Looks good. Powerful framework!

friendlythemes

Thanks WPExplorer! The theme options framework behind it has been 9months in the making, it’s based on the amazing work done by WPTheming and then we’ve added a heck of a lot to it – theme updates, unlimited sidebars, import/export options, basic/advanced settings, I could go on :) . The front-end framework is all custom built and is HTML5 and is responsive, so looks great on any device.

Thanks again WPExplorer.

Please see below response – errors weren’t theme related. Cheers.

Just to let you (and others) know, that we now have IE7 compatibility for this theme. :)

Hey Maxitov, those problems were actually to do with the demo options in IE7 (and have since been fixed) – we’re working very hard to get everything working beautifully in that ancient browser, but at the moment, it is unsupported. Thanks very much for your comments.

This is an amazing theme.

Easily worth $99++.

mashur, thanks very much for the comments! Really appreciate the kind words. Hopefully others will think that way, too :)

great job!

is this buddypress compatible?

friendlythemes

Hi hksalander, thanks very much for the comment. At the moment, Mercury isn’t compatible with buddypress, as it’s mainly aimed at businesses who need a portfolio, however if people show an interest then it’s certainly something we can add. Again, thanks for the comment.

I’m loving the use of css media queries. Great work! I’m definitely getting this!

Hey rwmedia, thank you very much for the kind remarks – we took a lot of time getting the mediaqueries just right – hopefully people will see just how powerful they are as the site looks great on any device! Thanks again!

Looks very promising, good luck with the sales guys.

Thanks Kev, we’ve tried really hard to get every detail right with Mercury, both front and back-end. Glad you like it and thanks agian!

Compatible Browsers IE7 , IE8, IE9 ,

The Homepage Slide did not Work on IE 9 .

friendlythemes

Hi there momworx, we’ve gone through the code with a fine tooth-comb and have readjusted a few slider properties specifically for IE9 . Bizarrely, everything is hunky dory in IE7 and 8. Very happy to announce that the slider is now working just fine in IE9 .

Hi I have a problem. I installed theme, choiced “Just like the demo” apperance, and I dont have menu, porfolio etc…just few my old posts. Why?

friendlythemes

Hi ulaaa, thanks for purchasing one of our themes, we really appreciate it.

Really sorry to hear you’re having a problem. Depending on your server setup (hosting) some of the functions we use might not be allowed. You can manually select a menu from Appearance > Menu and then set up your pages. As to why the portfolio items haven’t been imported, that’s trickier to say – if you want to get in touch, send us a message from our Den (http://themeforest.net/user/friendlythemes right hand side at the bottom) and we’ll see if we can work it out for you. We can send you over an xml file to import, but the ‘install’ script is designed so you don’t have to do that.

Anyway, fire us over an e-mail and we’ll help you out. Again, thanks for buying Mercury!

Sorry, I canta see any possibility to send email. Trough the Twitter account?

Hi ulaaa if you click on the link in my last message, you’ll see that there’s a form on the right-hand-side – if you fill in that with your details, it will be sent to us!

Thanks

i have a simple question I am sure, but i cannot find where to edit the title header, where it says “Mercury is one of the most customisable, easy-to-use, flexible and powerful premium themes in the world.”

any help?

figured it out, needed to just add to widget area,...knew it was easy(smh)

custom font not working… any suggestions?

jmane Purchased

matter of fact, there is no font styling on any of my header titles, I can manually add the styling but I would like the theme to work how it is supposed to.

friendlythemes

Hi jmane, thanks very much for buying Mercury – we really appreciate it. If you can send us an e-mail via our den, we’ll see what we can do. If you’re using custom fonts, you may need to use the ”!important” declaration to supersede the defaults. Fire us an e-mail and we’ll help you further.

Cheers!

I’m having the same problem as ulaaa, when I selected to install same as the demo, none of the pages / posts / portfolio items appeared. Only the menus were there, and they all led to 404 pages (because there aren’t any).

Also can’t figure out how to get custom fonts working with the widgets, help?

Thanks!

friendlythemes

Hi ChromisElda, if you could get in touch from our Den, we can send you an .xml file which will help you out. Looks like on certain hosting setups there’s a problem with the install script.

We’ll help you out with the fonts, too.

In the PSDs it shows a pricing matrix. How can I get that working?

Thanks!

friendlythemes

Hi joewinke, that’s actually from a really cool plugin over on codecanyon – it’s just an example of what can be done with the contents of your page. If you pop over to codecanyon.net you’ll find some great plugins for pricing matrices.

Hi,

I just spent a lot of time building out the Mercury theme, then changed it to an old one, and changed it back to Mercury. When I changed it back, all the settings were gone. This seems like a pretty major bug – and cost me a lot of time. Thoughts?

Joe

friendlythemes

Hi joewinke, that’s a very odd thing to happen – mainly because we namespace our options which means it is practically impossible for anything to overwrite them. We also provide an options export functionality within the theme options panel – which we recommend people use whenever switching themes or make large changes – it’s just an extra backup. We’ll look into why that’s happening but in our tests it doesn’t seem to do the same, but we’ll try our very best to work out why – we’re really sorry it’s cost you time, we really spent an awful lot of time in trying to make sure people could use this theme with ease and we’re very sad to hear that it has caused you some troubles. If you would like to discuss it further, feel free to e-mail us from our den.

First off, this is wonderfully powerful and includes some excellent tools. I am seriously considering this theme for some of its unique features but I have a few questions. 1. Can every portfolio post have a unique sidebar? So not just a unique sidebar for all of the portfolio posts which is different than the sidebar for the blog? 2. There may be an issue with the pagination for the portfolio. I plan on heavily using the portfolio so I may have a number of pages. I will send an email with other questions. Thanks!

friendlythemes

Hi Captainzank, thanks for your question! Yes, each portfolio item can have its own unique sidebar – in fact every single item (post, page, portfolio item) on the site can have its own. With regards to the pagination on the portfolio – you set how many items you want on display – it uses the WordPress option for how many items are displayed on the ‘blog’ home page – so you can set that to as many as you like (or as few).

Thanks for the consideration and by all means fire an e-mail to us from our Den.

The typography.css file is being called last no matter what I do. I put a call to ..\custom.css as the last line of the header file and its still being overridden by typography.css. Any ideas?

friendlythemes

Hey joewinke, you may need to use the ”!important” declaration to force those styles. Alternatively, instead of using a custom stylesheet you may way want to try using the in-built custom CSS box in the theme options panel.

I have tried installing theme both manually and through wordpress upload and I cannot seem to make it work. It says failure each time I upload the zip. Any suggestions?

friendlythemes

Hi joshclemence,

I’ve not heard of this sort of problem before. The ‘easiest’ way is to upload the zip file using the WordPress theme installer. If that doesn’t work, unzip it on your computer and then FTP the “mercury” folder to your hosting. You’ll then see the theme in your Appearance > Themes page.

Thanks very much for buying Mercury.
