Never mind my last question about the slider. I found your instructions about inserting the target url into the image’s Caption field, and that did the trick :-)

I’m glad you have figured it out. :)

I’m doing SEO on my site now and I have a question. I have a slide element and I put in an alt text description in the alt field page in wordpress but when I look at the source code from my browser it doesn’t appear to be picking up that alt code. Do you know why would that be happening?

The ‘alt’ value is not only good for SEO, but it’s also required by the HTML standard.

If images are not hidden in the source (they don’t have ‘visibility: hidden’ or ‘display: none’ attributes), then yes, Google will see them and they can impact your SEO.

Ok that sounds great. I was seriously confused because viewing the source showed the slider images in a simple li array complete with Alt tag. I’m trying to drive traffic to my site and was very disheartened when you said google didn’t see the slides. I’m glad it was cleared up. You guys kick @zz. Keep up the great work!

Hi, does this theme work with WPML?

Yes, it does.

Hi,

I see that the sidebars all seem to be on the right side. Is there a simple way to modify this theme so that any sidebars (specifically sub-menus) would all be on the left side?

Thanks in advance.

For each page you can pick a template with left sidebar, right sidebar or no sidebar. The blog can have right or left sidebar (or no sidebar), but you can set it only for the whole blog, not for single posts.

I solved my issues

thanks

I’m glad. :)

On the demo site: http://themeforest.net/item/natural-powerful-responsive-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/2358157 I’m not finding shortcode examples for the several “Portfolios” listed. I also can’t find shortcodes for them in the dropdown list in Wordpress. Can anyone help with that?

Thanks!

This is not a link to a specific page, but to the demo iframe, so it always opens the home page. ;)

No, there are no shortcodes. This is a portfolio page made using one of available portfolio templates (2 columns with sidebar). You can find more details about creating a portfolio page in the theme documentation.

I understand. Thank you!

every time i try and upload on wordpress I get a ‘wordpress failure notice’ i have extracted the second .zip folder and tried to upload that but no luck. I have done a trial with another theme and it works fine. any thoughts?

Unzipped – upload the ‘natural’ folder to the ‘wp-content/themes’ folder.

thanks

seems to be working. many thanks. really appreciate quick communication. :)

How do I edit/set the homepage? I created a page and used the homepage template but it’s still just showing the blog on the homepage.. any help would be appreciated

Hi, i get this error from galleria: “Fatal error: Stage width or height is too small to show the gallery. Traced measures: width:430px, height: 45px” only on Safari for Mac and Safari for iPhone. This is my (opening) short code:

This is the site: http://www.residenzalapiana.it

Thank you!

I made a little tweak, but now I’ve replaced the mod file shortcodes.php in the inc directory with the original version. The shortcode is: galleria_images thumbnails=”false” slideshow=”true” image_crop=”false” height=”50” width=”344”

Now everything works fine on Safari, but the height of 50px is too small for iPhone (remember that gallery needs to be scalled down a little to fit a smaller screen). Besides, your gallery has the width of 570 px, not 344 px.

Thank you!

How can I make the Menu fonts smaller?

Add the following code to the Custom CSS box (Theme Options -> Styling Options):

.sf-menu, .sf-menu * { font-size: 12px; }

Fabulous, thank you very much

Hi there, just bought and downloaded the Natural theme. Tried to upload to WP, but received the following error:

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

Please help?

You are using a wrong file. You should use the ‘natural.zip’ file, not the whole package downloaded from ThemeForest. You can find more details in the theme documentation. You can also read this article.

Thank you very much for the quick reply! Got it working!

Is there a way to have a sidebar on a portfolio post? I havent been able to find the option for it.

No, at this moment it’s not possible.

Great theme, just purchased for a client , i want to use first on a multi-site then use on the clients domain.I am unable to get the sliders to work using the shortcode generator, could this be because of multi-site issue?

Yes, your issue is caused by multi-site. Please send me an email using the contact form on our profile page – I’ll send you a solution.

I’m wondering if there might be a code tweak to out the header menue above the header graphic rather than below it?

It’s possible, but it requires few header customizations and they can’t be done as a part of our standard (free) theme support.

Actually I figured it out and it just required swapping the header and nav wrappers in the CSS. No biggie.

I’m glad you have figured it out.

Hi, I’m trying to determine the optimal size in pixels of the responsive slider images. A friend is building out images for me in Photoshop and asked for the dimensions.

Thanks in advance!

Slider images should have the width of at least 1170px (they of course can be bigger).

Hello, I’ve struggled getting my images to show in the homepage slider. I’ve tried shortcodes and the Wide Header Content slider and none are working. The only thing that appears in the name of the image or slide. The site is at a temp URL http://74.220.215.212/~thrrranc/ Thanks in advance for your help!

I’ve logged in to your admin panel and checked the color picker once again. This is the screenshot taken from your admin panel: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2600317/color-picker.png As you can see, there are no issues. That’s why I have asked you for a screenshot – I would like to see how it looks on your end.

Good morning! Could you walk me through how i send a “screen shot?” I will send it as soon as I know how:0) I tried to copy the page, but the color square wouldn’t show. Thank you

You need to make a screenshot, not to copy the page. Please use Google to find how to make a screenshot on your operating system.

Hello, Can you please tell me how to add a alt text caption in the “lightbox” pop-up (next to the gallery nav & slide numbers) when using this code…

[scrollable title=”Gallery” height=”275”] http://imagesourcehere [/scrollable]
Please take a look at this page, the second image in the first example (expand the ‘Show code’ box below the gallery).
[scrollable title="Scrollable gallery"]
http://e404themes.com/natural/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/nelumno_nucifera_open_flower1.jpg;Image title
[/scrollable]

Doesn’t that just add the text to the top of the image? I’m looking to have it placed down at the bottom by the image navigation. I noticed on the “Standard WP Gallery” page. The first image, the Cerianthus membranaceus, has a different title at the top than it does at the bottom. Is this possible with the scrollable gallery shortcode?

No, this is not possible with the scrollable gallery.

Hi there,

I am using the responsive sliders template on my homepage, and I would like to reduce the white space above and below my header image and above and below the text in my “intro text box.” The goal is to have the sliders “above the fold.” Also, is there a way to remove the white border around the slider images?

Thanks!

To reduce the space above and below the header image add the following code to the Custom CSS box (Theme Options -> Styling Options):
#header { padding: 15px 0 20px; }
To reduce the space in the Intro Text Box add the following code to the Custom CSS box:
#intro { padding: 20px 0 10px; }
There is no way to remove the white border around the slider. In fact, this is not a border, but the content wrapper padding. If you want to have a full width slider you can use the wide header slider (example).

Fantastic, thanks!

Hello,

When I add a new Slide that has a Slide Title, the Title of the Slide shows up in the slideshow as a “caption” at the bottom of the slide. Is there a way to turn off the caption in the slideshow but still keep the title of the slide?

Each slider has the ‘titles’ param – if you set it to ‘false’ captions will not be displayed. For example:
[flexslider titles="false"]

Perfect. Thank you!

Hi, Awesome theme! Making my way through the site and making changes.

I cannot get the boxes to lineup on the page with the “Name, avatar, blurb inside the grey box”. I tried just hitting return and leaving space below the actual copy in the visual code section but it does not line up with the other grey box parallel to it when I update, not the boxes on the top or bottom are even with each other. See screencap jpeg link at bottom.

I would like to get these grey boxes to line up with each other so they are the SAME length OR they could all be the same size, one size (ie. as big as the first one), and then there would just be grey space under the boxes with less text but all boxes would be same size and line up with each other .

Or is it possible to make it so you can see the avatar and the first 5-7 lines of each blurb and then use an “accordion” for the reader to click on to read the full bio? That way all the boxes prior to the “accordion” being selected would be the same size and all lineup?

Any solutions you can suggest are most appreciated! Thanks a lot!!!

Please see screen cap below to illustrate my problem? http://i47.tinypic.com/103ipw8.jpg
If you want all boxes to have the same height you can add the following code to the Custom CSS box (Theme Options -> Styling Options):
.person-box { height: 300px; }
All other solutions are more complex and require some theme modifications.

Great, I will give it a shot on Monday! Thanks!
