Thanks for quick response!

I notice that theme is rendering correctly itself for particular screen size but not making the view fit to screen. I mean, I have to squeeze my fingers to make it fit to the screen.

You have set sidebar width to 280px and if you’re intended to show banner ad sized of 300×250 it won’t. The actual size of current display ad on the live demo sidebar is 280×230 instead 300×250. Please fix it, otherwise html will force to crop the size and might be load time issue.

I was confused at first then I realized there has been a caching problem with the web server, the zooming issue was already fixed two days ago, it should be ok again now. Thanks for pointing that out. (Tested on iPhone retina and soon to be tested on other devices.).

About the sidebar ads is not something to fix, on the contrary it shows the flexibility of the ads widget. As you say the sidebar is 280px wide, the perfect use for ads would be 2×125px + spacing, but if you upload a 300×250px banner it will still fit in the sidebar reducing it proportionally by 20px. There is no cropping or loading time issues.

If you have specific needs I’ll be glad to help you any further as a customer. :)

Thank you

Hi djwd

Quick question, the featured slider on the homepage, is this controlled by pulling articles from a certain category or from tags?

Regards

Sean

Hi Seanct, None of them actually :)

You have a simple Featured metabox in the post page to check for each post you want to show up in the slider:

Hi,

hi,

Unfortunately I have some problems with the theme:

1. No paragraphs are set.
http://healthnewsnet.de/berliner-charit-weitere-fruehchen-erkrankt-712189

2.The Twitter fans do not appear (widget)
3.The tweets are not shown (under the contributory)

Greetings from Germany

Hi DrDisco,
Thank you for your purchase.

1 – Since most people separate paragraphs (wrongly) with keyboard line break, automatic spacing between paragraphs is disabled. I can set that up for you though.

2 and 3 – That is pretty odd, there has been no problems so far with twitter widgets. Are you sure are you setting your twitter username only without any url, @ or # ?

To better dig into this it would be probably easier if you can give me access to your wordpress admin. Please send me a private message through the options panel if you can.

Thank you,
djwd

I am having the same issue with the twitter fans—when i click on the count it goes straight to my page—i’ve verified that this is now url, @ or # and it’s saying my count is zero.

in addition for Facebook likes for each post—instead of saying ‘like’ it’s reading ‘mi piece’ I’m assuming this is spanish but how do i adjust to english???

Hi redstaralliance and thank you for your purchase,

Please download the latest version (v1.01) to fix the facebook button language.

I’m investigating about the twitter followers issue you are having., I’ll tell you something in the next hours.

Thank you

Default-user

I downloaded and installed the latest version and it broke my website.

The following error is appearing on all pages as it breaks: Fatal error: Exception thrown without a stack frame in Unknown on line 0

It’s also causing the review widget to fail.

In addition the issue it was supposed fix, the Facebook button language—the button isn’t even showing up now.

I am going to rollback to the previous version in an effort to restore my website (theredstaralliance.com) and will wait to hear back from you in regards to when this issue has been fixed.

Default-user

So, I’ve tried to roll back to V1.0 and the website is still broken.

I’ve then tried to completely uninstall the theme and install V1.0 again to no avail.

I was able to remove the sidebar widgets—specifically the social counter and it seemed to fix the issue. Hope this information helps—i’m assuming its because you are doing some sort of work on the twitter issues.

Hi DJwd!

I would like here to call you a serious concern that themes basic functioning is not proper. As you know, a lot user will buy this theme to start a new blog, but in my case I want to migrate the old design to this new one.

So, if I would install it on my well running blog, the theme has no control over what to display and not to display on index page.

It will display complete post content on front (homepage) if I don’t add <!-more-> tag. It shouldn’t be like this.

As my current theme control exerpt length automatically, so I never inserted <!-more-> in my old posts. Now if I will change my theme to Minimosity all the post content will be on front (with featured image).

Using Minimosity I can insert image in my post on top because Minimosity will put the top image of post and featured image together on index page.

Please fix this asap, either I would never be able to change my design to Minimosity. I have more than 1500 post on my website and I can’t edit and insert <!-more-> tag.

Hi

I’ve just ran into a strange problem… My site feeds (slider, review ticker and page backgrounds) have suddenly stopped working. The pages have been working fine until I updated some text on a page and clicked update. It seems the footer has disappeared too.

You can see the site here: http://matt-barker.com/

Should I reinstall the theme? I don’t want to loose the little content I’ve got on the site so far.

Thanks in advance.

Hopefully it can be fixed pretty soon.

The issue appeared due to an unexpected twitter API change.

Fixed version with totally renewed social counter will be available as soon as it gets approved (usually a few hours).

Anybody needing a quicker fix can private message me through my profile page.

Apologies for the down time.
Thank you

Hi djwd

That’s great – thanks for sorting it so quickly. How will we know once the new version has been approved? Will our dashboard ask us to update theme?

Thanks.

Thank to you for making me notice that MattBarker, and for your purchase of course.

Hi djwd Can’t see any updates in my dashboard yet…

Can you give it a nudge!

Just a quick question about the banner sizing mentioned by techsnapr.

300×250 is a standard size banner as I’m sure you are aware, but my concern is the resizing to fit the sidebar as this would disappoint customers who purchase the standard size 300×350 banner, or possible issue with google adsense. Would it make sense to resize the sidebar to allow for common size banners?

Thanks in advance.

Hi erap,
You surely have a point. I will seriously consider about including this modification in the next update (scheduled for October 26).
Thank you for your interest,

djwd

I see this did not make it in to the update and that you may consider doing this for the future.

Magazine/news style websites make a huge percentage of their income from advertising, so by not allowing standard size adverts, then your theme is not properly geared for it’s intended purpose.

Best wishes

djwd
djwd Author

I understand what you’re saying, but have to disagree with your last statement though. 300×250 is surely common advert size, but it’s not the only one. You can still place:
250×250, 240×400, 180×150, 234×60, 120×90, 120×60, 125×125, 160×600, 120×600 in the sidebar.
300×250 could be still placed in the main content, as long as all the other sizes up to 580px width.
468×60 or 728×90 in header.

So I wouldn’t say that Minimosity theme is not geared for its intended purpose, and actually most of themes in the first page of this very category have a 280px sidebar or even smaller.

That said I’ve menaged to find a way to let 300px sidebars without damaging the layout, and will be included in the next update (already uploaded, waiting for approval) :)

Thank you for you interest and contribution,

Best

I made my statement on the back of your comment in response to another referencing my comment above

“I ‘ve been considering adding that as an option as said, though I realized this needs too much tweaking (especially with tablet version) and I couldn’t bundle it in this update, so I decided to might keep it for further updates.”

This to me made it unclear as to weather you would ever implement the change due to the tweaking needed, and as a publisher, the need for advertising is far more important than any other feature and I’m really pleased this has now been addressed.

Thank you for listening.

djwd

I know in fact I could’t make it in the October 26 update but I could in the last one, among with a few other cool features. :)

Best, djwd

Hi I’m still getting a jumbled mess on my website and my WP dashboard hasn’t prompted for the update yet. Can you email it to me asap, so I can work on the website please. I’ll PM you with my email address…. Thanks.

No update yet? This is weird since it was approved 22 hours ago. I’d suggest to download it again and just check for it to be v1.0.2. If it’s not sure I can send it to you, waiting for your PM.

Cheers

Hi, could you make the Flickr image boxes square (within the footer)? They look slightly squashed and are distorting the images. Thanks.

Glad it worked.
Flickr thumbs have that size to keep consistency with theme grid and other thumbnails, but unlike others you have no control over the content. Actually that distortion bothers me too…I’ll find a solution to bundle in the next update. :smug:

great, thanks. Sorry, just one more question… Is there any way of removing the frames from around select images? For e.g. if I place a transparent .PNG (without background) onto the grey page, I still get a frame around it – which fills with my skin colour when i mouse over.

djwd
djwd Author

Yes there is, copy this line and paste it at the very bottom of layout.css file:

#single article .entry-content img:hover {background-color: #f2f2f2!important}

If you want the image frame to be completely white (now it’s light grey) on normal and hover state paste this instead:

#single article .entry-content img, #single article .entry-content img:hover {background-color: #fff!important}

Hope this helps,
djwd

Hi djwd This is better, but what about removing the frame completely? Can this be done, so there was nothing around my images at all? Thanks again

djwd
djwd Author

Hi MattBarker,
Ok then replace the code I gave you before with this one:

#single article .entry-content img, #single article .entry-content img:hover {background-color: #fff!important; border: none!important;}

PS: Please use the reply button so conversations about the same topic can be grouped together. :) Thank you

No problem MattbBerker! Actually I forgot to mention that it’s way better (and easier) if you paste those lines of CSS in the Theme Options > Advanced > Custom CSS textarea so you won’t lose your changes with the next updates!

Good luck with your work,

on the top left, there is a list of the items that are on my menu. They don’t look like they’re supposed to be there and I would like to get rid of them. it starts in the top bar where the search bar is also located. How can I get rid of this?
