Sometimes when I load my page the headers and icons do not load… have you got a fix for this please?

Hi,

I’ve visited your website and I can’t reproduce the issue. Anyway, if you have this problem it’s probably related to a wrong configuration of your server. Because the icons are included in a simple CSS file and the images are “simple images”.

The next time that you will have this issue, do not refresh the browser. Try to open the dev tools (in Chrome or Firefox) and check if you have an error.

I have installed the theme successfully. It was a breeze! The only thing I cannot figure out is how to get the contact form to display in the footer area:

Thank you!

UPDATE: Never mind, I figured it out.

Glad you solved :)

Hi,

No, I’m sorry. You will need to customize the theme yourself to add that section.

360Dunamis

ok, is this some thing easy to add in the CSS?

360Dunamis

Also, what about the space where the logo goes, can that be made larger to fit a larger logo?

lollum

Hi,

Regarding the first question, yes it’s easy but you need to know a little of HTML and CSS.

For the logo, you can upload an image with your preferred size. But you can’t have in the same line a large logo and a menu with a lot of voices. So you need to reduce the width of your menu. In short, few voices, because you need the space to allow a large voice in the same line.

yes, that’s about it, I do know very little on CSS and HTML (more on that) I would think it would just be adding 1 line of HTML code to the index.php file, I was hoping you could tell me where to drop it on your theme, that’s all…if not, I’ll have to find another theme.

lollum

It’s very simple, you just need a line of HTML in the header. Yes I can tell you the exact code.

360Dunamis

great, and I’m assuming we can determine the font and font size there too, and putting in anywhere in the header.php should be fine? Last confirmation and then I am buying your theme today :)

lollum

Hi,

Yes, you can choose the font and the font size. But this section will be above the header, not inside or below.

360Dunamis

ok, thanks, about to buy.

360Dunamis

ok, I bought your theme, can you please send me that 1-line of code…

lollum

Hi,

Add this code in metronomy/header.php, after the body tag (before “BEGIN branding”):

<div id="top-header">
    <div class="container">
        <div class="row">
            <div class="span12">
                <span><i class="icon icon-phone" />+123-456-789</span>
            </div>
        </div>
    </div>
</div>

And this code at the end of style.css file:

#top-header {
    padding: 5px 0;
}
#top-header .icon-phone {
    margin-right: 5px;
}
#top-header span {
    font-size: YOUR-SIZE;
    font-family: YOUR-FONT-FAMILY;
    color: YOUR-FONT-COLOR;
}

I just installed this theme and love it. It is so easy to make my site look like the demo. Thanks for such great documentation and a user-friendly interface. I have a couple questions:

1. I set the google fonts in the theme options, but they aren’t changing. 2. On a regular page with the default template, how do I get the sidebar to show? 3. I would like to insert a widget in the home page layout. (OptinSkin widget). Which page element is best for that? Do I create a post with that shortcode for the OptinSkin and insert a post window page element? 4. Can I get the social media logos to the header area of every page?

Thanks for the help in making this theme perfect for me. Penny

Hi,

1. I see a different secondary font in your site: Oswald. It’s working fine. Remember to set also a different primary font.

2. You can’t use a page with sidebar with the page builder. You can upload this file (rename it in template-page-sidebar.php) in the root of your theme if you want. But in this case you can use only the default WordPress editor.

http://pastebin.com/RYxHa32G

3. I don’t know how OptinSkin works but you can use the “column” block. This block accepts HTML code and shortcodes.

4. You need to modify the theme. Insert this code at the end of your style.css file:

http://pastebin.com/KDjTtDaC

And this code in header.php, just after the open tag (after the line 48):

http://pastebin.com/DXkvRi79

It’s a basic implementation, if you need an advanced style you need to customize the CSS yourself because this feature is not part of the theme.

1. Why am I not seeing it? Oswald is a very tall, thin font, and I’m seeing a squat, bold font for my menu and titles. 2. So you’re saying I won’t have the page elements and those customizations available through your theme now for those pages? I’m ok with that. I will only have a few of those pages. 3. Great! Thanks! 4. I will have someone insert that code for me - I am great with wordpress dashboard, but don’t know any code. :)

Thanks for your help!

lollum

Hi,

1. Yes, I’m sure, check this image:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/48106753/oswald.jpg

Also, Oswald is not thin.

To change the font menu you need to select the primary font (currently set to “Open Sans”).

2. Yes, you can’t use the page builder with a page with sidebar, because the page builder was developed in a grid of 12 columns. With a sidebar you will break the grid system.

4. It’s simple. Just open these two files in your WordPress dashboard (Appearance > Editor) select the file on the right and paste the code.

Your support is awesome! Thanks! Is there a way to get additional fonts into the theme? I really wanted to use the Google font, Covered by Your Grace, for my menu and titles.

Default-user

Can you also tell me which element is controlled by main fonts and which is secondary fonts? I’m changing secondary fonts but not seeing any changes when I refresh the site. Thanks!

Default-user

I pasted those codes in the areas you told me. You can see the boxes for the social media logos at the top, but the logos aren’t there and and they’re not linked. WHat did I do wrong?

lollum

Hi,

Where do you have pasted the code?

The code is not inside style.css…

Regarding the fonts, you can’t control additional the fonts from my theme panel. You need to modify the theme yourself.

The primary font is used in all your text except in:

- the page header - the call to action title (bellow the slider) - the heading block title - the heading-image block title - the call to action title (at the bottom of the page)

In these sections is used the secondary font, see this screenshot (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/48106753/fonts.jpg).

To add another google font, as I said, you need to modify the theme. You can link another google font in header.php, adding this line somewhere inside the <head> tag, before the wp_head() line (45).

<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Covered+By+Your+Grace' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

In this way you will have the font ready to use. To select the exact title you need to know a little about CSS and HTML. You need to select the exact class of the element (you can use the Chrome or Firefox inspector). For example you can change the title of the service columns in this way:

#content .lol-item-service-column h2 {
   font-family: 'Covered By Your Grace' !important;
}

I’m sorry but I can’t be more precise regarding CSS/HTML/Inspector because these modifications are not part of my support policy, please understand.

Thanks. I will work on customization. It seems the portfolio pages aren’t working. I’ve created two on two separate categories so far. One is filtering just that category (http://pennywilliamsauthor.com/portfolio-books/), the other is not (http://pennywilliamsauthor.com/portfolio-adhd/). I can’t figure out why.

lollum

Hi,

Do you have selected “Yes” in the “Filterable” option?

Default-user

I did not. I selected it on all portfolio pages and looked again. Seems to be working now (I obviously need to make all my featured images the same size). The template for all these pages is portfolio right sidebar though, and the sidebar doesn’t show on any of these pages. Have a missed a setting somewhere?

lollum

For sidebar I mean the project category filter, that is on the right. You can add a content to that page and it will be visible in that area, like you see in my demo.

Default-user

Alright, got it. That was definitely confusing, as most themes use sidebar to denote where widget sidebar would be. So, the sidebar in the widgets dashboard only appears on blog pages, correct?

Do you have optimal image sizes listed in documentation anywhere? Or at least the ratio size for blog photos and portfolio photos?

Thanks again for all the guidance. This truly is the easiest theme to create custom pages with—it’s just taking me some time to get used to the way you set it up. :)

lollum

Hi,

Yes the sidebar is visible only in the blog page and in the other template you have asked me.

These are the sizes of the images (they are cropped):

770×351 // Post thumbnails 1170×531 // Page thumbnails 770×577 // Project thumbnails 770 x unlimited) // Single project page

Default-user

That was incredibly helpful to create a consistent look. Thanks!

On my portfolio projects, the urls that I put in the project template are not linked. Can you tell me how to fix that bug? Here’s an example: http://pennywilliamsauthor.com/portfolio/helping-child-adhd-succeed-school/.

lollum

Hi,

In metronomy/single-portfolio.php modify this code:

http://pastebin.com/hkjxEiEW

Hi I have bought your theme, but the video on the home page when I click on this it takes me to You tube How do I set this like demo, as my visitors come of the site and go to You Tube, and on your demo this does not happen . Also the photos do not seem to work or load up correctly, and on home page on our site no photos are working. We have set the theme up and added content, but we are having problems Please see http://ipswichtilers.co.uk/?attachment_id=413 Could you please clarify this, as we are unsure what to do, as the video and pictures do not work correctly Thanks in advance
lollum

Hi,

The video redirects the page to Youtube only if the screen of the browser is less than 600×520px. If I try the block in your website with a large screen it works.

Regarding the attachment, yes there’s an issue in my theme. I’m sending an update right now. Meanwhile you can solve the issue deleting these lines (166-168) in metronomy/core/includes/config-theme.php:

$cat = get_the_category($parent->ID);
$cat = $cat[0];
echo get_category_parents($cat, TRUE, ''.$delimiter.'');

Best Regards

Default-user

Hi Thanks I am unsure how to delete the above lines and I really need these images to work. Can you provide clear info how to do this, as for the video it does work in demo Is there anything I can do at my end. Thanks Liz

lollum

Hi,

Just download the new version from Themeforest because the update is available. And you will fix the issue in the attchments.

Regarding the video, as I said is working in your website. Or do I missing something?

Best Regards

Default-user

Hi Right OK So iis the new theme ready to download, as it does not say there was an update in April.

So I just download again and activate the new theme and then the problem will be solved.

Thanks Liz

lollum

Hi,

Yes I’m sorry, I’ve not already updated the changelog. But yes, there’s a new version available that will be fix the issue in the attachments.

Cheers

Default-user

Thanks Last question Is it the wordpress only file I need to update Thanks

lollum

Only the theme.

You can upload and replace the theme (the folder called “metronomy” inside the package downloaded from Themeforest) via FTP.

Or you can go in your WordPress dashboard and:

1. Switch to another theme (Appearance > Themes) 2. Delete Metronomy from the dashboard 3. Upload the new theme zip file (metronomy.zip) 4. Activate the theme

Your content not will be deleted.

Default-user

Righr OK Will the layout and slider be OK Sorry I am a little unsure Thanks

lollum

Yep!

Default-user

Can you provide me full instructions how to fix the atatchments, as I do not see this, and I need to fix this Thanks

lollum

Hi,

As I said you need to UPDATE the theme. You’re still using the version 1.19. Update the theme to the version 1.20.
