Could you provide updated javascript code for the question mmcdonald191 had about 6 months ago? It’s to do with displaying the correct email in the Inbox. I am also using PHP to create the email messages (which works fine) and I am in the same position that I cannot call in the correct message into inbox_inbox.php using the javascript.

It looks as though your javascript code in assets/scripts/inbox.js has altered a little bit since then and I receive a ‘id is not defined’ error when I click on the

Hi :),

You can pass the message id through HTML attribute so you can put the message id in the TR element for each message in the list:

<tr class="unread" data-messageid="221"> //out your message ID in form of HTML attribute data-messageid
<td class="inbox-small-cells">
<td class="inbox-small-cells">
<td class="view-message hidden-phone">Marco Mand</td>
<td class="view-message ">
wichtig
<a href="#">Message title in the inbox list</a>
</td>
<td class="view-message inbox-small-cells">
<td class="view-message text-right">Mar 27, 2013</td>
</tr>

Please note, here you dont have put onClick=”loadMessage” since in Inbox.js loadMessage function attached to the TR -> TD click events. Then whenever the TD elements with “view-message” class are clicked, then “loadMessage” will be execute and this function can fetch the message ID for the clicked row. For this please modify the fucntion as below:

 var loadMessage = function (resetMenu) {
        var url = 'inbox_view.php';
        loading.show();
        content.html('');
    var message_id = $(this).parent().attr("data-messageid"); //fetch the message id from parent TR element;
        $.post(url, {'message_id': message_id}, function (res) {
            if (resetMenu) {
                $('.inbox-nav > li.active').removeClass('active');
            }
            $('.inbox-header > h1').text('View Message');

            loading.hide();
            content.html(res);
            App.fixContentHeight();
            App.initUniform();

        });
}

I hope the above instructions will be helpful. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks.

Thank you very much but I couldn’t get your new code to work either.

If I hard code the url it works: var url = ‘inbox_view.php?messages_id=3’;

And using the following alert I can see the number of the row is being clicked on correctly (note that .live() is deprecated)

// handle view message
$('.inbox-content .view-message').live('click', function () {
    var messages_id = $(this).parents("tr").attr("data-messageid"); //get message id
    alert('You clicked on row ' + messages_id);
    loadMessage(messages_id);
});

It is solely passing the value of the row to the url that I am having a problem with. Do I need that ‘handle view message’ section if var message_id = $(this).parent().attr(“data-messageid”); //fetch the message id from parent TR element; does the same job (although should it read: var message_id = $(this).parent(“tr”).attr(“data-messageid”); //fetch the message id from parent TR element;)

Hi :),

Please try to modify the “loadMessage” function in assets/scripts/index.js as shown below:

 var loadMessage = function (el, name, resetMenu) {
        var url = 'inbox_view.html';

        loading.show();
        content.html('');
        toggleButton(el);

        var message_id = el.parent('tr').attr("data-messageid");

        $.ajax({
            type: "GET",
            cache: false,
            url: url,
            dataType: "html",
            data: {'message_id': message_id},
            success: function(res)
            {
                toggleButton(el);

                if (resetMenu) {
                    $('.inbox-nav > li.active').removeClass('active');
                }
                $('.inbox-header > h1').text('View Message');

                loading.hide();
                content.html(res);
                App.fixContentHeight();
                App.initUniform();
            },
            error: function(xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError)
            {
                toggleButton(el);
            },
            async: false
        });
    }

And change your message listing’s HTML code as below:

<tr class="unread" data-messageid="221"> //out your message ID in form of HTML attribute data-messageid
<td class="inbox-small-cells">
<td class="inbox-small-cells">
<td class="view-message hidden-phone">Marco Mand</td>
<td class="view-message ">
wichtig
<a href="#">Message title in the inbox list</a>
</td>
<td class="view-message inbox-small-cells">
<td class="view-message text-right">Mar 27, 2013</td>
</tr>

The above code should allow you properly pass the message id.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks.

I really want to buy your theme, but “nested list” can not be dragged in IE8, this to me is very important, there are ways to solve it?

Hi,

Unfortunately the nested list plugin does not support IE8.

Thanks.

I’m trying to set a default select2 item but i’m having difficulties. It would be great if I could do this just with html as the list is dynamically generated. However I understand this is not possible. After some research I have found that with javascript I can do this:

$(”#mycombo”).select2().select2(“val”, “myval”);

This works if I run from a javascript scratch pad within the browser, but if I embed the script in my html it either doesn’t work or it breaks other things such as the date picker. Can you tell me where I should execute the select2?

For whatever reason the select2() needs to be inserted before FormComponents.init() otherwise it (or other components) don’t render correctly.

<script>
    jQuery(document).ready(function () {
        App.init(); // initlayout and core plugins
        $("#format").select2().select2("val", "pdf");
        FormComponents.init();
    });
</script>

Yes, you will need to include the plugins js files before you call the init functions. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

I am using Data table with Fixed Columns, its was working fine till metronic 1.4, But after upgrading to 1.5.4 with bootstrap 3.0.2 , fixed column is not working and header alignment is not proper. Can you tell me how to fix it.

Data table with fixed header http://datatables.net/extras/fixedcolumns/, this what i am using.

Hi :),

Since v1.5.3 all the tables are responsive after we added below code in assets/css/plugins.css:

/***
Datatables Plugin(in v1.3)
***/
.dataTable {
  width: 100% !important;
  clear: both;
  margin-top: 5px;
}

So if you want to use fixed width tables then just remove “width: 100% !important;” from the above code.

Thanks.

Thanks for the response. Fixed column works fine, but both column header and row header are misaligned with Data inside table.

Hi,

This is a known issue of datatables + bootstrap. Please try to set “sScrollX” : “100%” fot your datatable. If this does not work you can try to search for the fix in stackoverflow. There are a few fixes for this issue that you can try.

Thanks.

Hi, where can I change the language for example to german? Or is there an language ressource? Greetings from germany!

Hi :),

All the content in the template are static and if you want to translate it to German then you will need to translate it from scratch(the html content and plugin UI). Some 3rd party plugins do support i18n so you should check out the plugin documentation to learn more.

Please let me know if you need any further info.

Thanks.

Thanks for the fast response. I’ll test it.

Hello Keenthemes,

Do you think it would be possible to also integrate in the next versions http://github.hubspot.com/messenger/

Thanks Joao

Hi :),

Thanks for the suggestion. We will definitely consider implementing it in a future release.

Stay tuned and follow us on http://twitter.com/keenthemes

Hi,

Do we get access to the HTML after we have created the pages. We want to add some Angular JS commands into the HTML.

Thanks!

Hi :),

After purchasing the theme you will get the full source code of the theme. Also you can modify the theme and integrate other 3rd party components include Angular JS attributes.

Please let me know if you need any further info.

Thanks.

Hi, first of all, congratulations for this theme! Its exactly what i was looking for!

I have a doubt about the dashboard date range picker…

how can i use it to alter the data shown (php server side)

Thanks in advance and keep the good working!

Hi :),

Please check out assets/scripts/index.js and you can see the daterange picker plugin initialization code under “initDashboardDaterange” function. There you can specify your preferred date format using “format” parameter. Using “ranges” parameter you can set predefined values.

For more info you can check the plugin’s official documentation here: https://github.com/dangrossman/bootstrap-daterangepicker.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks.

Hello, thank you! I’ll check it. And about the first question?

how can i use it to alter the data shown (php server side)

Hi :),

You are welcome!.

Using the “ranges” parameter you can set predefined values(alter the daterange picker with the dates stored in your database or etc). Please check out the official doc to learn more how to use this parameter.

Thanks.

HI Keenthemes,

Would like to get your suggestion on how to best handle the search submit from the sidebar. I currently have it working like this:

        // handle the search query submit on enter press
        $('.sidebar-search input').keypress(function (e) {
            if (e.which == 13) {
                window.location.href = "/person/search/?q=" + $("#searchbox").val();
                return false; //<---- Add this line
            }
        });

Though the above approach works for me, it does mess with your code (app.js). When I get an update, it breaks my app since I have to go and change your files. I’d prefer to leave it alone and make any changes over at myowncustomscript.js file that I use for setting various attributes for this template.

I’d be grateful if you could point me on how to assign the window.location.href in a separate file when the search query submit happens.

Hi :),

I would suggest you to use the default functionality(since v1.5.0) for submitting the search forms. To use the default functionality you should specify the search URL for the search forms in the html code and assign a name for the search input. The rest should be handled in app.js as a base functionality.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks.

Hello, I have having some issues with the admin panel. I can open and login to the site with mobile but I can not login from my pc . can you check www.sazutech.99bigdeals.com , please help its urgent.

Regards, Sameer

Hi,

The URL you provides seems not available. Could you check it and advise ?

Thanks.

Thank you for the great work and nice updates. I looking forward to the e commerce update to complete my website.

Can you add something like Dismissable Alerts or Toastr Notifications to the front end please.

Hi :),

V1.6 is almost completed and we will release it it soon. Also we are thinking of merging the frontend and admin themes into one single theme so users can use the Metronic features in both admin and frontend themes. Please stay tuned on this.

Thanks.

That would be amazing !!!! I was thinking about the same.

Thank you again for the great support

You are most welcome! :)

Great. I’ll use it on geekltd.com

Thanks for choosing Metronic. Good luck with your project! :)

I’m really stuck on how to make new menu items become highlighted and visible after I click them and page refreshes.

I transferred the static menu into a new page sidebar.php which all my pages now include.

Trouble is when I now go to some of my new php pages from the menu – the menu goes back to showing Dashboard in Red and closing my menu section.

I am unsure how to set the active in the side bar using php

Has anyone got a sample of how to do this please.

Hi :),

I would suggest you to learn the menu’s HTML structure first so please check the how the active menu link is set on each template pages. After that you build the logic in sidebar.php that generates the sidebar menu properly for each page.

Thanks.

Dears

i wounder about the support of ie9 as when we open the metronic on ie9 version it doesn’t work fine all the left navigation is not working

Hi, how do I add and rearrange search fields (dropdowns, filters, etc..) in the editable tables portal?

Hi :),

The JS code of the editable table example is defined in assets/scripts/table-editable.js. To customize the input controls you should modify some code in “editRow”, “saveRow” and “cancelEditRow”.

Thanks.

ive tried that and im getting an error with the position of the edit and save button. ive got 8 col plus the 2 edit col 10 total. when i add the additional col and rows the edit and delete button end up inside one of the inline form fields.

function editRow(oTable, nRow) {
               var aData = oTable.fnGetData(nRow);
               var jqTds = $('>td', nRow);

Hi :),

Sorry for the late reply. We just got a chance to attend to your comment. Please try to use below code in assets/scripts/table-editable.js:

function editRow(oTable, nRow) {
    var aData = oTable.fnGetData(nRow);
    var jqTds = $('>td', nRow);
    jqTds[0].innerHTML = '<input type="text" class="form-control input-small" value="' + aData[0] + '">';
    jqTds[1].innerHTML = '<input type="text" class="form-control input-small" value="' + aData[1] + '">';
    jqTds[2].innerHTML = '<input type="text" class="form-control input-small" value="' + aData[2] + '">';
    jqTds[3].innerHTML = '<input type="text" class="form-control input-small" value="' + aData[3] + '">';
    jqTds[4].innerHTML = '<input type="text" class="form-control input-small" value="' + aData[4] + '">';
    jqTds[5].innerHTML = '<input type="text" class="form-control input-small" value="' + aData[5] + '">';
    jqTds[6].innerHTML = '<input type="text" class="form-control input-small" value="' + aData[6] + '">';
    jqTds[7].innerHTML = '<input type="text" class="form-control input-small" value="' + aData[7] + '">';
    jqTds[8].innerHTML = '<input type="text" class="form-control input-small" value="' + aData[8] + '">';

    jqTds[9].innerHTML = '<a class="edit" href="">Save</a>';
    jqTds[10].innerHTML = '<a class="cancel" href="">Cancel</a>';
}

function saveRow(oTable, nRow) {
    var jqInputs = $('input', nRow);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[0].value, nRow, 0, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[1].value, nRow, 1, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[2].value, nRow, 2, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[3].value, nRow, 3, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[4].value, nRow, 4, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[5].value, nRow, 5, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[6].value, nRow, 6, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[7].value, nRow, 7, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[8].value, nRow, 8, false);

    oTable.fnUpdate('<a class="edit" href="">Edit</a>', nRow, 9, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate('<a class="delete" href="">Delete</a>', nRow, 10, false);
    oTable.fnDraw();
}

function cancelEditRow(oTable, nRow) {
    var jqInputs = $('input', nRow);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[0].value, nRow, 0, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[1].value, nRow, 1, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[2].value, nRow, 2, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[3].value, nRow, 3, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[4].value, nRow, 4, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[5].value, nRow, 5, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[6].value, nRow, 6, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[7].value, nRow, 7, false);
    oTable.fnUpdate(jqInputs[8].value, nRow, 8, false);

    oTable.fnUpdate('<a class="edit" href="">Edit</a>', nRow, 9, false);
    oTable.fnDraw();
}

Also you will need to change the datatable html code accordingly and make sure that table column headers match.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks.

Hi and congratulations on your good work.

Do you think we can have a language switch bar placed also in the login screen?

Thank you.

Hi :),

Yes, you can have a language bar in the login page right after the password input. You can the select2 dropdown with country icons from form_component.html under “Select 2 Dropdowns -> Country List”.

I hope the above info will be helpful. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks.

Hi :),

I guess want to set the active link in the sidebar menu for each page. I would suggest you to do it in your server side(using php code) instead of using the browser cookie.

Lets say you have page ID on each page’s URL and you can the page ID to set the active menu link by adding “active” class for the active link’s parent “LI” element. Also you should browse the demo template pages and learn how the active link is set for each template page. Thus you can understand how to use “active” class and add this rule to generate the sidebar menu.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks.

hi

it would be very nice if we have the chat layout in this theme. I mean similar to chat layout in the facebook. ( fixed popup at the right bottom corner of the page whenever user chats)

Or do you have any idea from where i can get these plugins?

thank you

Hi :),

This feature is not available in Metronic yet. We will consider it in a future release.

In the main time you can google and find a few facebook like jquery chat plugins – https://www.google.com.my/search?q=facebook+like+chat+jquery+plugin

Good luck with your project!

Thanks.

Hi again!

Could you also please consider updating the google ‘Open sans’ fonts with subset=all so that your theme works out of the box with other character sets such as ISO Latin 1, Latin CE, Greek and Cyrillic character sets. eg. http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:400,300,600,700&subset=all

Thank you.

Hi :),

Thanks for the suggestion. We will definitely consider this in a future release.

Thanks.
