How do I get the Cufon font ?

I’m not allowed to include the font in the package for download because of the copyright. The Delicious font is available for free and it takes just a few minutes to enable it. Here are the steps :

Go to the Delicious font page and download it (bottom of the page, take the PC Open Type)

Unzip the package, go to the Cufon page and upload the “Delicious Heavy” font in the “Bold typeface” field.

Check the box “The EULAs of these fonts allow Web Embedding”

Then you can choose which glyphs you want to include, I’ve used the default “Basic latin” option with this theme.

Scroll down, you need then to agree with the terms and to finish, just click the “Let’s do this” button, the download will begin.

Put the “Delicious_500.font.js” file in the JS folder, and also the Cufon script (you can find it in the cufon folder of the theme or download it)

In the HTML file, here’s the code to include before the </head> tag :

<script type="text/javascript" src="js/cufon-yui.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/Delicious_500.font.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
Cufon.replace('h1, h2');

The first line is calling the Delicious font javascript file you’ve just created with Cufon, then the following script replaces all H1 and H2 headers with this custom font, you may want to modify these settings, just add or remove the classes you want.

Delicious is the font I’ve choosen but you can use any other font, the process is the same, just change the link calling the JS file of the font.

Can I use the Cufon on all layout variants (vertical, horizontal…) ?

Yes ! See above for the steps to follow. However, IE8 seems to slow down when Cufon is enabled, it might be a problem on my computer but I didn’t find any problem. If I find a possibility to make it better, I’ll update the theme :)

Is the contact form working ?

Yes ! Don’t forget to add your email in the “sendmail.php” file, line 59, you can edit this file to changes the messages displayed when a message is processed.
