Hello, for some reason my top and bottom menu is not displaying correctly. The top is only displaying on of the menu items and the bottom has the menu pages stacked instead of side by side.

Not sure what is wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok seems to have something to do with IE on my computer. Displays properly on Chrome and on IE on other computers.

FamousThemes

Hi,

It depends a lot of the IE version you have. I guess your version is diferent from other one.

This theme works only on the new versions of IE, where the media queries are accepted too, because the theme is responsive.

So I suggest use a newer version of IE, or do not use it at all :)

Regards.

Hi and thanks for posting back, but still no luck on the big issue – the photo gallery.

My main issue now is getting the photo gallery to load properly – here’s what it looks like now

http://cathleenandhoward.com/?page_id=21#

I’ve confirmed from both ways that permissions are working, and they are set at 755. I’ve created categories and uploaded photos under, as well as clicked on categories for existing photos.

The categories are now showing – but still, nothing in the photo sections – and no thumbnails.

One of your last posts said to confirm that the timthumb works – so I tried this: (not found on any of my page codes, just followed your model and insert a photo that I confirmed I’d already added)

http://cathleenandhoward.com/marriage-wordpress/wp-content/themes/marriage/scripts/timthumb.php/?src=http://cathleenandhoward.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Cashel-House-Hotel-Welcome-2424.jpg

Also, I confirmed that the URL for each photo is correctly noted in a few places, so that’s working.

When I pull up the source code for the photo gallery, I can’t see ONE of my photos noted – so no url with an actual photo.

If you could advise exactly what html to insert and where, it’d be a pain but I could do that – I think.

Or is it possible to send me a corrected php file that I could overwrite to the one that is missing something?

To your comment about people buying themes already being wordpress users, I’d suggest that for situations like a marriage or baby that won’t be completely true. I think people at certain times of their lives, like getting married, do things they don’t normally do – including building a web site for the first time :)

Thanks for your help – it can’t come a moment too soon! :) Cat

FamousThemes

Hi Cat,

Timthumb is working great, you are right, there are no problem there.

The problem on the gallery page is quite strange. Like you said “When I pull up the source code for the photo gallery, I can’t see ONE of my photos noted – so no url with an actual photo.”

I have also looke into the source code of the page and notice there is no actual code of the image. That is very strange, it should be there.

I think there is no reason for me to ask : I guess you have added photos when created this page using the FEATURED IMAGE option and link from the right sidebar. So when adding a new item in the Photo album, to add the photo you need to use the Featured image link and upload it. Do not insert the image in the post editor.

Let me know if this is how you added them.

Another ideea of why the gallery is not working, if your setup is allright with the above observations, are the extra plugins you have added. Notice also in the source code you are using a lot of plugins like wp-easy-gallery and fancybox…. Those are no needed because prettyphoto is used allready in the theme. So make a simple test and deactivate for a minute all the plugins and test the gallery page.

Love the theme – using for my wedding in April. :-)

I’m still laying groundwork and you can see it here…

http://www.yogadivajazzbrew.com

I am having a hard time with the thumbnail URLs in the About and Custom Text widgets… I have pasted this in the Thumb URL as a test…

http://www.jazzbrew.com/images/crowleyinterview.jpg

but the image won’t appear. The link is valid and the image is present. Can you help? Thanks in advance.

FamousThemes

Hi,

I can see with other images you don’t have any problem using them in the custom widgets.

The problem is to use the images from your own server. Just add the image to your wordpress Media section, and after the url of the image from your server location, and it will work. It’s just a security issues with timthumb using images from another server location.

Hi,

There seems to be an issue with my css?

Hover links to page at bottom of template are showing as white rather than black with gold hover.

Can you please help.

FamousThemes

Hi,

For the footer menu, please go to Apearance -> Menus and select your ” Footer Menu” from the left sidebar “Theme locations”. A footer menu must be created, or use the same one as header menu. Right now you have the default one, and this why you got that links.

Also I can see you are using a custom text wiget on a bottom widget area and it’s not looking goode. Please use another widget there. Custom text widgets are only for the center area of the home page.

Three questions.

1. How can I get rid of the “read more” buttons in the custom about widget? 2. How can I find and add the icons ‘Wedding Video’, ‘Phone Reservation’, ‘Ceremony Location’, and ‘Guests Reservation’ found in the Our Wedding page of the theme preview? 3. Is there a specific widget you used for the RSVP contact form? I’m using the Jetpack Contact Form and, while it works, it’s not consistent with the visual identity of the theme.

Thanks. Just downloaded it yesterday – it’s working well so far.

FamousThemes

Hi,

1. For the first question please read the FAQ section of this item “How to remove/edit the “Read more” from home page widgets.”

2. They are free web icons. If you really want to use the one from our demo just copy them from there. Save them from the webpage with right click.

3. Yes I have written in the HELP file the name of the plugin used for the RSVP page. The contact page uses a custom form we have build.

Any contact form plugin will do the job if you are familiar with a specific one. But make sure it’s responsive (resize to mobile), because our theme is.

Hi Again -

Just read your recent suggestions – no, I didn’t add as a “featured item” – there weren’t any instructions so I didn’t know to do that. But I just tried it and STILL no gallery.

Also, I deactivated ALL any additional pluggin I grabbed a week ago when I thought maybe that would help – the photos still don’t show.

Your notes say you looked at the code, and you see there is NO actual code for my photos showing up – and that it’s weird -

UHGGGGG !

Could you perhaps send me a sample of what the code would look like if it did work? Perhaps I can manually go into the template and insert it?

Really stressed out – our Save the Date’s can’t go out until we have this web site up and running and I’ve spent at least 8 hours trying to get this darned photo album up – and waiting 2 days for your suggestion when they aren’t working is really upsetting – please help!

Thank you – Cathleen

FamousThemes

Cat,

I can see the photos code is still missing in the source code. I am afraid I will have too look myself into your theme instalation to see what is wrong there. Please provide the wordpress login info, and send us a message using the contact form on our profile page on themeforest.

I must say that in the HELP file we have provided we did mentioned how to add photos in the gallery, and I quote “Use the featured image option to add your image. .........” and there is a screenshot also on how to do that.

I am really sorry that you have spend over 8 hours in finding a way to add photos to the gallery. This why I am asking for the wordpress login, to make the job easier for both of us. It usually shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to create a gallery page with photos inside.

Hi,

Hope you’re well.

I can’t for the life of me figure out how to add ‘Comments’ fields to each of my pages. It turns out you haven’t included it in the theme.

Can you perhaps either include it in to the theme or give me a workaround, because I can’t sit down and write the code from scratch. Even if you just provide the specific code for it, that will help a lot.

Thanks in advance! Adarsh

FamousThemes

Hi Adarsh,

By default Wordpress creates comments section only on archives single pages, on blog. On pages there is no comments code.

You will have to manually add it.

Meaning editing page.php or other page that you intend adding comments section.

Looking at the single.php to see how the code looks like, you can see

<?php comments_template(); ?>

And it’s added right before <?php endwhile; else: ?> ends.

So you will have to add that code to page.php also right before <?php endwhile; endif; ?> ends.

Hope this will work for you.

Regards.

Hi Famous Themes :)

Yes…I’ve followed all the steps outlined – and in the HELP file – so I decided to come at it from a different perspective:

I’m an energy healer and empowerment coach in real life. So I started using my “tools” and I can sense that all the pieces – in this case, the images – are actually there. The page is there. That timthumb thing is working. All permissions are there.

The PATH is missing.

That’s all. There is “no connection” – hmmm…

So I went looking back at our discussion, back at my notes and throughout the code (which isn’t so easy for me since I’m only a baby at this coding stuff) and sure enough…I see something that makes sense to me – so maybe this will help you on my project and also on others:

It appears that the mechanism by which the Photo Album page GRABS the URL for the photo is NOT in place.

The photo URLS are just fine. The page is there. So there is a missing element that tells the page to grab the photo.

We fix that, we fix the page! :)

I’ll email you my contact info so you can look inside -

And a HUGE thanks for this – I really do appreciate your help, I hope you get that…Brides are very funny creatures with all these pressures!!!

Thanks – Cat

FamousThemes

Hi Cat,

I have logged in and fixed the problem.

As you can see I have added the photo for the first 3 items. It works fine. The problem was the way the Featured image was added. See the screenshots I have sent.

Regards :)

If I use an image instead of text for the title, how do I get it to scale responsively? Right now it is messing up the layout on mobile. (I have to use an image because there is no web font for this logo.) Please see here: http://goodluckchuck.us

Thanks!

FamousThemes

Hi,

In style.css file inside the theme files you have unde the 1000 Media queries code

@media screen and (max-width: 1000px) {
body{background:none;}
#main_container{margin:0 auto;width:98%;}
#center_container{margin:0 auto;width:98%;}
#header{ height:auto; position:relative;}
.title{ text-align:center;margin:0px; padding:55px 0 10px 0px;font-family: 'Great Vibes', cursive;font-size:40px; color:#4c402b;}

Just add after the .title line another line with .title img{ max-width:90%;} just like below

@media screen and (max-width: 1000px) {
body{background:none;}
#main_container{margin:0 auto;width:98%;}
#center_container{margin:0 auto;width:98%;}
#header{ height:auto; position:relative;}
.title{ text-align:center;margin:0px; padding:55px 0 10px 0px;font-family: 'Great Vibes', cursive;font-size:40px; color:#4c402b;}
.title img{ max-width:90%;}

I think that line was added in the last update of the theme. This will resize the logo to 90% when the website is viewed from a mobile. You can play with that 90% and make is bigger smaller if you want, and think the logo images should be smaller…

When I go into the custom twitter widget to link it up to the site, I get this message, “Twitter username must be introduced from “Sapientia Theme Options” admin panel.” Is this indicating that I am not able to use the twitter widget with the Marriage theme without owning the Sapientia Theme or do I have to put in some kind of shortcode with the above copy somewhere? Thanks!

FamousThemes

Hi,

Well I forgot that title from the other theme I have “Sapientia Theme Options” :)

No need to have that theme :) it’s just something I forgot to edit when I create a new theme, it’s basically the same framework I am using for all my themes.

Just go to Marriage theme options and add the twitter username to work.

Thanks for showing me that, I will update it.

Hi again -

First of all, I want to say that you are TREMENDOUS with your service and product!

And I’m going to HIGHLY RECOMMEND to all my future clients and friends!

Turned out, the photo album was not working because of one teeny little mis-step – you MUST click on the “Save as Featured Item” which is a hyperlinked line of text, rather than the “Insert Into Post” button!!!

Thank you SOOOOOO much – I’m so pleased with the results, and especially your service.

Thank you again!

Best – Cat

Love this Theme!!

Took some work moving around and getting to know the theme layout and commands. But once I worked through some details with the help of the “help” doc and the comments, the Theme has resulted in a very satisfactory display. Been loving all the compliments we’ve been getting about the sites look. Thanks for the Theme!

Well, Heydeeho again :)

Okay, so I’m almost done getting the main parts up – the tough part will be getting my fiance to write his post, do you have a service for that? te, he – actually he really loves the site and we plan on getting it up to speed by the end of the weekend.

Here are the remaining questions – (I’ve gone over the HELP file and all your comments here first)

1) I can’t get the thing to embed a Google Map for my life ;p I’ve tried Custom Google Maps, and a host of other pluggins – the box shows up, and the title – but the most I can get is the text “View Larger Map” or the actual url ;p Can you tell me how to do it?

2) I’d like to create a Guest Book page – with at least one photo and text for intro and then a threaded comment section so people can read what others have said – I’ve added the comments on all pages code (thanks for that!) but for this page, I’d like the comments to include their name, email (which would not be shown upon posting), date and comment and capcha – can you help me with this? Here’s an example of what I want http://madisonandbarry.com/indx.cfm

3) I’ve added the Flickr widget and input my ID but nothing shows up – I may have missed it, but I didn’t see any instructions here for that – ideas?

Thanks bunches -

I’ve already told many people about your work – and they’re all super impressed with our site so far, thanks!

Cat

FamousThemes

Hi Cat,

To answer you questions:

- About “the tough part will be getting my fiance to write his post” . I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean to guide your fiance with adding his content into a post?

1. I have seen you want to add a google map into a full width page (Our wedding page) right?

As you can see we have added the google map into a sidebar widget in our demo website. That is direferent than you are doing.

I will tell you how to add it to a full width page like you want.

Just use the code in the wordpress editor (html mode view, see the 2 link buttons of the editor in the top-right corner of the editor to switch from visual to html mode) like this:

[fullcontent title="Our Wedding location"] <div class="gmap"><iframe src="https://maps.google.com/maps?q=757+Eagle+Rock+Ave,+West+Orange,+NJ&hl=en&sll=37.6,-95.665&sspn=37.371577,56.513672&oq=757&hnear=757+Eagle+Rock+Ave,+West+Orange,+New+Jersey+07052&t=m&z=14&output=embed" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" width="100%" height="350"></iframe></div> [/fullcontent]

Your map code I have tooked it from Our wedding page on your demo website and add the rest of the code.

2. Here things will be a litle more complicated to do. This will require more work that some simple sugestions, and guidance from my side. Meaning some really customizations in code, creating a new section of the theme that can do that. A intro, a form with capcha (I guess a plugin will do the job) and a custom page to have comment from the users with email, names of the users leaving comments. All this cannot be done using the actual structure and functionality of the theme. Must be created and added to the theme. If you really want to work with me on this one, we will threat this like a custom work. And I must find more time to work on it. Or a second option is to work with a developer on this, or find some proper plugins that can do this.

3. The flickr ID is something like “31408169@N04” and not your email adress.

Just use THIS TOOL to get your real ID

Best Regards.

Great work on this theme!

I’m a little confused why I can’t get unsorted listed items to display correctly (with bullet points). Is there something I’m missing? I have correctly inserted the code but I don’t understand why the bullets aren’t showing up and the spacing is incorrect.

FamousThemes

Hi,

Do you mean the listings you create on pages are not looking good.

They should look like the ones on this demo page

Beautiful theme!

Can you advise if there’are any background music plugins that will work with this theme?

Thanks!

FamousThemes

Hi, thanks

Well to be honest I really do not know any music plugin. But I can recomand wordpress oficial plugins directory to look for one.

Also try not to use a flash one, it will not work on iphones. In the case you want to keep the theme responsive down to mobile resolutions.

Thanks, i think i found something on Code Canyon. Wanted to know if the header ribbons are easily editable, or can they be removed at all?

About the header ribbons they can be removed but from code, and editable from the CSS file.

I need there to be padding on the full-page template so the pictures and text aren’t actually flush to the edge of the container. What code can I add and where? Sorry for the pretty basic questions, but thanks!

FamousThemes

Hi,

When using a full width page, use the layout shortcodes to build containers.

See the buttons in the editor to add shortcodes, the ones described in the HELP file.

For example to add a full width section just add:

[fullcontent title="Full width title"] Sed ut perspiciatis unde omnis iste natus error sit voluptatem accusantium doloremque laudantium, totam rem aperiam, eaque ipsa quae ab illo [/fullcontent]

A half section container

[halfcontent title="Half Width Content"] Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicin elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. [/halfcontent]

And so on, just like a basic shortcode usage.

Hey everybody,

I just installed Wordpress on my hosting and tried the install the theme, then I got this error message:

Unpacking the package… Installing the theme… The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed.

How do I fix this?

I tried re-downloading again and unzipping and zipping it again, no result…

Thanks in advance!

FamousThemes

Hi,

Please do not install all the archive you have downloaded. It’s not corect. That archive is a full pack containing the theme, PSD , HELP and DEMO folders inside.

Unzip the archive you have downloaded and install in wordpress just the theme folder. Is it the corect way.

Hello,

I just made a website on wedding photography: http://uwtrouwfotograaf.be but I can’t seem to get the custom (Google) map to work. What code should I paste in the widget?

Thanks!

FamousThemes

Hi,

In the google map widget you need to paste the code you will get from google map website.

I have seen the google website updated their exported code for maps

And it looks something like this for example:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=houston+usa&hl=ro&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=53.961216,114.169922&hnear=Houston,+Harris,+Texas&t=m&z=5

When I created the widget the code had at the end also &output=embed

So try to paste your original code you will get from google website, and if it wont work try to add &output=embed at the end. you will end up with something like

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=houston+usa&hl=ro&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=53.961216,114.169922&hnear=Houston,+Harris,+Texas&t=m&z=5&output=embed

Also notice I am using the SRC code from google website and not the IFRAME one, you have 2 options there when getting the code.
