Discussion on NASH - Responsive HTML5 One Page WordPress Theme

Sorry just two little things:

1 – The scroll down feature for the Client logo’s seems to land half way over the logos (just a little too far down), where do I go to adjust this, just so it stops above the logo’s instead of on them.

2 – The permalinks have been set to custom structure of / category / postname /. But I still get the name of the original portfolios posts you guys have included with the theme showing up, even though I have changed the content and titles of them. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong here?

This is the link to the site: www.aldoyle101.com

Thanks in advance! Jenny

Hi Jenny,

1 – The ‘scroll to’ feature is really set for sections of a certain height, dimensions (ie; About Us) it was never actually intended for the section dividers, which are much narrower in height. The only thing I could suggest is adding some padding top & bottom to that container in the CSS so the logos appear a little further down when scrolled to.

2 – As you have imported the Demo XML, you will need to go into each of the portfolio projects and ‘Edit’ the Permalink for that project to your new project titles. This can be found under the Project title.

Many thanks

Hi!

Great theme…really loving it so far! Everything has been going smoothly, but I do have a couple questions. Above the “About Us” section (between the homepage and the About section) there is a strip of white that is showing above the top of that About Us section, not sure where it’s coming from? You can see it here:

http://dev.labargemedia.com/

Also, in Chrome everything looks great, but in Firefox, none of the icons I’ve added through Font Awesome (like you instructed) are showing up. They just show up as rectangles with a couple pieces of text in the middle. Do you know what might be happening?

Also, a couple of feature requests: 1. clickable client logos 2. pagination on the portfolio items (after a certain amount of projects…maybe 9…there are numbers to view different pages of projects. Instead of having it just being an endless line of projects)

Thanks so much! Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Hi LaBargeMedia,

I see you have fixed the header height issue.

On occasion you can have this issue with the icon fonts and Firefox. Here is a great post that may help you with this issue -

https://github.com/cdnjs/cdnjs/issues/755

Will look at implementing those features into the next version of Nash.

Many thanks

Hi Friend! Where do I edit the Stylesheet to remove the thin two lines (border/ break) on single page posts?

Thanks!

guuthemes

Hi Talklaunch,

Find this CSS in style.css -

.meta-author { display: block; border-bottom: medium double #999; padding-bottom: 10px; }

And remove the border-bottom declaration.

thanks

I have a question mate,

when I share the website in to Social Media platforms such as : Facebook or LinkedIn , the Thumbnail shows pictures from latest projects instead of company logo or homepage image ?

How can we fix this ?

Cheers,

Nar

guuthemes

Hi Nar,

Could not honestly say with that one?? Whenever I have shared other sites on FB etc.. they have shown an image from the portfolio, or slider.

thanks

Hi,

I’m getting no love over in the support forum. :) I want to change some of the font colour to green on the home page by adding

<span style="color: #6DB33EF;">Cashew and Clive</span> but it is not working. Any suggestions? http://developers.ttsistemi.com/cerretocavalli.com/

Hi,

Your color hex value has 7 digits, it should only have 6 (ie; #6db3ef)

Hey bro,

I deleted the big square orange box that contains the text Yes we do some awesome things … but the background image is really small – how do I extend the image area and not have the orange box with text?

Thanks for your support

guuthemes

Hi gbnz,

You would need to add a height to the element -

#header-global[role="banner"]

found in style.css. This would then give you a fixed height for the header area.

thanks

cool sorted :)

Hello! Really loving your theme, we’re using it here: http://ilab.luiss.it/ But the navigation menu of the portfolio items (in our case the events) doesn’t work. Two categories were set (‘Past events’ and ‘Next events’) and portfolio items were put into these categories, but the navigation menu doesn’t work (when clicking on ‘past events’ or ‘next events’ ALL the portfolio items disappear).

Do we have to set up three categories i.e.: “all events” as parent category and then ‘past events’ and ‘next events’ as their child categories?

Thanks very much in advance, Chiara & Federico

guuthemes

Hi Chiara/Federico,

Very strange?? Have never seen this before, and your site is showing no errors. Could you please open a ticket at the support forum and I will investigate further -

Hi! I repeat a question we did days ago, maybe it passed away. Can we have an answer, please? “Hi! We’re really happy with the theme, but we have two issues we don’t know how to solve by ourselves: – In the mobile devices, we can’t show correcty the logos of some of our clientes. It only shows two of the five logos we have in this section. – The second issue is related about what is shown into the URL. It works correctly but, if you navigate into one of the post and come back to another section, the URL shows the #section and stands that way even if you change the section. That’s our web: http://selenus.es (it’s in Spanish). I guess it will be more helpful if you can see it Many thanks in advance!!”

guuthemes

Hi jagomezrivera,

Have you edited any of the theme files? Stylesheets etc..? I just mention this as viewing the source of your website, the style.css is very different from the original Nash preview, hence why your logos are not performing correctly on mobile devices.

The URL showing in the address bar is just a default action at present. I may look at tweaking this in a future update.

Many thanks

We love this theme too!

In the Homepage Layout Manager I only find one button for each section. Is it possible to use the sections more than one time? For example – how can I add 3 services-sections oder 5 quote-sections?

Thanks!

guuthemes

Hi slowwater,

You currently have pre-defined ‘sections’, and would need to edit quite a few theme files to add more sections.

I have noticed in the past, theme authors having these ‘sections’ as ‘pages’ which is totally un-semantic, as they are not actual pages in the WordPress sense, but are sections on a page, hence why I chose the correct and semantic way of doing things.

Many thanks

Hi,

It’d be very helpful for me to be able to add html to some of the theme options fields. For example, if I try and add a to one of the icon text fields (to change the color of just that text) it’ll change it temporarily on the site, but in the theme options it “breaks” that text field until I replace it with just straight text. Is there something I can do to enable HTML to be allowed in any text field in the Theme Options panel?

Thanks!

Hi,

I have installed the theme, Nash and it seems to act like a web page, rather than a landing page.

For example, I cannot seem to create the heading menu at the top of the page.

When I create pages they appear on the menu, when I click on then they take me to a seprate page rather than scrolling down on the one page (landing page)

Please can you help me?

Thank you

guuthemes

Hi luli,

Have you made sure that you have set – Front Page Displays – Your latest posts in Settings > Reading

Have you also read through the documentation? This will assist in setting up the theme correctly.

thanks

Hi, Apologies for another question. I’ve been through the documentation and support forum plus the discussion topics but not found an answer.

I’m after creating a Location page. In doing so I’m using a google maps plugin which is all good. If I create a page all works well with the plugin except.

Page title is range left – looks really out of place with the site, therefore would love it centred.

When i click the menu item location – it doesn’t scroll nicely to the page and agin it looks out of place with what has been created… is there a way for it to scroll like the home section?

The ideal scenario would be to have the google map plugin part of the contact section so if there is a way to this then that would be sweet.

cheers :)

guuthemes

Hi gbnz,

I would personally recommend Pronamic Google Maps. You can insert the code into your footer.php template to say, appear just above the contact details. I have used it in the past, and found it works great.

Many thanks

The Service button doesn’t seem to work in Firefox. I saw that on several sites with the Nash thema. Does that sound familiair to you?

www.webschrijfster.nl. And another site I saw with the theme seems to have the same problem (http://www.karlijnfiesler.nl/, label here in Dutch is Diensten). Could be a problem with my computer? (windows) You would help me a lot if you could look. Thanks.

guuthemes

Hi elammers,

Works perfectly fine for me, with the latest version of Firefox on both Mac and PC.

Thanks. Here also latest version of Firefox but probably some other problems, so as it seems now. Lovely theme, should tell you that in the final reaction.

OK, its a really great theme, but now I bought it I can see that something I need is missing. What I would really like is one or two sections which are either free format or widgetized, so I can add the special announcements for non-run-of-the-mill services and features I want to promote on the front page. You know, the stuff we have to think about how we do it, because the client asks us, and not you.

Hi!

I deleted border-bottom declaration .meta-author { display: block; border-bottom: medium double #999; padding-bottom: 10px; }

And I’m still seeing the double line at the top of pages. What did I miss?

Thanks.

guuthemes

Hi Talklaunch,

I’m not sure if that’s correct one. The best bet would be to look through style.css, and wherever you see -

border-bottom: medium double #ddd;

Remove these.

Hope that helps?

thanks

Default-user

That was it. h1 { font-size: 60px; line-height: 75px; margin-bottom: 20px; letter-spacing: 1px; border-bottom: medium double #ddd; padding-bottom: 20px;

Thanks mate.

guuthemes

Hi Talklaunch,

Great stuff, glad things are all good.

Hi! Great theme, and still room for creativity.. thanks!

2 questions: For the header i would love to have my logo always centered (like on mobile devices) and the menu, instead of ‘floating’ trough my photo, on the bottom of this section, below the uber-statement. Which files need alterations to get this accomplished?

And finally, Is it possible to duplicate and alter all the files combining the quote functionality. I would like the two quote sections to show different quotes instead of the same list.

Many thanks in advance.

Gr. B.

guuthemes

Hi buddy,

Thanks for your kind words.

You would need to edit header.php, and also make adjustments in style.css to achieve this.

Not currently. Both sections do show the same quotes, but they do start on different loop cycles. So for a user viewing your site, as they scroll through, they would be seeing different quotes as they go to each section.

Many thanks
