Hi Tomsky, another question. I just noticed that my website is not responsive though I successfully installed your theme in my OpenCart. What do you think is wrong? Am I missing something? Here is the link going to the website Im currently building:http://highbeam.com.sg/opencart1-5-4/ I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.
Hi,
Thanks for your e-mail.
You can have a look at catalog/view/theme/newModern/stylesheet/color.css and see if you can set some colors in there, if not, please have a look at the stylesheet.css file as all the color settings are in those two files.
What do you mean the theme is not responsive?
Kind regasrds
Hi Tomsky, The reason why I said my website is not responsive using your theme is because when I look at the site using my Android phones and iPad, its not adjusting accordingly. It just looks like an ordinary website that you need to zoom in and out to see it clearly. As a responsive site, elements must flow depending on the platform used and its orientation, right? Can you please test it on your own devices and let me know if I’m missing something? The URL is http://highbeam.com.sg/opencart1-5-4 Thank you very much.
Hi,
Thanks for letting me know. Can you also check the demo store and see if you get the same experience? It should automatically change its dimensions according to the screen’s resolution, so the problem you described shouldn’t be there. Please check the demo store and let me know.
Thanks
Hi Tomsky,
I already tested your DEMO site on iPhone and Android phones, but I still getting the same results. The whole website is not fluid, it just shrinks the whole thing and the text became unreadable. I still need to zoom in to a specific part of the site just to view or read it. I believe you really know how a “Responsive” website works right? I hope we, your customers, receive an explanation AND a solution regarding this issue. Thank you very much Tomsky.
Hi Tomsky, any response to my question above? Thanks.
Hi,
I tested your and demo stores on my android device and they look fine, I also tested those websited on iphone emulator: http://iphonetester.com/ and cannot see problems with demo store (there is a problem with slider on yoiur website though). When you test demo store please use http://goinventive.co.uk/themes/new_modern_style/ as it removes the frame which can cause problems.
Kind regards
Hi Tomsky, thank you very much for your response. However, I tested the demo site URL that you gave in iPhone 4G to 5, and Samsung S2 to S3, as well as in some HTC phones, but still not responsive. All it does is just shrinking the web page to fit the width of the screen. When we say responsive, each column must adjust and align according to which device it is being launched, right? Can I have your email so I can send you the screenshots of the demo sites when being viewed in my devices? By the way, can you guide me regarding the “frame which can cause problems” that you mentioned in your last post and how to remove it? Thanks.
Hi,
By responsive web design, we understand a design which responses to the device’s resolution in such a way that it changes the website width automatically. In this theme, we have provided 3 sets of resolutions: standard for laptops/ desktops, on for tablets and one for smart phones. There are hundreds of tablet and smart phones devices on the market with many different resolutions, so it’s not possible to create a design which would look perfectly on every device, but this design should shrink accordingly to provide maximum readability and minimum need for re sizing.
You don’t need to do anything to visit the demo store without the frame, simply navigate to: http://goinventive.co.uk/themes/new_modern_style/Kind regards
Hi Tomsky,
Thank you very much for your patience in answering my queries. But the “responsive” features that you explained to me is already present on every smart device’s browser (The thing that can automatically re-size the width of the page to maximize the screen). With this, the fonts will become too small that the reader needs to zoom in and out to navigate a single page. Apparently, this is not how we define a “Responsive Website”. Looking at the mobile phone from the screenshot that you provided in your theme page, I thought the responsiveness of the site wouldn’t be an issue because I saw that the Featured items are presented in a list and the buttons are following an app-like style.
If you’re going to look at the websites done in WordPress, there are a lot of themes there that can make your website appears like a mobile app in smaller gadgets like iPhone and Android phones. Please tell me, is this not possible in your theme? Does OpenCart doesn’t support this kind of responsiveness?
Hi Tomsky,
I also searched for other OpenCart responsive themes and I found a nice one that does exactly what we’re looking for: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=9626.
See how the layout changed when being viewed in a mobile phone. Is this also possible in your theme? Thank you.
Hi,
This is pretty much how this theme is supposed to behave when displayed on smaller devices. Please check the demo store on your pc and then resize your browser window. You should be able to notice how the layout of the store changes and adjusts to the width of the browser. There are 3, pre-defined widths for this theme.
Kind regards
Hi Tomsky,
I said its my opencart using your theme is not responsive because when I look at the site using my Android phones and iPad, its not adjusting accordingly. It just looks like an ordinary website that you need to zoom in and out to see it clearly. Can you please test it on your own and let me know if I’m missing something? Hi
Thanks for your e-mail. Any opencart theme will support Indian currency and there should be payment gateways which work with Indian banks, please look at this site http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension to see if these are available. To see how easy it is to maintain opencart store, please see opencart demo at http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=demonstration/demonstration

Hallo Tomsky, How can I change the top border line on the footer and the arrows colors which are now light blue. And how can I fix the patterns in theme options which doesn’t work right now. Thx.
Hi,
If you want to change the footer border, please add the div#footer-border selector to your theme’s color.css file, eg:
div#footer-border { background-color: red !important; }
If your background pattern selection is not working, can you contact us via http://themeforest.net/user/tomsky and elt us know your admin panel and ftp server details then we’ll have a look at that issue for you.
Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for your help, I could fix the footer border and uploaded my own ( background ) pattern what is works.
Will I get the LOGO in PSD and font for the logo if I purchase this theme?
Hi,
You will get the logo, but not the font I’m afraid.
Kind regards
Hi, nice template. Does it make any changes to OC files? If so which ones.
Thanks, Jazz
Hi Jazz,
Thanks. Yes, the only file which needs to be changed is catalog/controller/product/category.php (it’s changed in order to display subcategories’ images).
Kind regards
Hi, I need to show images for product variants. Please, can you let me know code modification for file catalog/product.tpl ? Thank you.
Hi,
Which version of opencart are you using? I believe this is a native opencart feature since opencart 1.5.4, so no changes are required if you’re using version later than that.
Kind regards
