Ok! I will give Fancybox 2.0 a shot and will let you know how it works out!
Quick question Alex. What is the best way to modify the text that goes into the Fancy box picture pages? I have filled out the text in the “title” section of each of the larger pictures that appear after you click on the thumbnail versions. The issue is that the text is obviously pretty generic and I would like to create a css class or something for the text that appears in the box of each picture.
I had a feeling that it was a CSS class but I wasn’t sure to where to place it or the syntax that I needed to use. The Fancybox site isn’t very helpful on this issue. There are demos but there are few direct explanations of the best way to attack this problem.
At any rate, I’m pretty much done with my modifications and I look forward to updating Fancy Box and changing the text so that I can launch the page! Again, this is one of the best templates out there and it’s really well documented and designed. Nice to see a template that follows best web design practices!
I’ve replied you via email. Lets continue there and I’ll help you set it up.

Hi Alex, everything working well apart from this one minor issue: the black background for the footer is in line with the text rather than (as in your demo) in line with the white background column running through the centre of the page. I havent changed the style.css page. Any ideas?
Could you possibly send us a link to a live preview of your site so that we can figure out what issues are you experiencing? It’s probably something minor that happened during the editing of the HTML and not the CSS . Maybe a lacking class or a tag that’s not closed. A link would help a lot.
Hi, sure it’s: annaharnmeijer.nl
Thanks a lot for your time.
I took a look at your site and realized that while you edited the HTML of the template you have misplaced a lot of the DIVs that create the structure of your template. The “tree” is pretty much messed up. Please get in touch with us via the contact form on our site (http://qbkl.net) and we’ll answer back and help you sort it out.
The launch of jQuery 1.9.0 has created a big impact on quite a few of the most popular jQuery plugins around, mainly lightbox-type of plugins as some of the functions became deprecated without rollback support.
In order to stabilize your website and still use your favorite plugins you’ll need to operate a minor change to your code and add an official migration script provided by jQuery. Here’s how to do it.
1. Go to <head> section of your file and find this line:
2. Just below this line add:
3. Reupload your file to the FTP and everything should be working properly with the latest jQuery release.

Alex / QBKL,
Thank you very much for your quick response and support.
You are most welcome!
I am having a problem getting recent tweets to show.
I notice it is not working on your sample either. My site is http://www.jumiku.com/resume
The Twitter API has been changed and you should replace
Will also update the files now to use this API call.
Nice work !
Just a little question, have an idea how can I transform this webpage in PDF ?
Thanks a lot !!!
You can use a service like http://pdfmyurl.com/ to convert webpages to PDFs. This is a free tool, but it does leave a watermark with their URL on each page (does not interfere with the content). The watermark can be removed if you pay for the service (yearly fee of approx. 15 Euros or $19).
Is it possible to change it so that a single column stretches the entire width of the space – as opposed to a third or two thirds width?
Thank you very much in advance.
Hi, yes it is possible. Instead of adding columnd divs inside the class=”section_content” div, you add your content in directly, and like that you don’t have any column separation, just full left to right content.

Hello, this is a great theme. Thanks a lot. Unfortunately I am unable to load tweets and I have updated with the latest code and included my twitter name too as below but it hasn’t worked. Is there something else I need to do?
<!- In the line above, replace "Blogsessive.json" with your own "username.json" to pull your latest personal tweets ->
Twitter has just released yet another version of the API, which as always rewrites code and renders old scripts useless. Thing is they now require authorization via any kind of server side scripting in order to retrieve something that’s already public (timelines). We’re working on finding a solution to overpass this restriction as we do not want to include server-side programming in the template, nor do we want to include their “timeline badge”.
We’ll keep you folks updated.
Hi Alex. I am playing around with the backgrounds and noticed that the gunpowder and paisley background patterns do not seem to repeat properly when viewed online, but when viewed locally they repeat properly. I have published the page to a Linux-based server. I tried a couple other backgrounds and the khaki works well.
Hi there and thanks for the purchase!
I’m not sure what to say abouy the issue you experience. As stated in the documentation, the backgrounds used are third party and I have tested them out myself while developing the template and they behave properly, seamless that is. I know they should repeat properly so without seeing them in action, if you can provide a live link, and a screenshot of the error too, I don’t think I can help much since I and other users never experienced such issues before.
Alex / QBKL
ok, thanks. I will send you a link shortly.
I will play around with it a bit more. Thanks for your help.
Hi Alex! I love your design and am so excited to use it for my online resume. I am very new to ALL of this and have been using online links to get to this point… I have a WP account hosted by Bluehost. When I tried to install the theme I received an error message about a missing stylesheet. I found this link that explained it probably was an upload error and nothing wrong with the theme, but their instructions did not work for me…
Will you please help me figure out how to install my theme on WP???
This is the message I am getting…
“Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme install failed.”
The problem you are having is that you are trying to install it as a WordPress theme, when this templete is not a theme, it’s – as the title, section where it is located and description state – a HTML template. My advice would be to follow the documentation that describes what you need to do in order to set it up and put your own information inside and follow the sample file included and you should be wrapping it up in no time, with a bit of basic HTML knowledge and the documentation.
If you’re in need of further advice while trying to edit it, I’ll try to guide you as best as possible.
I am trying it for the first time and after a few alterations my footer is not longer aligned as it should be. Here is my site :
what did I do wrong ?
Thank you for your help
I took a look at your code and compared to the HTML file packed it is all messed up. There is a chance your editor somehow removed a lot of ending tags for the script inclusions in the head section. At least 3 of them are missing the ending tags and thus the whole head structure falls apart.
In regards to the footer, due to the improper editing (not properly following the DIV open/close structure), you basically moved sections 6 (portfolio) and footer inside section 5 (Education), and all of them together inside section 4 (Word Experience).
Also the editor you used kind of messed up the Google Map inclusion code adding a lot of unneeded HTML entities.
I would suggest getting a decent HTML editor and starting over with your documentation file close. The file is written in such way that all code elements shout have a tree-like TAB-based indent so you can easily follow which element opens and closes where. Try not to intersect items cause it will lead again to such a displacement.
Focus on editing the simple texts until you get a good grip of the file’s HTML structure.
PS: If you keep trying and you don’t manage, shoot us a message/email through the form on our profile and I’ll try to help you set it up.
You I eddited it with a simple text editor and it without problems ! Thank you for the quick reply and the help. Awesome design, by the way.
Please make PSD / Printable version!
Hi, I hope someone could help me with the following problem:
Somehow the German umlaute like üäö are not displayed correctly in the navigation bar whilst using Chrome.
In Safari everything seems to be fine.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there, any chance you could please post a link to your site so that we can take a look?
Thanks for the very fast reply. Check out http://crmkonzepte.de/test/ for an example.
OK, solved it. It was the line-heights for #nav,, which cut the dots.
Hi there, oh, glad you figured it. We weren’t using any special characters at that time so we missed that. As you figured out, a line-height of 1.2em should be enough on those items to make the dots appears.
In your downloaded examples, I have just noticed that the classes – “my_name”, “my_profession” and “section_title” ( possibly others too ) are supposed to be centered, but are around 7 pixels off to the right.
I have looked everywhere in the css but cannot find the cause.
Could you please look into this and possibly advise me how we get them to be centred correctly.
Thank you very much.
Hello and thank you for the purchase! The issue you observe is not really an error but a default rendering of font properties by browsers. Texts are properly centered but as you can see, the spacing between letters is a bit increased through CSS letter-spacing. The extra spacing is added by default to the right of each letter which creates a bit of extra space at the end of each word. If this creates too much of a visual issue, you could fix it in the definition of those classes by adding a bit of left padding to emulate the extra right space (7px).
I have edited this theme in dreamweaver and it all looks good. I was hoping to email this Resume as an HTML document, like I have with other HTML templates. Although, when I insert the HTML file the documents structure all breaks apart. Is it possible to email this template, or does it need to be a hosted webpage?
MinimalMe is a HTML template meant to be used as a website, self-hosted. It is not coded in an email format (tables), which is most likely why it breaks when trying to do so. It would be best if you host it somewhere and just link it in your emails.
Thank you for the purchase,
I’m trying to properly set up the contact form in the footer and I can’t get it to send (I don’t receive an email or any indication that something is happening). Do you know what I’m doing wrong?
Hi and thanks for the purchase!
One of them is the Twitter calling script, which you aren’t using. You can safely remove it fully. Right before the closing </body> tag, remove these 4 lines:
<!-- In the line above, replace "Blogsessive.json" with your own "username.json" to pull your latest personal tweets -->
Also, since jQuery evolved meanwhile, you’ll also need to load the jQuery Migration script right after loading jQuery in your template’s HEAD tag. Locate:
And replace it with:
Please apply these 2 changes and let me know if it sorts out the issue.
The good news is that I now see, “Your message has been sent. Thank you!” But I don’t actually receive an email.
Sorry to be a pest!
Don’t worry about it! So, if you see that confirmation message, it’s really good news. The script doesn’t give you that message without actually sending the message into the wild. The idea is to see if you actually received it. I think you did, but…
My first thought, since you’re using Gmail, is that the email has landed in the SPAM folder. Gmail is a bit more extreme with these filters than Y!Mail or the others. Check it out please, then let me know if that was the case.
Tried a couple times and a nothing in the spam box.
