” process. :) I’m your fan now :D

Hi mixey, I have the “getimagesize” error and I find the solution in the help file. Anyway, I can allow the “url fopen” in my php.ini, like that: allow_url_fopen = on but.. this article, http://kb.mediatemple.net/questions/793/Why+is+allow_url_fopen+disabled+on+the+%28gs%29+Grid-Service%3F , alert me: “This workaround method should only be used as a temporary solution.”

So, I want to know what do you think? If I change the index.php with your suggest in that case, the theme lost something ?

(ps. sorry for my “English”) :)

wpbakery

No, you’ll not loose anything. It’s just that with the getimagesize thumbnails have width and height parameters.

Thanks mixey, I understand.

How proceed the “translation ready” process ? I wait that before proceed to modify some part of the theme. :)

I thought people might enjoy this tweak to the theme. You can add a ‘bump’ to the social icons with the following CSS :

.social a:hover { position: relative; top: 1px; left: 1px; }

When you mouse over the social icons at the bottom, it moves them one pixel down and one pixel to the right. It’s a fun motion effect. And I removed the black background in the process.

You can see it in action here: http://www.anseltaft.com/

I’ve been busy tweaking Mixey’s wonderful template for my own site’s needs. I also figured out how to add 3 more widget areas to an additional footer DIV (I called it the pre-footer :)). Email me from if you’d like HTML / CSS .

open4biz Purchased

EDIT :

.social a:hover img { position: relative; top: 1px; left: 1px; }

Sorry, but I had to tweak the code from the prior post because it was also bumping the ‘leave a comment’ link in the social section, too. Problem solved.

Hi Mixey,

I’d like to purchase your theme. I completely love the layout of your homepage. I have some questions before i purchase it. How difficult would it be to change the fonts, and the rollover color of the content boxes? Is it possible to have more than one image within the post? Is it easy to modify the size and placement of the images within the post? Is it possible to create pages rather than posts that the front page images link to? If so, would it be possible to use the same layout as homepage for other pages? Is it possible to move the sidebar to the right of the home page? And lastly, how difficult would it be to make the sidebar sticky so that it is always visible while the content of the page scrolls? I am so sorry to give you such a list of questions before purchase but I’d really love to use your template. I’d like to be certain that it will work for my portfolio. Thanks in advance for your response. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Love the theme – I’ll be buying it this weekend. One question right now—is it possible to have the home page display posts only from a featured category?

And this is more of a general wordpress question, but would it be possible to rig the home page to show Pages instead of posts? (I’m planning on using the theme for a website that displays a portfolio.)

Just wondering today. I can email more after purchase …
