This is a beautiful theme, but I’m worried about compatibility with updated plugins. Shouldn’t this be automatic and quick?

Hi davidsons, This is the most extended theme available on themeforest and will be updated and compatible with all plugins as mentioned on theme’s feature page including their updates. To prevent issues for now, we’ve asked our clients to run on the wp/plugin versions as sold, and update wp as soon as we’re ready.

Maybe you should get a bigger team so you can keep up with the updates as they come out??

The way I see it, there should be a very active change log that states the theme has been updated and tested to the last version of WP and supported plugins.

Waiting for weeks is really not an option, as most of us have clients and they don’t like broken websites. Why should we pay $60 for a theme that doesn’t keep up with the latest standards?

Most theme developers know when updates are coming out and are quick to have their theme tweaked and tested so that there customers don’t come on here and complain.

Just my two cents…

Warning!

Stay away from themedutch. Their themes doesn´t work in Explorer. This have been pointed out to them for over a month and they have promised that an update will come soon. It didn´t. Instead of fixing the bug, they give you arrogant remarks about patience. If you want any kind of normal support you gotta pay extra.

I payed 60 bucks for this useless piece of crap and have lost way more than that by having been stuck with a website that doesn´t work. I was also stupid enough to believe these guys when they promised a quick fix, and thus lost even more. I will now have to spend a lot of hours redesigning the site in a theme that actually does what it says.

Never more Theme Dutch.

I have hesitated from commenting as I wait patiently for the updates for WP 3.5/3.5.1 and my clients (as I am sure all the members here are) are miffed

We cant edit the sliders – there are missing components with the WP upgrade and too many issues to mention

I know youre aware of it but this is really a problem with such a feature rich theme- I have a client with over 500 products and 35 slider galleries that need to be updated regularly and this is not acceptable

We thought long and hard about this MilkMag purchase as it truly is a beautiful theme but if the updates are supplied by the end of the week we will be requiring a refund

Hello Lerosia, we know our clients are waiting for an update. Besides the wp update, we also need to update Woocommerce and Buddypress, since they have updates too. The theme needs to be tested thoroughly before we upload it, which we try do do as soon as we can. Therefore we’ve asked our clients to stick to WP 3.4 to avoid issues. Thank you,

But downgrading is not an option for many reasons s security and other plugins and updates aside

While we understand these updates take time – you were well aware of Wordpress’s updated and its been over 2 months now

So can you give a definitive answer as to when your update will be ready? If not I am afraid the clients will require a refund

Hello again

FYI – i am posting this for informational purposes only not to slam the theme dutch team – your themes have served me well over the years

But .. I am also very frustrated and have also tried solutions

But I, as well as others I am sure, have to answer to some very angry clients right now with this theme

Our update: We attempted to revert back to v 3.4.2 of Wordpress ( as suggested) and it didnt fix the broken theme in fact made things worse – the elements that broke were stil broken( in our case the sliders can no longer be edited) amongst other things (IE being a nightmare)

The only solution is a clean install from scratch on 3.4.2 – trouble is our client has well over 500 products and a very busy business and no time to redo their whole site – aesthetics being different in every theme – everything has to be adjusted

We have been very patient and polite and understand you may be short handed – and that the theme has to be thoroughly tested ( all developers had the 3.5 beta and know to test before release) but that is not our issue

Support response has been rather snippy admonishing us for continually asking for updates on the upgrade which doesn’t sit well with customers

So they ( our client) have decided if a reinstall is going to to be it will be on a new theme with solid support and updates and that means more work for me without getting paid

The client will be requiring a full refund ( and quite frankly if this theme isn’t compatible with 3.5.1 fully I have no need for it anymore either as it worries me for future updates)

I have been a frequent purchaser of your themes over the years (i have bought all of them) and have been very happy but this is a problem

I do have to say I also take full responsibility for not checking first to see if this was compatible with 3.5 and the reason I didn’t is because its never been an issue before and I updated over 125 sites using commercial themes and MikMag was the only one that broke so this taught me a valuable lesson as well

With that being said, we understand this is a powerful theme and a very beautiful theme but maybe too much was put into it ( is BuddyPress really that popular of an integration? – just asking)

Good clean coding is imperative and shouldn’t be sacrificed IMO – I am sure your update will be thoroughly tested and we may revisit it later but that doesn’t appease my client right now whose site isn’t in working order during their busiest season so we are looking for a refund and to buy another theme sadly

Hello Lerosia, Thank you very much for writing your post and explaining everything. Mikmag is a very comprehensive theme and requires a lot more work and testing than most other themes. One of our developers resigned in December and we’re working overtime to catch up again. We are also having interviews with experienced applicants. We will not be using it in the future for fear of this update issue happening again

Hi,

Can you please kindly give an estimate of when an update is coming? The site not functioning in IE8 or IE9 is a huge problem for me and is jeopardizing a major product launch worth big $$$. I would prefer an update to first fix incompatibility with IE8 & IE9, then a later update for buddypress and woocommerce.

I am starting this as a new comment to ensure it does not get buried in older pages.

While i sympathise with your situation losing a developer at Christmas and now playing catchup, we have not had any news from you on the expected delivery date for a WP 3.5 version for very a long time now.

I am not alone in waiting for this release as you know and we are all waiting patiently (as you keep telling us to be patient) but your latest response to Lerosia (who is abandoning ship for another theme) suggested you were interviewing developers only 5 days ago.

Please tell me – if you were interviewing 5 days ago – does that mean there is no one on your team capable of updating Mikmag? Or is it just that capacity is your problem?

Basically i want to know if the MikMag update is actively being worked on now or is it awaiting a new team member to come onboard? If it is awaiting a new team member when is this expected to happen and how long do you think it will take them to get up-to-speed with this theme if they are coming to it ‘cold’.

All in all I really need to know when we will get the 3.5 release please.

Hi Theme Dutch You did not answer my specific questions: 1) does no-one on the old team have the skills to do the update? 2) if the new staff member is coming on-board specifically to do the update how long will they need to familiarise themselves with the existing code before they can deliver the update? and 3) How long before you expect the update to be ready now please? This is the best wp theme in Themeforest market: design and function set both are perfect. Exactly what I need now. Hope, the author team will update it to WP3.5+ soon, I’m going to buy it after that (yes, I have already read all topics here, but please, show me some better wide designed theme with premium slider, shop and BuddyPress on the board?)

My products will not open on a mobile device (specifically Iphone and Ipad). Is this a theme issue, or a woocommerce issue?

A follow up to the question above. I looked at the sample site on my iphone and the products open correctly in woocommerce. BUT the sample site is not responsive. Is there a way to shut down responsive on the site?

Really loving this theme, so much stuff it’s one of the best I’ve ever used, only one thing: Recent Posts Slider Shortcode is broken. It will only show ‘all’ categories, no matter if I change the variable to category ID, post slug or the entire category name spelled out exactly has named. Any suggestions?

I am having an issue with the post featured image section. It seems to be shrinking the image to 377×200 and then stretching it in the feature image section to 650×360, so the image is getting distorted.

I wasn’t able to find a way to fix it within the functions file.

Can you please give me an easy fix for this.
