Common WordPress Installation Issues
Missing style sheet error when installing the theme
A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.
Frequently Asked Questions
There is an error in the theme installation. What should I do?
First, please make sure that you have used Matrix.zip or Matrix-Light.zip for your installation, not Matrix WordPress Theme.zip.
If you have used the correct file, please make sure that your WordPress version is 3.2 and above.
If you have followed the above steps and still having problems with the installation, please contact me for further assistance.
Help! I have imported some posts but no tiles appear at the homepage after I’ve activated the theme!
Well, because this theme requires additional settings for the tiles, that is perfectly normal as posts created prior to activating the theme would not have such settings set. All you need to do is just to go through each post, set your desired settings for the tile and ‘Update’ them.
If this is a new installation, the ‘Hello World’ post would not appear for the same reason. So, you can just proceed to creating new posts as you normally would and their tiles will appear nicely at the homepage.
How do I increase the number of tiles at the homepage?
Change the settings at Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most.
What are the sizes of the images in the theme?
- Large tile : 310px x 310px
- Medium tile : 310px x 150px
- Small tile : 150px x 150px
- List tile (in archives) : 630px x 150px
- Page image : 960px x any height
- Front page slider : 950px x any height
- Front page featured content (bottom) : 310px x any height
- Blog post images (landscape) : 640px x any height
- Portfolio images (portrait) : 330px x 580px
Can I show post title instead of category when I hover on a tile?
Yes, it is possible. Just contact me if you need my help to change it. I will only need access to your WordPress admin panel if you have enabled theme editor in WordPress.
I have questions not found in the FAQ!
I have included as much details into Documentation-Matrix.pdf as possible (including pictures and clear description), so you are very likely to find the answer there.
However, should you need my help, you can always contact me through the methods mentioned at the last FAQ item.
How can I contact you?
Please use the account that you used to buy this theme and either leave a comment or send an email to me via my profile page. Otherwise, you can send an email directly to my email address if you include the purchase code in the email.
I’m sorry about the inconvenience caused, but these contact methods are used due to illegal distribution of my items in some websites.
