First things first. If you’re new to OpenCart then I suggest that you take a time and familiarize yourself with how to use OpenCart and what it offers.

Where do I find installation instructions?
The installation instructions are provided in HTML format inside a folder called “Installation-Instructions” that is included with your purchase.
What is the slider images dimensions?
Slider images dimensions: 980×380px
How can I add banners?
There are no special instructions for this. Adding banners is the normal procedure for OpenCart. Proceed as usual. Banner images are placed next to each other automatically. All you need to do is follow the optimized banner sizes.

What is the optimized banners sizes?
Here is a optimized banner sizes (width x height):
One column – one banner: 934×120px
One column – two banners: 460×260px
One column – three banners: 301×160px
Two columns – one banner: 698×105px
Three columns – one banner: 468×105px
Note: Widths of the banners are very important and must be preserved. Heights may vary depending on your specific needs.
Can I customize banners according to my needs?
Of course. PSD files included with this theme, giving you the opportunity to change the logo, banner or slider design. These files are located in downloaded folder “PSD”. You need to use Photoshop to edit these files.
Note: Using these psd files are optional. You can create your logo, banner or slider design yourself, using any image editing program you want. You need to follow only the image (banner) sizes which is indicated in the installation instructions.
How can I change the background color of the ribbon sale?
It’s an image and you can find it in
catalog/view/theme/mrcarter/image/ribbon-sale.pngUse Photoshop to edit this image.
Note: Remember, the image size (27×62px) and name (ribbon-sale.png) must remain the same. Otherwise, you must also change stylesheet.css file.
Can I use translations (multi-language)?
Yes, you can use translations, but you need to download and install them yourself. See here: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension&path=2 Make sure that the language module is compatible with your OpenCart version.
Note: this theme also contains some specific translations. These are easy to add. Just follow the installation instructions: “Installation” section -> “Step 2: (Translations – adding theme language)”.Also you can change the translations yourself if you want. Open folder:

Select the folder or file you want to modify, then open it. Find the right words and change them.
On the product page, my zoom button says “theme_zoom”. Also on many places displays the text: “theme_view_more”, “theme_close” and so on. How do i change this?
This is because you have not followed the installation instructions properly. Please follow the installation instructions: “Installation” section -> “Step 2: (Translations – adding theme language)”.
Note: If you are upgrading your OpenCart then you need to follow this step again.
How to translate the “Mr Carter Carousel Tabs” module?
1) Copy the file:

4) If you discover that your translations are not changed, then go to your admin panel:
“Extensions” -> “Modules” -> “Mr Carter Carousel Tabs” (click edit) -> and just click on the “Save” button.
I’m having a problem adding Featured products to the “Mr Carter Carousel Tabs” module. How can I add them?
Step 1: Go to the “Featured” module first and add products (start typing product name on the autocomplete field). Click “Save” button.
Step 2: Go to the “Mr Carter Carousel Tabs” module and just click “Save” button.

On the product pages, once I click on the alternate image, I cannot get back to the main image. Can you help me figure this out please?
You just have to add this image.
If you choose to add alternate images, then do not forget to add the main image. Your product -> image tab -> add image.

This is because you have not followed the installation instructions properly. Please follow the installation instructions, section: Image Size Adjustment -> Step 1.

How to automatically scroll the “Carousel” module?

It is possible to make the hover/cloud zoom, zoom in further/more detail?

Can I use 2 or 3 columns on the product page?
Yes but you need to do some code modifications for better results. I do not recommend the use of 3 columns (too little space).

Is it possible to align menu links to the left? Because if there is only 2-3 categories it looks wierd in the middle.

Can I modify the code myself?
Yes, but you must always keep in mind that if you modify the code yourself then you do it at your own risk. You must to know what you are doing, otherwise errors may occur. Make sure that everything works properly. Or ask someone who does this for you.
CSS Customizations:If you want to make changes to the theme through CSS, edit file “stylesheet.css”.

If you would like to edit a specific section of the site, simply find the appropriate label in the CSS file (use Firefox extension called “Firebug” to do that or “Chrome/Safari inspector“), and then scroll down until you find the appropriate style that needs to be edited. If you do not know how to use “Firebug” or “Chrome/Safari inspector”, you just search on Google or YouTube. I believe that you will find some good tutorials.
Note: Is a good practice to backup your files before making any upgrades or changes.
Can I use third-party modules?
Yes, but you must always keep in mind that if you use a third-party modules then you do it at your own risk. Not all third-party modules may not be functioning correctly.
This theme (and any other custom theme) isn’t compatible with all third-party extensions by default. It’s impossible for theme author to make the theme compatible with all existing extensions. They are all originally built for the OpenCart default theme.
You’ll probably (not always) need to adjust the extension (to make necessary code changes) to make it work properly with your theme. Most common case is a conflict if the extension override the theme file(files). In such case you need to customize conflict file(files).
If possible, contact with the extension author and ask him what exactly has changed in the original file and then make the necessary customizations. If you are not able to do it yourself, then hire someone who does this for you.
Note: Please ensure that all third-party modules you are using is compatible with your OpenCart version. Remember, I do not provide support for any third-party plugins or problems associated with using them with my themes.
Also, keep in mind that too many modules, scripts, themes, modifications and so on… is never a good idea (there may be conflicts between them). Use only what you definitely need and make sure that they are working on.

My site does not work properly and some errors occurred. What should I do?
If any errors occur, or something is not working properly then please answer these questions first:
1.) Are you convinced that you are using the correct version of the theme (compatible with your OpenCar version)?
2.) Have you uploaded all the files correctly?
3.) Have you installed the theme correctly (followed the installation instructions carefully)?
4.) Do you use/have used a third-party modules (including language packs)?
5.) Are you convinced that all third-party modules what you are using is compatible with your OpenCart version?
6.) Have you modified any code yourself (OpenCart core files or theme files)?
7.) Are you using some sort of scripts?
8.) Are you convinced that your server supports OpenCart 100%?
First of all. If you’re using any third-party modules (including language packs), then step by step remove all of them and see which one is the troublemaker.
If you’ve made any changes in the code then I recommend you restore original code as much as possible and see if it helps.
If this does not help then try to install the theme again (fresh install, no code changes). Remove all old files and replace them with new ones. In most cases, it helps.
Note: For best results, is recommended to use fresh installation of OpenCart and please make sure that you follow the installation instructions carefully.
What is your support policy?
Support is offered to verified customers only! As author of this theme I provide support only for my items which I created. This means that I will respond to questions which are directly and strictly related to this product (errors and bugs reports, also pre-sale questions).
I do not provide support for any third-party plugins or problems associated with using them with my themes.
Also I do not provide theme customization services. In fact, the ThemeForest policy states explicitly that each item is sold “as-is”. If you want to customize your site and you are not able to do it yourself, then hire someone who does this for you. However, if it is really a small request and involves only a few lines of code then I can do it, but definitely it’s not the rule.
