local videos needs to be uploaded in mp4, ogv and webm format because, when not using flash player, each major browser/platform natively support a diffent type.

The automatic cover image feature works for youtube, vimeo and vid.ly while local videos require you to provide one.

To automatically extract a cover image from a self hosted video would require some video related tool to be installed on the server (like ffmpeg for instance) as well as enough privileges granted to the site owner in order to use it.

This setup is rarely available on general hosting plans because it requires a lot of resources, as such, this feature is not available our theme.

Regarding the autocover i am wondering if i can dues that on my site considering that i have a dedicated server so i guess i have many features such the one you mentioned before. We won’t add it for sure because it would be a support nightmare with each buyer having a different server setup.

Can’t really speak for your dev because i don’t know him but i’d say such feature would require quite some work to be correctly integrated into a wordpress theme.

This is no doubt an incredible theme. It has the look and many of the features I am looking for. However I wish to do two things: 1. change the cyan blue colour to one that fits better with my brand 2. Take out the “call us” box. I have no coding knowledge what so ever and wonder if you can give me some assistance in this?

Markup is SEO optimized but there are no advanced customization options in this area because such job is already covered by a lot of great plugins.

Hey

Great theme, fantastic job. About to purchase but have a question.

All my posts have WP standard galleries – arranged into Categories. Will I need to convert these to show in your Portfolio Post examples (so I can use your incredible Lightbox)? I fear I may need to change my standard WP Posts to your Portfolio Custom Post Type to make sure they show up like your examples. Think I can do this in MySQL table properties? With 200+ Posts I can’t copy and paste everything; I’ll be here until Christmas doing that!

Your help would be appreciated. Oh and one final thing: I don’t see any ALT text on your images. Does your theme pick up ALT text from the WP Media Uploader?

the native wordpress gallery is somewhat too limited: once an image is linked to a post, there’s no eay way to unlink it, as such, to use the same image in multiple wp galleries, you’d need to upload it several times.

To overcome such limitations, we built our own gallery management system (which also features media tags) and you’d need to convert all your galleries in order to take advantage of it.

Unfortunately, there won’t be a easy way to do this with sql queries because, for performance reasons, each gallery is stored as a serialized object in a single meta value.

About alt texts in galleries, you’d need to customize theme code if interested in such feature.

I may be able to get over the gallery image issue but if normal ALT tags don’t show up in the images that the Search Engines crawl by default then I can’t do it I’m afraid – aaagghhhh. So want this theme.

I’m an artist so 60% of my traffic comes from image searches. ALT text is the single most important function. I was hoping your awesome theme (the VERY best I have seen) would support native WP ALT text…

yes, you need to choose “Refine” as slider type and then you will be able to select transition type (fade, random, cube and so on)

This theme has not been tested with WPML , but includes a POT file for direct translation, ie. not language switching.

Hello, it´s a great theme!! I really want to buy it. But can you please tell me if the theme is compatible with BuddyPress? I know that there are other themes that are “BudyPress ready” but how difficult will it be to optimize your NEO theme for this plugin?

Hi,

Buddypress would have several new page templates, which would need new CSS to be written before they would suit the style of the NEO theme. Also if you wanted any of the custom functionality of this theme to feature in the Buddypress pages (such as background slideshow, synchronized sliders etc) then further customization (PHP & CSS ) would be needed.

Also this theme has not been tested with Buddypress.

I like the theme but have a few questions:

1. Could one make the background images static or simply remove altogether? 2. Can the main content window be stretched to full page width? 3. In terms of the portfolio, how much control from the Dashboard is there (without rifling through the back-end script) in regards to padding. Most specifically, can I bring the grid padding to 0 to get a touching condition?

Obviously these things can be done, but I suppose more the question is how easily without tearing apart a really nice theme?
