Is it possible to change the body paragraph font via the theme options menus?
Hi. No, the fonts are not selectable.
@Keeval thank you for great theme! I originally had no problems with this theme whatsoever, however once I updated the advanced custom fields to 4+ the slider does not work on any of the pages. They all disappeared.
I downloaded the latest update of the theme of the 1.3 and still there is no difference. I even tried to reinstall ACF, but no success.
http://fortworthwebbuilder.com/ags/What would you suggest I do? I can give you username and pass word, but where would I share this with you?
I’ll try to send you a private email through the forest. I appreciate all your help ahead of time.
Thanks a ton, Chase
Fixed it, sorry!
I just read this two messages. I’m happy to see it works now
Keeval, this started out being a fabulous theme, and has gotten better with all the continued improvements. Keep up the good work. Two suggestions: 1. When the site is shown on a very large screen, say a 17 inch monitor, the theme has a limited size, so it does not scale up to fill the entire wide screen. The empty space on both sides don’t look so good. Perhaps you can eliminate the maximum width, or add a background feature that kicks in after your current max width. 2. A feature which allows us to change the fonts (maybe add a google fonts selector for body, etc. Cheers!
Hi, Ishiva.
Thank you very much for your kind words. I actually work in an iMac 29 inch. The max width is set because long lines are difficult to read, and usability norms say that this is something that has to be limited. Anyway, I think it is a good idea to add a setting in the theme customizer to allow no-max width. I’ll get to work on it.
The font issue is some more difficult, because every text in the theme is adjusted in size, weight, tracking, line height, etc, and simply change the font family will not produce good looking results. But I’ll pick your idea and work on it to find a good solution.
Thank you for your contribution!
Good point about the fonts. Regarding the larger sized windows, I think one attractive option might be to extend the sidebar background to both sides. Whatever you come up with, I am sure it will look good. You have shown good taste in your design selections! Cheers!
Keeval. I Know it is possible in WOrdpress to add a pdf file to a page, but I have not been able to figure out how to do it with Nerea. Are you filtering out some file types? Also, would you be adding any other post formats, like status, links? Thanks!
Hi. You can upload any PDF to the Media Library, and link it from any page or post. Nerea doesn’t filter anything that is in a common WordPress installation. About the post formats, I think it’s a good idea, although nobody else has ask for it. I take note to include it in a future release. Thank you for your contribution!
I am in love with this Theme. I encourage anyone sitting on the fence, thinking about buying it, to jump in. This Theme should be selling more licenses than it is!
I just upgraded to the latest version, and was prompted to install the two ACF plugins. Unfortunately the install failed, citing “The plugin does not have a valid header”, and refused to create the directory in the /Upgrade folder. I changed my directory permissions on the server, to allow anything at all to write to it, but that did not change the failed install. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, and keep up the great work.
Thank you very much (again) for your kind words, Dean!
This is very strange. The only thing I can think is that the theme is downloaded with errors. Could you download again the ZIP and upload it to your server? If this fails you can pass me by mail (if you don’t mind) access to the admin panel of your website and I’ll have a look.
This developer offers awesome support for this Theme. K went into my site only hours after I reported my problem, and came up with some possible solutions for the conflict. But, in the end, the problem was not with Nerea at all but with a conflict between the Advanced Custom Fields plugins and my GD Press Tools Pro 4.4 Plugin. Once I deactivated the wonderful GD Press Tools plugin (this is the first time it has ever conflicted with another plugin, by the way), the ACF plugins for Nerea installed just fine. After the ACF plugins install, just re-activate your GD Press Tools, and all will be well. Muchos gracias, K.
You’re always welcome
Hi Keeval, On the mobile versions of the theme, I am trying to get rid of the little image of the FILE FOLDER and the text that says BLOG in the blog header area. If you are able to tell me which files I need to go into and what element to change, I would really appreciate it. On the desktop version, I was able to eliminate that by simply changing the text size from 2.2 em (I think) to 0.0 em. Not sure how to get rid of it for the mobile versions, though. I found the mobile version files, but just don’t know what to change.
Thanks kindly for any support you can offer. Kami
Hi, Kami: Could you tell me what your site’s URL is? I’m not sure to understand what elements are you talking about, and I would like to take a look.
Hi, Keeval: It is www.kenningjournal.com You can only see that image on a mobile device now. Thanks so much for taking the time to look into it. Best, Kami
Hi. Why is all your blog under the category “blog”? If you hide the category title you are also hidding many other useful titles that uses the same style: Search results, archives by tag, etc. If, at any rate, you want to hide the title in small screens you have to change the same selector (”.archive-title”) in the media stylesheet (“style-media.css”), for each screen size. Let me know if this works
Hi Keeval, great theme, thanks so much! Is is possible that you add an App.net share button in the social area? Thanks! (Here is the link for further information: http://blog.app.net/2013/05/28/app-net-social-buttons-are-here/)
Hi! Thanks for your kind words. In fact, I’m working on a future version that includes new social media buttons. I will consider “App.net”, although I did not know it. Thank you for the info
I’ve made an update for several extensions. Now the slider don’t show. It seem to be a conflict with ACF. My WP version is 3.5.1 (french) my Nerea version is 1.9 and the ACF version is 4.1.4. I read that chasepeysen had the same issue but there is no solution posted.
Thanks
Hi! All you have to do is update Nerea to current version 1.15. Several months ago ACF 4 was released, losing part of its backwards compatibility. Nerea was updated to 1.12 to solve this problem. Let me know if this works!
Thanks, simple solution, already done and it’s working.
Keeval, I have started using the recent posts module and it looks very nicely matched with the rest of the theme. I know that one can pick the category and recent items will be shown. I was wondering if there was a way to add some functionality to make it more like a related post display. One could pick the posts to display manually, or use some other sort rather than the latest in a category. Thank you so much for the nice theme!
