I have converted tile12 on the index page to display a facebook page feed….see code below….the FB profile must be public….replace the 140657502714975 with the ref for the FB page you wish to include :)

<!- Tile 12 -> <iframe src=”//www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fpages%2FEurotubes%2F140657502714975&width=310&height=311&colorscheme=light&show_faces=false&force_wall=true&border_color&stream=true&header=true&appId=352107001481503” scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0” style=”border:none;” overflow:hidden; width:310px; height:311px; allowtransparency=”false”></iframe>

Hi Steve,

Can you take a screenshot of how it appears in portrait mode? The code applies to all modes and works by detecting the screen width. So if the font still exceeds the space available, you can reduce the font size from 1.4em to 1.3 or even 1.2em.

Thanks.

Hi Billy, tried reducing the font size to 1.0em here is a screen shot without my latest portrait code added to the css. http://www.euro-tubes.co.uk/screenshot.png

Thanks

Hi Steve,

Thanks for providing the screenshot. In this case, please modify this existing code :
@media all and (max-width:640px) {
#page-excerpt{
    font-size:1.4em;
    padding:15px 20px;
    left:0;
    top:-130px;
}
}
To this (add a width) :
@media all and (max-width:640px) {
#page-excerpt{
    font-size:1.4em;
    padding:15px 20px;
    left:0;
    top:-130px;
    width:80%;
}
}
That should solve the problem.

Thank you.

Hello…again,

I am adding a large tile in place of 2 medium tiles.The large tile is kicking over to the right side outside of the tiles. The only thing I have changed is and I removed 2 medium tiles. Am I missing something on the add? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

billyf

Hi salonsuccessstrategies,

Sorry for the late reply because I was not feeling well for the past few days. The tiles are arranged from left to right, top to bottom. It will fill a row first, so if you are still not sure what I meant, it will probably allow me to explain better if you can provide a screenshot of what you what to achieve and what you have currently.

Thank you.

Hi, I just bought this extension to use on opencart. But I dont understand how to make it work there, and cant seem to find anything that talks about that. Would be great if you can help in advising how to install there

billyf

Hi hebbas,

Thanks for purchasing my item! Unfortunately, this is just a HTML template and it will not work ‘out-of-the-box’ with OpenCart. You will have to convert it to an OpenCart template but I can’t guide you as I am not familiar with OpenCart’s templating system.

Maybe you can start with this tutorial here : http://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/create-a-custom-theme-with-opencart-introduction--cms-21786

And their own documentation : http://docs.opencart.com/display/opencart/Creating+a+custom+theme

Thank you.

Hi Billy,

We have purchased this template a while ago and implemented with small tweaks which was working great except for a minor issue when resizing the window. The tiles are not automatically -reordering to fit the new window size. I am getting an error when I try to re-order the tiles with browser re-size, and I am not able to find why or where this issue is happening.

I am getting the error in jquery.masonry.min.js smartresize – b.event.handle.apply. could you please suggest.

Thanks, Ram

billyf

Well, when you said you made some tweaks which stopped the script from working, I can’t really tell what caused the problem without knowing what you’ve added or checking out which part could have caused the problem.

What you have described is a problem with Masonry’s script (which you can find it here) and I’m not sure what is the cause for the reasons mentioned earlier.

Perhaps you can try substituting the scripts.js file with the one supplied in the template and see whether that solves the problem (in case you have created some conflicts in that file as you modified it).

Thanks.

Default-user

I have not made any changes to the Masonry’s script, only to your script. to remove auto masonry, but could not find that line anywhere, Anyway I will try to find the first version and compare. Will get back to you with more details, if I still cannot find why I am getting this issue.

billyf

Yes, which is why I suggested you to substitute scripts.js file (which is the theme’s script file) with the one supplied originally because I do not expect anyone to change a compressed scripts file anyway (jquery.masonry.min.js is a compressed file).

If you wish to modify the behaviour of Masonry, I would suggest you to take a look at their documentation to see what’s possible with the script.

Thanks.

Hi,

I would like to buy this template and I wanted to know if I can change the background to white instead of one with an image, as in your live example, and if, not being a web developer I can make it work anyway—I have a bit of knowledge of Dreamweaver, though, but it is very basic!

Many thanks! Marina

billyf

Hi Marina,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! Yes, you can change the background colour by editing the following code at line 21 in style.css :
body{
    font:62.5%/1.5 "Segoe UI", Frutiger, "Frutiger Linotype", "Dejavu Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Arial, sans-serif;
    background:url(images/background4.jpg) center top no-repeat;
    background-attachment:fixed;
    background-size:cover;
    -moz-background-size:cover;
    -webkit-background-size:cover;
    -o-background-size:cover;
}
To this :
body{
    font:62.5%/1.5 "Segoe UI", Frutiger, "Frutiger Linotype", "Dejavu Sans", "Helvetica Neue", Arial, sans-serif;
    background:#fff;
}

Actually a non-developer shouldn’t buy a HTML template because it will definitely require some knowledge in HTML / CSS to make it work like how you imaged it to be, and support does not cover ‘teaching’ buyers how to modify a template because it’s already presumed that buyers of HTML templates know HTML / CSS to modify the template to suit their needs.

If you want to use the theme without any knowledge on HTML / CSS, the WordPress version is actually a better choice because it works for anyone without the need of coding knowledge.

Thank you.

Regards, Billy

Hi Billy

I purchased this template sometime back and just got an email about the V1.3 update – thanks.

My reason for commenting is that I noticed you mention you’re taking requests. My request would be for improved mobile browser compatibility (iOS, Android, Windows). Last time I tried the template it wasn’t working that nicely on iPhone so I never ended up using it on my website.

I suspect mobile compatibility is as important, if not more import, than desktop browsers to many clients these days.

Admittedly it was mid 2014 when I last tried it – maybe things have changed since then.

Hi JungleMouse,

Thanks for the feedback. I have to admit that there were some bugs which I’ve missed but nobody reported them to me. Those problems that were found have been fixed in this update.

If there’s any other problems which you’ve realized and wish that they could be fixed / improved, please do let me know. I really appreciate your feedback.

Hope to hear from you soon :)

Hi Billy

I reported a few but I don’t think you had an iPhone at the time. You really need to play around with it on an iPhone for a minute or so to see the main issues:

1. When the page first loads up, it shows an ‘old-skool’ drop down box (Go to…) at the top of the page for navigating the site. If I don’t do anything then this remains. However, if I scroll down the page with a drag and back up again then sometimes it’ll change to the usual bar (HOME, PORTFOLIO etc.) at some point.

2. Although the main page is responsive to some extent, it never seems to re-arrange itself properly to fit in the available horizontal space, either in landscape or portrait orientation. In both orientations you need to scroll the view both horizontally and vertically to see the content. I would expect to only scroll vertically, and have the horizontal fixed (even if it needs to go down to a single column). The problem is much worse if it’s showing the navigation bar (see 1).

3. Similar problems to 2 appear when viewing images via the pop-up gallery – the pop-up’s bigger than the screen so lots of scrolling it necessary and it’s never possible to see the whole image. On mobiles, maybe this shouldn’t be a pop-up.

4. The portfolio page (when accessed by tapping on an image in the main page and then choosing ‘read more’ from the popup) actually works quite well. Horizontal scrolling is fixed and it only scrolls vertically. It does still use the ‘Go to…’ dropdown box though.

There are lots of other little things, but it’d probably be easiest for you to try it out on an iPhone (or, I assume Android/Windows Phone).

It’d be great if this template works as well on mobile as it does on desktop.

Hi JungleMouse,

Thanks for the detailed comments. Yes, I have to say that I hadn’t tested it on an iPhone because I don’t have it but it was tested on my Nokia Lumia 800. Some problems with the lightbox (pop-up) exceeding the screen width has been solved at my live preview.

I could not replicate the problem with the navigation (changing between the ‘usual’ and ‘dropdown’ mode) on both my phone and browser emulator. There was also no problem with tiles rearranging themselves when altered between landscape and portrait mode. Perhaps you can try clearing your browser cache and reloading the page, in case it was caused by some old codes?

As for the navigation, when it’s tapped on Windows Phone, it would show a nice, full-screen scrolling list (as programmed in IE mobile / WP, I think). I’m not sure whether the same would happen in Android / iPhone. I’ll look into this and see whether it should be changed.

Once again, thanks for giving these valuable feedback.

Hello! You should know that I searched through several dozen templates before I found one that my client loved as both “FUN” (required!!) and responsive (we’ll see…) for her photography. I would like to change the color scheme to the teal. My coding skills are limited and I use Dreamweaver. Might you have a “find and replace” search query that I might change the color scheme to teal? What is the color ( #000000 ) that I would change globally to quickly make this change? I also want to change most of the home page tiles that currently link to blog feed to link to photo galleries of my client or to the stock photo store. Is there a quick way to do this or do I need to pick through all the code What/where (html and css) am I looking for to change these blog tiles to link to a gallery instead)?

I appreciate you going over and above on support. I guess I didn’t know enough to know whether it was part of the existing functionality or not. Thank you for the idea of the toggle buttons and checking Google for the Search tutorial. I’ll see if I can wrap my head around the technology… Thanks so much.

Default-user

Billy, I have no point of reference how much time it would take an experienced coder. Would it take you more than an hour to create a toggle with 7 “geo” items and 3 “cat” items for the portfolio page staged here?... http://www.digital-studios.biz/photoworks_m/photo-collections.html (thumbnails etc. not in place yet)

billyf

Hi imagemagic77,

You’re welcome. Just creating the filter alone won’t take more than an hour (but my base rate is USD30 even if it takes less time than that because there’s extra time and cost involved in preparing and starting a new project. It is also what I charge per hour when people contact me for freelance work).

Thank you.

After having to get a credit from Envato because the first theme bought was so buggy and different from the demo, you can’t imagine how thrilled I was to open the Matrix theme and find everything laid out just like the DEMO!!! I was soooo happy. I will need some help as I move though this but here is my home page in progress for my photographer client. THANK YOU for delivering what was advertised! http://www.digital-studios.biz/1_PhotoShoot-PICS/index.html

How do I add the “5 stars” rating. I am VERY happy so far!

billyf

HI imagemagic77,

Thank you! You can rate the item at the Downloads page (where you downloaded the template). Here’s the Help page showing where it is in case you can’t find it : https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/203269490-How-do-I-give-feedback-on-items-

Once again, thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it!

Good day great site and I am happy to see you updated the template. I have one question. I want to set the twitter feed back to panel 12, I see that I now need to add my twitter name in the tweets.php file is there anything else I need to have it work now.

Thanks in advance.

billyf

Hi bpearlz,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! Since V1.2.5 this template has been using the updated Twitter feed method. As stated in the documentation, you will need to get the API key and use it in tweets.php.

If your website is not hosted at the root directory (e.g. at www.example.com/folder instead of www.example.com), you will need to open scripts/javascript.js and edit this line :
$.getJSON( rooturl + '/tweets.php', function(data){
To this :
$.getJSON( rooturl + '/folder-name/tweets.php', function(data){

Thank you.

Thanks for the fast reply, I am up grading to the 1.3v of template. Will still need to twitter feed method first?

Thanks n kind regards

billyf

Hi bpearlz,

You’re welcome. Upgrading to V1.3 will not affect your Twitter settings. You can apply just the updated files based on the update log :
-style.css
---- Fixed toggle 'jump' issue
---- Fixed #page-img overflow issue
---- Modified #page and #pg-content to fix the bug at features-main.html
-features-main.html
---- Removed extra closing div tag
-All HTML files
---- Relocated javascript files to improve performance
-All images file
---- Compressed to optimize performance

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi Billy

Your work is awesome!

I have two questions: 1. How do I make the boxes on index.html to function as page buttons? 2. Okay I explain here what I want to do – I made a products page using the colorful BUTTONS found on FEATURES – on each colorful button box I listed our products so when the clients clicks on it it takes the client down the place where the product description is (and that is on the same page) – I would like the page to scroll down the exact place at click button.

Thank you.

Please refer to the comment below.

Hi 287,

Thanks for purchasing my template! Regarding your questions :

1. You just need to put the URL into the href attribute for the tile :
<!-- Tile 1 -->
<a href="http://www.example.com">
</a>
To replace this :
<!-- Tile 1 -->
<a href="#article-1" class="lightbox" rel="section">
</a>

Then, you can remove the content below <!-- Lightbox Article Preview --> till the next tile since you are not using the lightbox pop-up when you want it to behave as a link. You can see Tile 15 as an example of a tile which redirects to a page / URL.

2. You just need to use HTML anchor tag for this. It’s not something specific to the template.

Thanks.
