Cache file is set to 777. Posts have featured images.

Featured image not appearing in mosaic or on the /blog/ page.

Here’s how to make the Blog posts work in the Featured section: you have to make a Blog Category called “Featured”, assign your Blog Posts to that category, then go into the Mosiaco Featured Section settings, select one of the blog layouts and then under Slider Category (Homepage) select the Featured category, then click the Save All Changes button at the bottom of the page.

My question to the Author is: Is this only supposed to work in the one category? If so why does it give you the option to select a different category? For example I made a category called “Test Category” and assigned the Blog Posts to that category, then selected it in the Mosaico settings, but it would not show any posts. As soon as I changed it all back to Featured category, it works fine.

Hello, you can select any category (of course with posts),
only one condition is that the Category ‘Slug’ must by the same as category name Category: Test Category -> Slug: test-category
(http://codex.wordpress.org/Glossary#Slug).

1) Is it possible to change the style of the social networking icons on the homepage?

2) Instead of manually entering shortcodes for the social sharing buttons in every post, is it possible to add them into then post template? [twitter style=”vertical” float=”left”]

Pretty sure somewhere in this discussion someone asked about changing the length of the post excerpts shown on a category page. Can’t find it now.

How do you change the number of lines from a post it shows on a category page? At the moment, each post shows about 17-20 lines with no paragraph breaks – just one long block of text.

Is it possible to show 7 or 8 lines only from a post and then with a ‘read more’ link?

Hello, if you want to control lenght of content and use “more” button open medpost.php (..\includes\post-types.. folder) delete last line and paste there:

Hi there,

I love your theme but I have a pre-sale question.

I’d like to create a Home Page grid like your demo, where the images can link to either portfolio pages, blog posts or regular content pages such as “About Us” with either full width or sidebar options.

I’m wondering how much control I would have over how many images appear in the Home page grid? Do you have screenshots of the admin panel?

Yes, you can link to blog post, Portfolio posts and images/video (in lightbox).. but you cannot link to pages.

I have a quick question – I’d like to use this primarily as a blog, so is it possible for the landing page to be the mosiac, with the blog underneath? Basically, when you check it on a mobile I’d like the first page to be the blog.

My other question – can I create a portfolio with links to Flickr?

Is there any way to shorten or specify how much summary text shows on the blog page? For example on our site:

That first post is quite long so readers have to scroll down quite far to see the other posts. So i’d like to shorten it if possible.

Your method worked for shortening the text summaries but would it be related to the error i’m now getting when trying to access the dashboard now:

Something wasn’t edited correctly in functions.php! Replace/restore old functions file.

Ok i’ve fixed that now.

As far as I know though all I did was reduce the number on line 132 in functions.php. Any reason you think as to why it would’ve had that problem? Is there a minimum value it needs to be?

Me again. Okm I’ve replaced the text in the medpost.php file with read more but it still doesn’t work.

There is an answer you gave above about changing the functions.php file but this didn’t work either.

Each of my blog posts contain a ‘read more’ tag after a couple of lines, but the /blog/ page still shows the full post instead of where I cut it off.

You can use this solution – in medpost.php delete:

<?php the_content('Read more...'); ?>

and add this:

        <?php global $more; $more = 0; ?>
        <?php the_content('Continue Reading'); ?>

Oh and another point is that the Tracking Code is being inserted into the wrong place.

Many websites will use Google Analytics and the code should really go before </head> tag.

Just helpful advice.

Tracking code is on right place – in the footer. It is better solution, pageviews gets counted more realistic.
