First, if you haven’t, try downloading the latest version of Motivation v1.2. It should fix any issues you might have with the mobile version. If you’re still experiencing problems and want to remove the responsiveness altogether, delete this line from the head of html files

<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/media-queries.css" />

First of all, this is a great looking template. With the latest updates it renders beautifully on an iPad and it’s so well documented, it’s a breeze to work with. Should be the standard for any product.

On top of all of the above, the responsiveness when you have an issue is just incredible.

Well done!—I look forward to more templates from you!

Very nice template. I’m facing one issue. After using this template the code snippets I wrapped in pre tags is not displaying properly in my iphone and they are kind of cut-off.

Can you help me on this?

Hi, thanks for using Motivation, I really like what you did with the template :)

I see that you’re using syntaxhighlighter, and the cutting off of content is its default behavior. If you look closely when you visit the page on desktop and narrow the browser to the about same width as the iPhone, you’ll notice that a scrollbar appears so you can see the hidden code. Same thing applies to the iPhone, when I scroll to the left on the code snippet , the hidden content appears…

I too thought about the same. Thanks for clarifying that. My best wishes for more sales and I’ll recommend your designs for others.

Hello,

Thank you for a great and fun theme to work with!

My client is selling a product on the site I am developing for him. In the future, we may need to install OpenCart or some other eCommerce system, therefore, I would think I will need to create a separate, static html page… or is there an eCommerce platform that lends itself to a single page layout such as this?

Please offer suggestions.

Thank you!

Hi, I really prefer the look of your “Temptation” theme but its not responsive design. How complicated do you think it would be to use the “Motivation” theme framework but convert it to look like Temptation?

Is this theme wordpress compatible?

This is almost a perfect template. Editing was flawless to really make the template my own.

On the demo site you are using a background picture, how do i do that?

jezh

Hi,

The image used in the demo doesn’t come with the template. You can purchase it here.

Resize the image to around 1920×1080 px and save it as pattern-11.jpg and place it inside img/backgrounds/body/ (where all other pattern images are). The class is already styled in the style.css so just apply the class of .pattern-11 to the body element.

IMPORTANT

If you decide to use fixed fullscreen background images for the body, you’ll need to place the fallback bg class for the iPad as it won’t render the fixed images properly.

Open the custom.js and locate //iPad BACKGROUNDS. Use any of the classes with repeatable patterns (pattern-1 – pattern-10). By default the code is commented out, so you’ll need to remove the comment tags to make it active.

Hope this makes sense :)

How I can activate the contact form? where I personalize my email?

jezh

Hi, everything you need to activate the contact form is in the submitemail.php file. The instructions can be found inside the help file within the documentation folder.

Great work with the template

Just having a slight issue with the contact form (using template v1.3) I get the following message when clicking submit Notice: Undefined variable: emailerror in /clientdata/apache-www/s/h/shedslabs.com.au/www/submitemail.php on line 32

Also is it possible to add an extra field to the contact form “Phone”?

Hi,

I really like the template. I just wonder if the documentation is complete. When I look in the folder Product -> Documentation -> help.html, I only see the A-section ’’html structure’ of the table of contents. The other items aren’t clickable at all. I really like to get the rest of the information to fully use the template! Thanks a lot!

jezh

Hi, to open the other sections of the help file click on the plus icon at the end of the section title.

Hello Ivan, I’m very sorry, but in Firefox as well as in Safari I can’t see the plus icon at the end of the section title. Can you help me with an other solution?

jezh

hmm, that’s weird, not sure what’s going on… Either way, contact me through my profile page, and I’ll send you the working help file.

Ivan, just started working with the template. Very nice. How would you recommend implementing the “Read More” or “More Info” buttons? Would you go about using a single page for a “Read More” option or some kind of toggle panel? Not sure what your intention might be and I like to follow the thought process when you envisioned the template and how it would be used. Is there a template for a single page other than the blog post, or would I need to modify that? Thanks for any guidance or ideas here.

Best… Skip

jezh

Hi Skip,

For external pages you should use the blog-post.html as a template. Now, as for the other usage of such buttons, you can target other elements within a page and scroll to them.

To do so you’ll need to add a class of .local to the desired link (or button) and inside its href place the ID of the element you wish to scroll to. For example to scroll to the About page which is a div with an ID of #about, I would create a button like this:

<a class="button small-btn local" href="#about">Read more</a>

It’s basically a way to move around the page without using the navigation menu.

Hope this makes sense :)

Best regards,

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

Am really loving this theme, although I am having 1 slight problem…. On the site demo, when you click each item in the menu, it has nice smooth srolling to each section, however, on my site, once you click each item it just snaps to each section… Any ideas?

Cheers Alex

jezh

Hi Alex,

Not sure what’s causing the issue. Have you done some customization or it didn’t work out of the box? Check if there are any js errors on the page.

If you can, send me the link to your site so that I can take a look.

Best regards, Ivan

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for the quick response… I am assuming it didn’t work out of the box as I customised the blue one, uploaded it and it didn’t work, so I deleted it from the server and uploaded one I hadn’t touched and that didn’t work either.. Tried it on the latest safari and Firefox for Mac.

Hi Alex,

There seems to be an error with the jquery version 1.9.1, try using the latest pre 2.x version. You can copy it from here and try it with the template – jQuery 1.10.2

Great looking theme, however it doesn’t actually work as the demo does and you won’t get any support from the author. Save your money and purchase a theme that actually does what it says it does and whom the author will help should the files be not as advertised.

jezh

Hi alex,

I’m truly sorry you had a bad experience with the template. I know it’s a bit late but if you’re still having issues, I’m happy to say that I finally worked out a solution to your problem.

If you wish, contact me through my profile page so that I can send you the fix.

Hi,

Apparently, you still haven’t configured your Twitter API and that is causing the issues (all of them).

Inside the js/custom.js file comment out the Twitter feed code (from line 50 to line 60) to stop the site from breaking. In order to configure the Twitter feed just follow the steps covered in the documentation/help.html under Twitter Configuration. If you won’t use Twitter then just live the aforementioned code in the custom.js, commented out.

This worked for another buyer who had a similar problem, hopefully it will work for you, too.

If you still have any questions, let me know.

Best regards,
Ivan
