Really like your Nautica theme – especially the Drag & Drop Editor idea since I’m not much of tech person. With the Editor, for example, if I just wanted the Slider section, Services section, Processes and Latest Posts on the home page (with the normal footer section that you have) and didn’t want Recent Works, I can add only what I want
- right? So, in effect, you can easily customize your home page -- and other pages too? Thanks!
Hey, thanks for the kind words. Sure you can.
You can set up the homepage any way you want, you can add and remove sections, switch them one for another, you can resize them to take up 1,2,3,4 columns depending on how you want the layout to fit etc. There are also some HTML boxes where you can place pretty much anything you want and 3 widget bars.
The layout editor is only for the homepage right now, as we wanted to make sure it works as flawless as possible there but we will extend it to the other pages pretty soon. You can customize those pages with shortcodes and the sidebar widgets for the moment.
Let me know if there’s anything else
Beautyful design! GLWS

Thanks
Thank you for your prompt reply!
That’s great!
Now, just to double-check, I would love to be able to have a Right Sidebar Widget area on the Home page, for example, where I can put up an easy newsletter sign up widget or registration widget to make it really easy and simple to get visitors to connect with us. Is that also a possibility with the Drag & Drop Editor (you mentioned 1,2,3 or 4 columns so I’m thinking that’s possible). You don’t see that kind of capability of a Home page right sidebar option on many of the themes here on Themeforest.
Yes, just add a widget bar to the 4th column on a row and place your widget there from the Appearance>Widgets page.
Great theme!
Main page is only with fullwidth revolution slider? Sometimes I need boxed slider. Can I change it in this theme?
Yes, you can change it. For each slider you create (you can have more than one at the same time, in different places) you can choose between full width, fixed size and fixed-responsive.
Hey there, I would love to buy but not having the content editor across the site from day one concerns me as I use Visual Composer at the moment and love it – I worry that going not adding content from day 1 using your page builder would cause issues on other pages when you then roll it out to them?
Is there an option to disable your content editor and install the one I use already on my themes?
Is there a custom CSS in the theme options?
There is a slight pattern on the homepage behind the latest posts bit – would it be simple enough to alter this to a solid colour?
finally, can you set background images on the site and if so is this option on a page by page basis?
P.S. Congrats on the theme code – only 2 small validation issues I found – amazes me how many authors have hundreds of errors – you have done a great job!!!
Hello,
1. We’ll test the Visual Composer and return next week with an update to make it 100% compatible.
2. Which one are you referring to ?
3. Yes. You can find it in Nautica Theme > General.
4. Yes. If you are going to use our Layout Editor, you have to click the settings of that row and select a color using our color picker or select another background image which you can tile any way you want.
5. At the moment, you can change the background of all the pages, but not on a page by page basis. Next week we’ll make an update to support this feature.
Thank you for the kind words.
Hi there, thanks for the reply! I bought it and so far am loving it! I must say the flexibility to alter all the row backgrounds is AWESOME! I also see there is a custom CSS ;o)
Here are a few comments of things I am struggling with or would like ;oP
1. I cannot figure out is how to get the Rev slider working on the Homepage? I have set up the slider correctly but where do I place the shortcode? – Ive tried in the page (imported dummy content)
2. I cannot set a Masonry style blog – it appears to have the same layout as the classic from what i can tell.
3. Would be cool to have opacity control of the main page area
4. that’s all right now ha ha – but you really have packed this full of FAB stuff!
I’m happy you love it!
1. For the slider to show up on the homepage you have to go to the “Revolution Slider” tab on the left of the admin and create a new slider using the alias “homepage_revolution_slider”
2. Make sure you select the “Blog Masonry” template from the Page Attributes setting on the edit page screen.
3. I’ll think about it:)
4. Thanks for being a customer:)
Hi there – 1. – Fixed thanks – I had altered the name of the slider to HOME and did not realise this would cause the issue, for some reason I thought you could perhaps select if you wanted it to show rather than it be hard coded in if that makes sense. Thanks for that.
2. I have done this, I wonder if the templates are the same??
3. Cool
Hey,
I’ve tested it again on a fresh WordPress install and it seems to work fine for me. Can you send me a message from my profile page with the website address and the login details so I can take a look?
Thanks
Very cool!
Glad you like it!
Welcome to the Forest !!
Thanks:)
Wonderful theme, thanks! I have a few pre-sale questions:
- When I open the demo on my iPad, the slider doesn’t show and the layout is a bit messed up. Is this a temporary problem?
- Do you know if the theme works with the Gravity Forms plugin?
- Is it possible to remove the map on the ‘Contact’ page and just show the contact form?
- Are the icons included so I can change them so square icons? That would perfectly match my company’s style
Thank you in advance!
Thanks.
1. It worked fine for us when we tested it, but we’ll test it again to try to recreate the problem.
2. Yes, it works.
3. Yes. You can find the option in Nautica Theme > Contact > Show Map.
4. You can change the file “service-bg.png” (located in theme’s images folder) with this one (link to the image). Hope this is what you were looking for
Hi,
Is the .xml file missing the images. We installed the theme and uploaded the demo .xml file and don’t have any images, slider won’t work either.
Thanks!
Hey,
For the slider to show up on the homepage you have to go to the “Revolution Slider” tab on the left of the admin and create a new slider using the alias “homepage_revolution_slider”.
As for the images, after you imported the xml file, you should see some blue images that act as placeholders, that’s because the license doesn’t allow us to redistribute the actual images from the live demo with the theme.
Is there a right sidebar option (widget section) available on Pages rather than Posts? I don’t see an example on the demo site?
Yes, the pages default template has a sidebar
Just to clarify, can the sidebar be on the right or left?
Yes, you can choose on/off, left/right
BeOpen, I upload it on fresh wordpress installation and when I try to activate it I got error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /home/touchseo/public_html/wp-content/themes/nautica/beopen_framework/init.php on line 357
Could you please point out what’s wrong? I also already created the support ticket.
wait to hear from you
Hello,
Could you please tell me what version of Wordpress are you using ?
Best regards
I used 3.2. I’ve upgraded on 3.5 and it works. thanks!
mrob
– the XML does contain images – I uploaded it once and nothing happened do I did it a second time and it worked. make sure you tick import Images check box when you do. ;o) Hope that helps. As for slider – make sure the name of the slider (alias) is homepage_revolution_slider – I struggled with this also at first but all is fab now.
Ipenner
There is a right hand sidebar option – DEFAULT TEMPLATE ;o)Hi, firstly – great looking theme! Just what my client wants.
However, I just tested it on iPhone 5 and the whole Homepage (default only) is shifted to the left, with big white margin on the right. The other pages look fine. And I got an issue with Portfolio thumbnails, it’s quite hard to click on them on the iPhone (shows the rollover effect, but doesn’t open unless I click a lot). I’m planning to buy it once it’s fixed though, couldn’t see any other issues. Looks great.:)
Hey, Glad you like it:)
We tested it on a 4S and looked fine, we’ll have a look at everything you mentioned. Thanks
nice theme, quick question can you change the main color of the menu which is blue in the live preview? or is that a fixed color? thanks
Yes, you can change it from the Visual Customizer to whatever color you like.
You did an excellent job. I have no doubt of the bright future here at Envato, good luck with sales
Thank you
I’d like to have a background image in the header rather than a background color. What css you I change to make this happen?
Just go to “Nautica Theme > Visual Customizer” and from the Homepage Colors and Backgrounds section, upload a background image and set it to Center Top
Tested it on iPad and Kindle. The homepage and all othe pages are shifted to the left, with a large white margin on the right? Is there a responsive setting we are to adjust for this?
No setting, it’s a small bug:) We’ll release an update probably tomorrow to fix it.
Great theme. Anyone else having issues where the revolution slider does not work on iphone or ipad?
It works fine on my laptop but on other devices I just get the question mark on screen instead.
Hey, thanks for buying the theme.
Regarding the slider issue, I currently have an iphone 4s with me and the slider works fine (except for the white space to the right thing, which we’ll fix in 48 hours max)
Try and clear the browser cache first and see if it works
If it still doesn’t work, can you upload a picture with the error so I can take a look? Also what type of iphone/ipad were you using?
There was a problem with your images. Check the support forum:)
