Hi can the sliding banner be smaller? example 960px width?

sdjentertainment

As of now there isn’t any settings in the Theme Settings that can accomplish this. If your comfortable with coding you can jump into the snippet-banner.liquid file and add a bit of code to accomplish this.

If you need a hand with the code, just let me know.

Love this theme. Ever thought about a mouseover zoom on the individual product page?

sdjentertainment

Thanks. I thought about it and as a couple of people have mentioned it I might work into one of the updates.

Default-user

Awesome, thanks. Also, is there a way on the product page to have “items you might like” cross market to another collection?

sdjentertainment

You can check out the Shopify resources, they have a tutorial on how to accomplish it. Again, something on the list of updates.

can you upload vimeo content on this site?

sdjentertainment

Yes, you’ll have to embed it through the admin panel. So anywhere there is a WYSIWYG editor, you can drop it in.

Hope that helps.

How do you add a “search” feature at the very top of your site?

sdjentertainment

You’ll have to get your hands dirty in the code if your wanting a search bar at the top of your site. The template file you will have to edit is the theme.liquid found in the layout folder. From there you can edit the file adding in a search form. I found this quick tutorial that might help you out.

Hello i am new with those Shopify themes. Is it a Wordpress theme “Shopify ready” or is it a other backend ?

sdjentertainment

Hey martinetminet, Shopify themes only work with a Shopify site, usually a paid account. It uses a language called liquid. Liquid is similar to php to WordPress. Hope that helps.

Hi,

I purchased your theme and I’m looking to implement a gallery plugin and I’m having difficulty. I’ve written some jquery elements but I’m wondering is there a way to allow my client to upload images without editing the code? Is there any image gallery that works with this theme?

Thanks.

sdjentertainment

Hey andrewterlouw,

Thanks for purchasing the theme. I don’t know any off hand, but you can check out the Shopify apps (http://apps.shopify.com/) to see if anything fits your needs.

If you can’t find anything that will work, your best bet is to set up a plugin that allows you set things up with minimal coding. Then enter the code through the HTML editor in on the page where you want the gallery to display.

It is a bit tricky as you don’t have too much flexibility within Shopify as you do with something like WordPress.

Hope that helps.

Really nice! I’m considering purchasing your theme. Is there a way to show a product is ‘new’ similar to the way a product is shown on ‘sale’ ?

sdjentertainment

Thanks miguel_du. There’s currently nothing in the theme that can showcase a “New” icon on a product. There are ways you can achieve it through a little customization of the theme that make use of product tags. If you need a hand, just let me know.

this theme SUCKS! Just wasted $50 on nothing. Don’t waste your time! The product pages are ugly as shit

sdjentertainment

Hey dhuting,

Im sorry to hear this theme didn’t suit the look you were going for. I do post screenshots and a live preview of the site so you can see how the pages look and what the theme contains before purchasing.

If there is anything I can do please let me know.

thanks

sdjentertainment

Hey infinity270,

Square images are perfectly fine to use within the theme. I’d try and keep every image the same size with the same set up as much as possible to keep things even and consistent throughout the site.

Hope that helps.

is it possible to change the height of the carrousel in the front page? it’s all I need to know before I purchase.

sdjentertainment

Hey lauraxg,

You can upload any image sizes you want. I’d recommend making them all the same size so they are consistent, especially if your having multiple scrolling images.

The theme is good, but support is better… communication with developer is great, friendly and very helpful. sorted out numerous issues for me very, very fast! I easily recommend this theme to anyone based on the depth of support being given.

Well done SDJentertainment

Loving the theme. Is there any way to make the slideshow wider and go all the way to the outside of the browser? Thanks in advance.

Default-user

I apologize. I meant to post this on your Eighty Three theme. I was hoping to make the slideshow look like your Natural theme.

sdjentertainment

No worries. In order to get the slider to go full width (edges of the browser) you would need a bit of custom coding. If you purchase the theme and need a hand setting it up, just let me know.

Hi,

I noticed you recently updated the theme. :)

What changes did you do?

(Should I update my current version of Natural? If yes, how?)

Thanks!

sdjentertainment

Hey Nerubio,

The only updates made were to the snippet-releated-products.liquid file in the snippets folder. If you are going to update it, just open the new file with a HTML editor and copy and paste it over the file in your admin panel under Themes – Template Editor. This will avoid resetting some of you theme settings.

Hope that helps.

Hiya.. can you please tell me if there is a way to make the social media icons larger in this template? or upload with my own customized icons?

sdjentertainment

Hey theautumnrabbit,

The social icons are controlled the in the CSS under the .icn-social styles.

Open you style.css.liquid file and scroll down to line 293 and you should see font-size: 15px;. This is the value you will want to change.

Hope that helps.

Default-user

perfect thank you! And is there a way to change the social media icons to ones i create myself?

sdjentertainment

Yep, certainly. You’d have to replace the following in the theme.liquid file

<i class="icon-facebook" />

to something along the lines of

<img src="path-to-your-facebook-icon-img.jpg" alt="" />

Hope that helps.

Hiya… Can you tell me if there is an optimal image size and type (png or jpg) for the product images on this theme? I’m finding that some of my images just won’t load onto it… I click on “image chosen” and then choose my image.. and then it doesn’t do anything/?

sdjentertainment

Hey theautumnrabbit,

Sorry for the late response, this question got lost through cracks. You should be able to use any image size you desire. The largest image width would be 960px, which is the width of full content page.

As for you product images, it looks the best if you have a set size.

Hope that helps and I apologize for the late response.

Hello! I purchased your theme for a client of mine and it has been really great! I edited some of the code to get a static navigation bar with transparency and moved some of the basic elements around. My client would like to use the Fancy Box plugin. He would like the contact page looking sort of like this website – http://teamcornett.com/about though when you select on a name it would open a popup with a contact form.

I believe I can add the pictures but any advise on how to add the rollover to the picture?

Also I have looked up how to add the Fancy box plugin but I really do not want to break your theme, so any advise on how I can accomplish it?

General question: when shopify performs updates, will it remove the theme coding that I have either added or removed?

If you would like to see the page so far please let me know and I will send you the URL and store password.

Thanks in advance!

sdjentertainment

Hey melevitt,

Thanks for purchasing the theme. All the changes you mentioned can be accomplished with a bit of customization to the theme files.

- For the rollovers, you could use some CSS or a combination of jQuery and CSS to accomplish this. There’s a ton of free jQuery plugins that might be a quick option.

- You should be able to drop the FancyBox plugin into the theme. I keep all my themes light on the jQuery, realizing that people will probably want to drop in there own jQuery plugins to the mix.

- When Shopify updates, it won’t touch your theme, so you safe.

Hope that helps.

Cheers, Simon

Great! Thank you for your assistance.

I set the container to 100% and changed the container column margin-left to 150px. This makes everything look like it is in the middle of the page while keeping the navigation and social media buttons near the sides of the page but the logo moves with the rest of the page content.

Can I change the margin for the logo separately from the rest of the page or is there a better way to change the margins for the top bar and footer?

Thanks.

sdjentertainment

Hey melevitt,

You can change the margin for the logo separately, just find the ”#logo h1 a” styles in the style.css.liquid file. Should be around line 322.

Hope that helps.

Default-user

Hey again,

I would like to make the width of the page 100%. I changed the container to 100% and I would like to make the .container .sixteen.columns 100% as well but I noticed that it added some spacing on the side of the slider. What is the best approach to creating a full width page?

Thank you.

sdjentertainment

Hey melevitt,

I think your almost there and on the right track. The best way would to be change all the widths of grid layout to percentages. That way everything will be equally spaced. I know each .column does have some padding on either side of it.

For other pages you can create a page template and just was that page for all you content pages.

http://docs.shopify.com/manual/configuration/store-customization/page-specific/store-wide/can-i-create-and-use-an-alternate-template-for-pages-products-collections-or-blogs
Default-user

That worked out great changing everything to percentages – i.e. 960px to 96%, 880px – 88%...etc. I changed the margin-left to 27px and it looks pretty good. Thank you for your assistance with this. I appreciate it!

sdjentertainment

Right on, glad you got it working.

Default-user

Hello again,

I am starting to add products and I noticed that on the products page the thumbnails look very blurry. I have uploaded 1500px by 2256px and the thumbnail CSS is -

.thumbnail img { width: 100%; margin: 0 auto;

Any ideas?

Thank you!

sdjentertainment

Hey melevitt,

It’s a bit hard to trouble shoot without seeing the problem. Can you email me your site and password, if there is one and I’ll take a look for you.

Default-user

The website is http://trendsetterclothing.com/collections/all and the website password is the default one; otowre.

sdjentertainment

Thanks for sending this. This happens with images with a large aspect ration on this theme. What you’ll have to do is in your Template Editor find the snippet-porduct-grid.liquid file and go to line 15. You should see…

src="{{ product.featured_image.src | product_img_url: 'medium' }}"

change that to:

src="{{ product.featured_image.src | product_img_url: 'large' }}"

And you should be all set. This bug is slated on the next version of the theme as your not the only one who has encountered this.

Hope that helps.

Default-user

Hey again,

I was reviewing the website in the major browsers and I realized that firefox does not resize the images in a table on my contact page. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Default-user

I changed the front page password so if you need that again, please let me know.

sdjentertainment

Hey melevitt,

Your site is still password protected so I couldn’t get in to take a look.

Sometimes tables can be a bit tricky with responsive images, make sure you have max-width:100% set on those images. So for example (not tested)

table, td {
    max-width: 100%;
}

Hope that helps out.

Default-user

Password is trendy. I tried the code you suggested but nothing changed in Firefox.

Thanks for your help.

sdjentertainment

Hey melevitt,

It looks like the default styles for CSS got switched around. You can either re-download the theme and just copy and paste the table styles back into your CSS file.

If you want that section to be a bit more responsive you could do something along the lines of the following…

<div class="eight columns alpha">
    <!-- image goes here -->
</div>
<div class="eight columns omega">
    <!-- image goes here -->
</div>
<div class="eight columns alpha">
    <!-- image goes here -->
</div>

You’ll have to switch to the HTML version of the WYSIWYG editor when you do this.

The “eight columns” class with be one-half the width of the sixteen column width. “Alpha” will make divs aligned left, and “omega” will make the divs align on the right.

Hope that helps.

Default-user

Great, thank you for the advise. I will try it as soon as I can. One other thing I noticed is I have added a second image for each product but now the related products is not displaying four like specified. It displays two and when I remove the second image it goes back to four. Any suggestions?

Thanks, your assistance has been awesome.

Default-user

I think I found the issue. When there is a second image a thumbnail area with the images show up. That is pushing the related products area down which is where the issue occurs. Not sure how to fix it.

Thanks.

Default-user

I commented out the thumbs within the product.liquid to fix the issue. I am using the second image as a hover anyway so hiding the thumbnails is actually what I wanted. I am wondering if this issue was caused by something I did while editing unknowingly or if it was already there.

Thanks.

sdjentertainment

Hey melevitt,

I double checked the demo theme and everything seems to working as suspected so some wires might have gotten crossed while you were making some other changes. It don’t have to miss much to break things when it comes to code. If down the road your wanting thumbnails, let me know and I’ll take a closer look at your code for you.

Hope that helps.

Default-user

While looking over the your demo site I didn’t notice any thumbnails. The client is fine with the hidden thumbnails for now but thank you for offering help.

Default-user

Hey! I tried fixing the table issue in Firefox and copied the code from the original code with no changes. I tried changing everything over to div tags instead but something is messing up the image map code that I am trying to use. I am also using rollovers.

I made a page without all the image map and rollovers – to show the table issue in firefox so that I can show it is not the extra code I added. http://trendsetterclothing.myshopify.com/pages/test (password is trendy)

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

sdjentertainment

Hey melevitt,

In your style.css file scroll down to around 236. You should see something along the lines of

table th, table td {
    text-align: left; padding: 3px;
}

On the following line, add the following.

table tr td img {
    width: 100% !important;
}

That should do the trick.

Default-user

Thank you. That worked perfectly!

Hi,

Just wondering if this includes PSD files or some other design file types that we can edit to customize?

Thanks

sdjentertainment

Hey theseveredlink,

The PSD is not included as the designed changed from the original design to the final version of the theme.
