Interesting issue, when I click the shortcodes button on a page and select any option in the drop-down menu, the status bar just sits there and never comes up.
Also, Is there a reason as to why I can’t get it to load past 86 %?
URL : http://alexjdesigns.com/dchimp/
the homepage has to have at least 2 front page sections, in order to load.
K
I uploaded the dummy content and that fixed the load issue, but I am still having trouble loading the shortcut menu.
Looks like its with firefox, could be conflicting with a pluygin I have, which totally sucks! I will investigate it further. I tried Chrome and it the shortcode wizard finally showed up.
Very different style! Love it!
Nice theme
I have been checking your theme on my iphone and parallex gallery take times to load and the read more button of portfolio detail do not load, and the close button either do not work
I’m sorry! I’ll check that out and get back to you soon
No sorry, Just let u know and maybe an update soon
I love this theme, planing to buy it. Will ask you some questions soon
(lot´s of questions, be prepare :D)
i’ll take a look at these issues and fix them as soon as possible.
K
i’ve just tested the site on an iphone 4 (not s) and it works. the load time depends on the connection.
as for the read more and close button issues, a tap means “roll over”. u need to press + hold a bit + release and it works.
K
Hello,
I would like to have the page scrolling a little bit slower, can you point me to the right files to adjust this ?
I guess it’s a .js file… K will answer you later today, ok? He’s out of town right now
Q
hey,
open mercurial/js/front.page.js and on line 158 change 200 with whatever u want.
K
Hi Still having fun toying with your theme. However, it possible to “reorganize” easily the contents hierarchy, specifically, the order of sections display? If, early on in thedesign project, my single page website is built with 6 sections and I finally decide to swap section 2 with section 5, is it somehow possible with a drag n drop function or alike?
Sure!
Each front page section that you create has an “Order” box beneath the publish button (on the right side). There you can add numbers so you can easily organize your pages. We went for 0 – 10 – 20 etc. In this case if you want to add a new page between 0 – 10 (the first and the second page), you just give it “1” as the order number.
Q
Sorry for inconvenience, I missed that order one. Thank you again.
Is there any possibility to control (set) the opacity of the background section image, which can be superimposed on a plain color background? (And of course, edit this opacity parameter for each background image, not set as a default value for all bg images) ?
You can’t do that at this time
You can either set a background color or an image. But why don’t you do it in Photoshop straight and export them as final images. I mean it’s simpler from my point of view
Q
send me an email using the contact form from our profile page, and ill send u the changed files sometime tomorrow.
K
Thanx, I’ll do that. Let me also expand on the “why” since that might help sell this theme and give others ideas. One of my clients was ticklish on a bg pattern mimicking paper, wanting a subtle taste of matter instead of a plain uniform color. We spent a fair amount of time tweaking the opacity of this tiled BG. Ultiimately, this is what made all the difference. Also, in your dummy contents you also present very soft BG which really enable legibility. A.

Hello back again.
Checking out the responsiveness of your theme both on my prototype and your demo, I seem to experience some sort of an issue with how background image resize/adapt to the screen/window size.
Specifically, on the title page, the bg image is a large-size png (banner’s mask). When I resize my window, this image resizes too, but not entirely. This bg image remains anchored to the left, not centered, not fully displayed (resized) in small size.
There are 3 possibilities: - an aesthetic decision – I still have to get into the theme’s arkanes ; - a voluntary constraint related to retina sized screens, somehow similar to your smart and well crafted padding shortcodes where you enable to fixe lower and upper limits to font sizes; - an issue to fix.
(BTW, I’m glad with what I see and can edge my way through even if it’s not perfect.)
hey,
when using a fullscreen background (background image + fullscreen background position) like all the image backgrounds from the demo are, they are anchored top left. and they cover the entire width and height of the section.
here is an example: lets say u have 1000×800 bg image. if the section is 1920px wide and 1080 tall, the image will be scaled to 1920×1536. if the section is 320px wide and 1500px tall, the image will be scaled to 1875×1500.
K
I bought ur theme. Please where is the Custom CSS ??? I want to add my own CSS . Thx
there is no custom.css. what u can do is this:
duplicate mercurial/css/skins/skin.css. rename it to custom.css. go to admin/appearance/theme options/styling options/ and select custom.css from the dropdown. then add whatever css rules u want at the end of the custom.css.
K
Virplay, same question for me. I don’t either see any custom CSS to tweak global or local properties such as BG opacity index or “disable” the menu, using a display: none command… Alex

K
OK did that. For other interested parties, he’s what I did to suppress the menu bar: Just add the following instruction at the end of the skin.css file:
header.header { display:none; }
Et voila!
I am reading the manual, trying to create the home page but I dont get it
can u pls be more speciffic? create 2 home page sections (add new, enter a title, hit publish) and go from there. also, u can give the dummy content xml a try.
K
Is there a way to disable to pre-loader?
well, i don’t see a preloader on ur website. whatever u did, it worked.
I just commented out the css in the style sheet by putting a */ in front of the two section labeled coll-preload or something
Where can I change the color of the mouse-hover for the social media?
for the small ones (team) mercurial/css/shortcodes.css line 1100
for the big ones (contact) mercurial/css/shortcodes.css line 1180
K
thank you so much!
Can you also tell me where you got your icons from on the “Services” section of the demo, they are awesome!
ill have Q post a reply.
K
Search google for Entypo icons
Q
Thank you, I found the icons but was looking for the shape included, not just the icons? Thanks!
Typography question… Testing again… how lobster13regular, the font implemented to give the vintage look may apply to cyrilics, which I actually need. Lobster offers this possibility with a large set of cyrillic glyphs.
Lobster is a google webfont too, and that may simplify the whole thing.
Could you tell me where in the CSS should we paste the following link that google tell us we should use : <link href=’http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster&subset=cyrillic-ext,latin-ext' rel=’stylesheet’ type=’text/css’> to enable the font use. Which parts of the code should we replace ?
That would be helpful, really. Thanx again.
A
i didnt see an option to subset lobster cyrillic on font squirel…
if u want to use google fonts. insert that code in header.php
K
This theme is awesome! The best I have seen. I also purchased your Masculine theme thinking it couldn’t get any better, but wow you out did yourself.
Also, the support so far is amazing. Thanks for all of your hard work, it shows!
thx
Is there an easy way to generate, within this single-page theme, alternate translated contents, and if so is there’s a tip on how to do that, as I’d wish to enable displaying English, French and Russian contents.
There seems to be a need for a POT file, which can be generated through softwares such as POEdit. Then assign a language identifier such as en_EN, fr_FR and ru_RU to both .mo and .po files but the real question is: can we easily switch from one language to another easily with this single-page theme?
Thx again,
A.
PS) I’ve seen that interesting link (you are aware of) onehttp://www.solostream.com/blog/tutorials/translate-wordpress-theme/ but I am not sure it applies here.
u will need a plugin to add multilingual support. something like this one: http://wpml.org/ . we havent tested it on mercurial.
the theme has a pot file, u will need to duplicate it for each language. wpml has instructions on how to do that.
to localize a theme and to make it multilungual are 2 different things. the link u mention is for localisation.
K
thank you very much, again. I am testing all that.
A.
