Awesome theme!!! We used it as a template in our company’s site: http://mobilesolutions.gr/

Do you plan to develop or any hint on how to add a facebook tile?

Thanks in advance.

billyf

Thanks, I’m glad you like it :)

However, I am sorry to inform you that to the best of my knowledge on Facebook API , I still do not know how to extract the information of a Facebook user and display it at our own website. Perhaps a Facebook App developer might know how to do this, if you really want to have this feature at your own website.

Thank you.

Amazing theme!

One thing I’ve noticed however… I have a high res screen (2550×1440) and the dotted shading over the background star image only goes down to the bottom of the boxes whereas the background image fills up the entire browser window which means there’s a large strip of the background at the bottom without the shading pattern over it, any chance of a fix?

Also what is the ETA of the “white theme” as you mentioned you were trying to concentrate on the WP version and it’s the lighter theme I’m interested in?

Hi billyf – the problem is still there. I am using Firefox 15, but it’s working fine in IE.

billyf

The problem should be gone now. Thank you so much for reporting and testing for me :)

billyf

Just to inform you that the light version is available now. Please check it out if you are still interested :)

Thanks!

Hi Does this template support fullscreen?

billyf

Hi,

The background will automatically resize to fit the whole screen, whereas the tiles (content) area will only reach 960px wide at maximum.

Thanks for your interest in this item!

Hi

I have a small problem

on this page http://www.exquisito.com.au/recipes/

when you hover over on mac chrome the tiles push the next tile out of whack.

Any help?

Thanks in advance

billyf

Hi,

Sorry but I cannot replicate your problem in Chrome for Windows. Anyway, an alternative solution to solve this problem is to wrap for the .tiles right after . What it does is, it makes all the tiles absolutely-positioned (just like the main page) and they should not push any tiles away when you hover.

Thanks and I hope it solves your problem.

Hiii,

Congrats for this amazing theme. I wait the WP version to order it. Maybe i can test the administration panel for this version ?

best regards

billyf

Hi,

Thanks for your compliment and interest! I’m not sure how to make a ‘demo’ admin panel, but I can assure you that you won’t even need to memorize a single letter in order to use the theme as everything is visible ;)

However, I will post some screenshots of the backend at the item’s page to compensate for the lack of a working demo of the admin menu so that you will have an idea of how things work at the backend.

Thank you.

Ok great. Do you have a date for the WP version ?

billyf

Initially, the WP version was scheduled to be released by the end of this week. However, I think it might be postponed for 1-2 weeks due to unexpected increase in workload recently. The template is basically done but still undergoing some polishing and addition of new features, and extra time is also required to prepare a detailed documentation for everyone :)

Thanks for your patience!

Ok. It will be a new article or if i by this one i would get for free WP version ? If it’s both different version maybe you can send a 1st version in the end of this week and send the final version in october.

billyf

Unfortunately, I must submit the final version to ThemeForest to be reviewed before it is available to the public, so I must get everything done before I can submit to them. Distributing my theme by myself is also not permitted by them because I am bound by the regulations of an ‘Exclusive Author’ and the copy that I give you will end up as an illegal copy. Hence, I hope you can wait for 1-2 weeks before it is available here.

Thank you for your understanding and patience! Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

When using your theme on a mobile device, what styles or options should be used to prevent the mobile user from having to select the tiles twice? When I open a page on my iPhone or Android device, it requires an initial tap to “highlight” a tile, and then a second tap to “click” the tile. Users do not know they need to tap twice and become confused. Can this behavior be changed on the mobile device? Is this accomplished in combination with the “no hover effect”? Suggestions?

billyf

Hi Humancell,

I think this is caused by how the mobile browser carries out the tapping action. When I tested it on my Windows Phone, one tap was sufficient to open it.

So, to solve this ‘problem’, you can try making it link to its own page directly when a user clicks on it (just like those under Blog > Tile-Large ) instead of having a lightbox shown before a user is brought to its actual page.

Meanwhile, I’ll also look at some possible ‘solutions’ using javascript to overcome it.

Thank you!

Do you have news regarding the release time-frame for the WordPress version?

Cheers,

Tom

billyf

Thanks for your interest! Due to sudden increase in workload, the release date is expected to fall between 1 and 2 weeks from now. Thanks for your understanding and patience!

billyf

Ah…I’m quite sorry for the delay as well. Anyway, thanks for leaving a comment here :)

The whole page looks great. I am however having problems setting up the audio file. Any chance you could upload a sample file how you set it up in your demo (index2.html) ?

billyf

Hi,

Thanks for purchasing my template :) As written in the manual, you just have to copy the codes between line 157 and 205 in index2.html and paste that to another lightbox / page where you want the audio to appear.

Then, open scripts/mediaplayer.js. Duplicate / edit the codes accordingly. Remember that the containers’ IDs (#jquery_jplayer_1 and #jp_container_1) must match with those set in the .html file so that the correct audio file is linked there.

If you still have any questions or want my demo file, please send an email to me so that I can attach it to you.

Thank you!

Could you then mail me the examples to: erka.date@gmail.com ? Thanks in advance

billyf

Already sent it to you. If you still require further assistance, please do contact me.

Thank you.

Hi billyf, I’m looking for a theme and I quite like this one. A few questions: – What’s the difference between the html version and the wordpress version from a) the user’s point of view and b) the author’s point of view? – Also, can I use google web fonts for example? Or even use the @font-face rule? Thanks, Daniel

billyf

Hi jordaniel,

Thanks for checking out my theme :) For the HTML version, you can do anything with it and change everything in it assuming you know HTML and CSS . It is the most flexible version.

For the WordPress version, you need to use it with WordPress (you can find out more information at www.wordpress.org). It is the easiest to be used and most convenient if you are updating the content of your website frequently (i.e. you have a blog / news portal). It can also be edited easily by the users who do not have any knowledge on HTML / CSS etc. (changing logo, pictures, colours etc. can be done at the graphical admin panel). If you want to use Google web font or @font-face, just tell / provide me the font you wish to use and I’ll put the codes into it if you do not know how to do that.

Thank you. If you still have any doubts, please feel free to contact me again.

hey thanks a lot for your quick reply. I’ll get back to you if I have any problems using other fonts. thanks again!

Can i use this template for blogger? if yes then how. if now then from where i can get that?

billyf

Hi,

Thanks for your interest. However, like all other WP themes in TF and other marketplaces, they are meant for WordPress (self-hosted) only. You can get Blogger themes here : http://themeforest.net/category/blogging/blogger

Thank you.

Hi, great looking template! ;) I have some troubles getting it to work on Internet Explorer 8 and 9. I hope that you can assist me with this. I am generating the content of the webpages from a MySQL database. For this, I use a javascript which first empties the section “mainpage-mos”, then creates a section “content-mos”, to which the tiles are added. When all the tiles are added, the “content-mos” section-tag is closed and added to the “mainpage-mos” section. This works fine for Firefox, Chrome and Opera, but the page stays empty in Internet Explorer (8 and 9). Here you can find an example. We have a kind of knowledge database. If a visitor searches this database, the search results should be shown in the tiles (one result = one tile). Furthermore I notice that in Internet Explorer 9, the tiles are not “recognized” as links. IE8 seems to work better, but still don’t show generated content from the database. I hope you have a solution for the IE problems… Thanks in advance

Best regards, Robert

billyf

Hi Robert,

I have tested it in IE8 and IE9 . From what I see, IE9 does work (the tiles are shown) but IE8 does not. As I know, IE8 doesn’t support AJAX very well (I’ve even stated it as one of the limitations when using AJAX pagination with this theme).

So, maybe you can try using a PHP script which is similar to WordPress in the sense that the page content is fully loaded and presented to the client browser instead of having to empty and reload the “mainpage-mos’ div. However, I’m sorry to say that I do not know how to make a script for this as it is not my expertise, but you do sound like you have some experience working with PHP and MySQL, so perhaps you know the method of doing it :)

As for IE9 not recognizing them as ‘link’, can I know more about what you want to achieve? I couldn’t really spot the difference as the tiles still work when clicked.

Thank you for your understanding and I’m really sorry that working with PHP / MySQL is not my expertise.

Hi again… thanks for your message. The problem with IE9 not recognizing the links, was because my browser was in “IE9 Compatibility View” mode ;) I usually don’t work with IE, so I wasn’t aware of this setting… So my only problem is with IE8 , but I’m not sure yet if it’s worth the effort to solve this. I will think about using the WP option though… Thanks for your support! :)

billyf

No problem :) You have done a good job in creating a customized-script to load the posts though ;)
