I added an author who’s been writing articles for me. However, he seems to be unable to add links or embed videos from youtube in his articles… the code always gets stripped after he hits “Update”... is there a theme setting somewhere that would affect this or do I need to set permissions elsewhere in WP?

Visual mode is unavailable- when logged in as an author, clicking on the Visual tab in the editor doesn’t do anything.. when logged in as administrator, both visual and html modes are available.
I tested another theme- Visual and HTML modes are available for authors with the other theme… switched back to Local News and Visual is disabled again… not even “Categories” selection is available to the author anymore…
This started after upgrading by deleting & re-installing the theme… other problems appeared such as images not showing up on the home page (setting the shortcodes-ultimate/cache folder to 777 fixed this).

Make sure that theme files are located in wp-content/themes/localnews folder.
Also you can try to use this version of timthumb.

all files are in the template folder, we follow users manual to install it. I dont think is hosting issue as we have other sites with WP using timthumb and they work fine. We will try this http://www.letuslook.nl/blog/how-to-make-timthumb-work-in-wordpress-mu but what is the file we have to change?
dont we need a timthumb plugin to be installed n in the plug in section? user manual dont say nothing about that as well.

Hi, I recently purchased and installed the Local News theme and absolutely love it. However, I’m having problems with controlling where the content (articles) go when initially published.
Mainly, I’m talking about the featured post slider (the 4-article featured area on the top left).
Here are my issues:
1. when I publish a post, every time it goes directly to this slideshow AND anywhere else I direct it to go. I have control as to where it goes anywhere else EXCEPT whether or not I want it featured at the top left section.
2. I’ve looked high and low and looked through the shortcode options and still haven’t come up with an answer. is there a special code I have to place in a special spot in order to control where my content goes when first published?

I did not get it. After the installlation i make it look like the sample, but if i post new articles, the home is not be updadet. All the old posts are there, but not the new ones. What is my mistake?
You have to specify post category for the shortcode to display. Or, if you do not specify it all latest posts will be displayed.
Probably, now there are different categories specified which do not inlude your latest posts.

1. If you mean menu on top, you should set it as primary navigation in appearance->menus.
2. Please read page 7 of the user manual. You have to change category names in shortcodes to match your ones, if you have copied them from demo website content.

Hi once again, upon looking at the newly installed theme, I notice that my browser (Mozilla Firefox) keeps popping a message stating, “Install missing plugin”. I have not seen this message in the preview of the theme even when using the same browser.
I also noticed that the theme is not picking the settings from the ThemeOptions page. I cant seem to get the default header image to load and appear on the theme, the background color of the website is not changing and remains as white even after changing that in the ThemeOptions page. Kindly assist me with this soon. I had send you an email earlier with the website URL as well as the WP-ADMIN access details.

Thanks for the quick response, I have disabled the plugin and all seems to be fine apart from the Missing Plugin Error that I keep getting. It is still appearing and is there anyway of getting my theme to have the right side bar appear like yours? They are not showing even after including them from the widget section.

Not sure about plugin problem with FF, maybe it is related to flash content, if you have copied flash banner?
Your page have custom siderar activated, you have to place wodgets to that new widget area. Or disable custom sidebar for this page.

And where can i find shortcodes man i tried to make an article then i tried to use shortcodes tab and that’s what i got : “[menu name=”International” style=”1”]” when i published the article nothing happened.
What i meant is to change the menu in body in home page “HOT News, News, Business News, Sport News, Most Commented”
It is done in appearance->menus and has nothing to do with shortcodes. Please read user manual page 7.

Hi friend. I have a doubt that it is on the home page there is a box, a session that is written “more news and articles”, this session is divided into three first frames are the categories and the other three in posts. FYI img{max-width:100%;} on line 51 of style.css is driving google map api crazy, it is manipulating the google map background images and icons, it works fine wen we comment it.
