If you are a designer buying this template please be aware that Digital Cavalry inserts their name into all metas so that when you post the website anywhere it says: www.YOURWEBSITE.com YOUR DESCRIPTION OF THE WEBSITE… WWW.YOURWEBSITE.COM|BY DIGITALCAVALRY

Still have not found a way to remove it. I will not purchase a second license for another client until there is an easy way to remove the credits. I can understand credit when the theme is free, but paid and in the META search results?! No way! I had to switch to another template.

Hello,

There is no need to scream about this. If you don’t know how to change this meta, all you need to do is send us a question.

You can easily change this in one file. Open header.php file located in the main theme folder and at the top you can edit the meta author which is set to Digital Cavalry.

...meta name="author" content="DigitalCavalry"...

This line looks like this and it is just set to Digital Cavalry by default, but you can of course edit this line – just change the value for content property.

Please can you send me the XML content file. Thx.

Hello, I just sent you an email with response. Sorry you had to wait for this. We usually respond within a day or two on support messages.

I hope you are reading this, I have tried already numerous times on your contact form to reach you. No response yet. I have requested the XML file for this theme over and over again…. as it’s not included on the files when purchased.

Hello,

I am considering purchasing this product and have two quick questions before making the purchase.

1 On the post content, is there a way to display entire posts on the front page, instead of cutting the post off with ‘Read More”?

2. Is there a way to make the box of the boxed content larger in size (less empty space on left and right of the page)?

Thank you Best Juliana

DigitalCavalry

Hello,

1) Yes, you can achieve this just by leaving the excerpt field empty and not using more tag in the post content field.

2) I understand you want to make the content area larger (wider). I think this should be possible, but only with some modifications and it could be some complicated modification (mostly or only in CSS code). It would need some testing and development and I don’t have a ready solution for this change.

Thank you for your interest!

Hello,

I have purchased the item and installed it. Now I am having trouble getting the posts and the menu to display on the main page. (posts and menu not showing on main page) What settings should we change from the default to have them show?

I have set the front page settings to “show latest posts” and selected a menu as the primary menu. (they will show up when using other themes)..

Thank you for your help, Best Juliana

Hello,

Thank you for your purchase!

1) In regards to Homepage and recent posts display. You need to create page with Homepage page template and in Settings > Reading section you select this page for option “A Static Page: Front Page”. You don’t select any page for “Posts Page” option and don’t select any other option here. Now you can decide to display recent posts on homepage (or some other homepage template features) using options located in section MElegance > Home.

To display posts on homepage you can use section MElegance > Home > Homepage Posts Main Stream. Here you need to select option Display homepage posts main stream and click on Save for this subsection. You can also use some other customization option from this subsection.

2) In regards to the main menu, in Modern Elegance you can create this menu in two ways – use WordPress menus or theme menu. If you want to use WordPress menu system, you just need to have a menu created in section Appearance > Menus and for this menu select option “MElegance header main menu” in Theme Locations (option available also in section Appearance > Menus).

But, I see there is one option missing for the menus that will disable the theme menu. A simple fix is needed that will disable the theme menu when WordPress menu is used. Please send us an email using contact form located in our Theme Forest profile here and I will send you back a simple fix for this. We will also include this simple fix in next theme update.

Is this theme compatible with the latest Wordpress 4.0.1?

DigitalCavalry

Hello,

For this moment I can say it is compatible with latest WP version (4.1), however when running on the latest WP – Lightbulb feature will work only in Text editor mode (not in the Visual mode). We will release soon a new update that will fix this issue – it will make the theme fully compatible with latest WP version.

How I can set the description in dcwp_RecentPosts widget (Like the theme live Demo)? Thanks

DigitalCavalry

Hello,

If you ask about post excerpts for the widget – for this you can use Excerpt field. This field will be displayed at the bottom – when you edit your post – but if you don’t see this field, first you need to select “Excerpt” option at the top in Screen Options.

Hi. Some shortcodes do not work with the latest version of WP.

DigitalCavalry

Hello, please, can you give us any more information about this so we can check this. About which exactly shortcodes you write?

Dobrodukh
For example, like this. By pressing the Insert nothing happens. http://pushkiniana.ru/wp-content/uploads/Image-1.jpg
DigitalCavalry

Hello, thank you for explanation and screenshot. Actually this is a Lightbulb problem in Visual editor mode – the shortcode should work fine when it is inserted in the content, if I am not missing something.

When running on the latest WP – Lightbulb feature will work only in Text editor mode (not in the Visual mode). To insert the shortcode you can switch to Text editor mode and then use the Lightbulb feature. We will release a fix for this issue with the next theme update, so it will work also in Visual mode.

can u do something on Featured image.. because when we add featured image in PAGE COMMON SETTINGS, and share the page in Facebook.. it doesnt showup.. It comes as blank until we have inserted images in body.. can you guys do something on this… thanks a lot.

DigitalCavalry

Hello,

Sorry you had to wait so long for our response. I think it is beacuse the featured image option is not used. In the theme – for the post image – the main image option (in Custom Post Settings section) is used instead. I think this needs some modification in the code. For this moment I don’t have any ready solution for this, but we will try to look on this. It should be possible to change it with some future update.

Modern Elegance theme seems not to be compatible with last wordpress version 4.1. Images on Slider and all other featured images that we add through Theme custom post setting simply shows Loading and Image is not displayed at all. When I click on Lightbox, I am able to see the Image… I have deactivated all Plugins and checked once again. Its the same. Re installed Wordpress once again… Still the same.. Can you please check where is the issue. This Theme use to work before with prior versions of wordpress. If you have a temporary fix also.. .. Please send it to me. thanks.

DigitalCavalry

Hello,

I think you write about problem with thumbnail image loading that is related to timthumb script. We will try to change this solution to something else in future if possible, but for now this script is used. It is not related with WordPress version compatibility.

To make it work you can just read the full instruction located in the PDF User Guide file in part: 3.5.2. Thumbnails problem (timthumb). It must be allowed to save files in “cache” folder located inside the theme etc. This instruction should help to resolve this.

Also, as for the timthumb, you can make sure the latest version of the script is used. For this you can check the instruction below:

To download the last version for timthumb script, just go to this page:

https://code.google.com/p/timthumb/source/browse/trunk/timthumb.php

You can save the content under the link “View raw file” located on the right side of this page. Then you must change the name from timthumb.php to thumb.php and insert it into theme folder on server.

Still Issue is not resolved.. Can you fix the theme issue as soon as possible

DigitalCavalry

Hello, like I wrote above, it is not a theme issue (we want to change this script to other solution in future, but it should work like it is currently with no problems). This is related to server settings that probably don’t allow thumbnail script to work and you need to check permission for “cache” folder on your server and if thumb.php file allowed to execute. You can try to set both 755 or 777 permission for this folder and see if this helps. If not, you can also ask your host about this – if it is possible to change permission settinigs for this folder. You can also search for timthumb and your host name in the web, maybe there is some instruction specific for your host that will allow you to adjust this part.

I want the latest post to appear on the home page under the slider just like the sample preview. I set the blog category on the home page page settings. In the them settings, home page setting I chose “Display homepage blog post thumbs” under slider with same category chosen. Nothing is there. What am I missing? http://monica-bailey.com/
