Thanks for quick reply! :)

I still have two question.

1. How can I insert an big advertisement banner by blog title. http://img187.imagevenue.com/img.php?loc=loc34&image=882593493__122_34lo. 2. How can I insert an author biography below article. http://img157.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=882595250_author_122_230lo.JPG
SaurabhSharma

Hello webmarketer,

1. Leaderboard banner is inserted using a Text widget in Header Widget Area. For that, navigate to Appearance > Widgets, and place a text widget inside Default Header Bar. Inside this text widget, you can place the advertisement code or image like:

<a href="#" title="advertisement"><img alt="leaderboard" src="http://yoursite.com/wp-content/themes/newsplus/images/ad_728.jpg" /></a>

2. Author profile can be enabled by navigating to Appearance > Theme Options > Blog > Single Post Settings > Show Author Bio. Enable this option and Save settings. Also make sure your Author Bio is filled inside Users > Your Profile > About Yourself > Biographical Info. The profile will show only if the bio is filled in.

Suddenly ‘Connect with us’ and ‘featured’, ‘Headlines’ doesn’t aligned in same line. It looks like ‘Connect with us’ is on upper line than others.

How can I solve this problem? :(

SaurabhSharma

Hello webmarketer,

There is an empty p or br tag just above your main content. To fix it, open/edit your page in “Text” mode of editor and remove any extra p or br tag just above those headlines. That will fix the issue. :)

hi SaurabhSharma,

the mobile view, I think it does not integrated.

eg:

Thank you

SaurabhSharma

Hello halajur,

Thanks for purchasing the theme. I think there is some glitch with CSS media query for high pixel ratio devices. Currently, responsive.css contains media queries based on device width, but not on -webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio. I can see your site bitnet.com fine on Android phones and other mobile devices. I will have to include a couple of media queries for device-pixel-ratio too. Meanwhile, you can try by disabling responsive.css inside Appearance > Theme Options > General > Disable responsive.css file.

Kindly also drop me an email at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com, along with your site URL.

Regards

SaurabhSharma

Hello halajur,

Kindly also check with mobile’s zoom in/out feature with 100% width. As I think media queries are yielding 100% site width, and shall not give that narrow output unless there is some change in mobile’s zoom settings.

Hi Saurabh Sharma, my friend purchased your theme and now I am working with it, the theme is great, can you help me. My question next: how can I add comments at pages? Comments checkbox turned on, but page has still without form of comments. Posts alright.

SaurabhSharma

Hello ministra,

Inside page.php, add this code just before endwhile statement at line no. 19:

<?php comments_template( '', true ); ?>

P.S. For future support requests, kindly post comments from the purchase account, or send me a verification code at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com.

Hi,

I need to center an image in the Table in the first row as I have centered the text and button in the table as well but the image is not working. I work with wp-table reload and need to center the image. I use your css for the table. So could you help me to make the image centered (vertical and horizontal)

Thnx

SaurabhSharma

Hello David,

Inside style.css file, text alignment for table th and td are set to left. This can be changed by adding this rule inside user.css file, or at the end of style.css file:

th, td { text-align: center; }
th img, td img { display: inline; margin: 0 auto; }

After adding these rules, clear browser cache and check the site. If it doesn’t work, kindly send me the link of your page/site. I will further check it. :)

I try to fix my error with your advice but it doesn’t work yet!

I opened a page ‘home’ in a HTML mode, and removed all p, br tags.

Check the picture below. http://img284.imagevenue.com/img.php?loc=loc466&image=957886173__122_466lo.

Hello webmarketer,

Kindly send me your WP login and URL at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com. It is required to keep one carriage return between short codes in editor. I will place it for you once so that you do not get this issue again. :)

Nice Design! Just bought it, but want to increase font size in the content to 1.5em and for excerpt 1.05em but having problem and not getting the result as I want, I added the following style in user.css, can you please guide me what class to add to fulfill my requirement?

.entry-content ul,
.entry-content p {
    font-size: 1.15em;
}

.post-excerpt p,
#content p {
    font-size: 1.05em;
}
SaurabhSharma

Hello Atif,

Thanks for the purchase and kind feedback. If the content font size is increased, it will increase on both pages and posts. And I guess you would want single posts to be of bigger font size, whereas post snippets on Home page still smaller. For that you can add these rules:

/* Target only single posts */
.single .entry-content p,
.single .entry-content ul {
    font-size: 1.15em;
}

/* Slider and post grids excerpt */
p.post-excerpt,
p.slide-excerpt {
    font-size: 1.05em;
}

If you wish to change it for pages too, remove .single from above mentioned selectors. And if you wish to keep it for both pages and posts, but still want smaller size on Home page, you can target them using .home class name as:

.home .entry-content p,
.home .entry-content ul {
    font-size: 1em;
}

I hope this will help.

Hi Saurabh,

Thanks for replying, I want to increase the font size for both posts and pages, above code worked fine for single posts and post excerpt but for pages .home doesn’t seem to work, it just increases home excerpt font size. How to increase pages font size?

SaurabhSharma

Hello Atif,

Use the following code:

/* Both pages and posts */
.entry-content p,
.entry-content ul {
    font-size: 1.15em;
}

/* Slider and post grids excerpt */
p.post-excerpt,
p.slide-excerpt {
    font-size: 1.05em;
}

I mentioned .home class in case you wish to keep Home page post lists in small font size, whereas other pages and posts in bigger font size. Just let me know if that is the case.

Hi, I just updated to the latest version which mentions prettyphoto support. I’d like to have it so that my featured images on the blog pages and my images that have been inserted into blog posts appear in js popups when clicked instead of opening the image url.

Do I need to install a prettyphoto plugin or make some further mods?

SaurabhSharma

Hello trocity,

After updating to latest version, prettyPhoto JS and CSS are included to your theme. But in order to use them, it will be required to add prettyPhoto rel tag on image links. You can find these details inside documentation file’s section 21. FAQ > 10. How to use prettyPhoto lightbox. (This is inside latest documentation).

After going through that description, if you find any difficulty, feel free to send me a mail at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com.

Hi again,

First, apologize for my English :)

How can i immobilize slider area ? i dont want move up and down in slider area. Each article in this section is moving :(

SaurabhSharma

Hello bloghaber,

Slider height is set to auto. This can be changed inside newsplus/includes/shortcodes/shortcodes.php file, line no. 334:

smoothHeight: true,

Change this to smoothHeight: false, for fixed height. If you find any difficulty, kindly send me a mail at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com. In future updates, I will add this option in short code parameters similar to animationloop.

Hello, I am thinking about making a purchase but I am wondering how compatible the theme is within mobile format?

SaurabhSharma

Hello danjmham,

Thanks for browsing the theme. It is compatible with mobile formats and comes with responsive fallback for different mobile widths. You can check live demo on mobile device for responsiveness.

Page titles are missing. How can i add them?

SaurabhSharma

Hello bterrier,

Thanks for purchasing the theme.

Page titles are automated for categories and archives. For Pages, you can use this heading tag inside page editor:

<h1 class="section-title">Your page title</h1>

This will show heading in light grey color (as on live demo). Alternatively, you can also use simple h1, h2, h3 tags as required. For reference, I haven’t hard coded these on pages because users may prefer to hide title on some pages, or may want to have a different heading tag. So you can use above mentioned code inside pages.

Great theme. Easily customizable. Good documentation (except a couple of mis-spellings) but way better than any theme I’ve seen in past. Just one question, since we mostly deal in audio, what is your suggestion for creating a format-sound similar to format-video.php you have?

SaurabhSharma

Hello VikkiOwens,

Thanks for the purchase and kind feedback. My apologies about documentation. I must admit, my grammar is weak. So I always include more pictures and screen shots in documentation.

About Audio format, if you know some code (or taking help from a developer), a new php file format-audio.php can be created which will use JPlayer for playing Audio posts. This JPlayer files need to be included in theme inside functions.php. Additionally, you will need a custom field for Audio URL inside Post Options panel (similar to video URL), where users can provide URL of hosted audio. Optionally, a dropdown for Audio format needs to be added too. This would be for .oga, .ogg, .mp3, or .wav file formats.

I have used similar concept in my Twin theme for Audio post formats, but didn’t included in NewsPlus.

You can also go with WordPress plugins like:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/audio/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/html5-mp3-player-with-playlist/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/haiku-minimalist-audio-player/

I hope one of these may solve your purpose. :)

On a side note, can you please send me a mail at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com about spelling mistakes in documentation. I will fix them.

Great Theme! However, I’m having issues when viewing the website on iOS devices (iPhone 5, iPhone 4). The website doesn’t cover the full width of the page. I have to manually zoom in in order to have it working.

This, however, doesn’t happen on Android, nor on the iPad.

SaurabhSharma

Hello arturogoga,

Thanks for the purchase and kind feedback.

The theme uses meta tag for viewport and device-width on mobile devices. This is set inside header.php file, at around line no. 22:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" />

With this default configuration, initial scale of mobile is inherited according to the zoom settings. This can be changed to:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

Or, you can also control maximum scale as:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1">

By assigning initial and maximum scale, it will inherit 100% zoom. You can find more details on this tag here.

Thanks for the quick reply, Saurabh! I actually managed to fix the problem by removing the 728×90 header widget (I had a banner there) in responsive.css for the @media 480px part.

That was what was causing the website to render improperly on iOS.

SaurabhSharma

Hello arturogoga,

Thanks for sharing the solution. That could be possible if the banner is pushing available view port beyond theme’s container. While images are set to auto width, I think Google ad div (or iFrame) might be using inline fixed width. They can be set to lesser width inside responsive.css, or can be removed completely. If you wish to reduce it’s width, kindly send me your site URL. I will check and suggest appropriate CSS.

I’m looking for editing the posts meta of the home page. Which file i need to edit?

Thanks for your great support!

SaurabhSharma

Hello bterrier,

Posts meta for short codes (slider, posts, etc.) are coded inside newsplus/includes/shortcodes/shortcodes.php file. For example, post meta of [insert_posts] short code is coded inside insert_posts() function:

 $post_meta = ( $hide_meta == 'true' ) ? '' : sprintf( '<span class="entry-meta">...</span>',

Same is coded for slider inside the posts_slider() function. For blog templates and single posts, this post meta information is coded inside functions.php, inside a function named newsplus_post_meta() and newsplus_small_meta(). You can edit them as required. :)

Hi, I have just bought your theme and I canĀ“t find where to set the base font size in %?

SaurabhSharma

Hello Conta,

Thanks for purchasing the theme. I just replied to your email. HTML base font size can be set inside style.css file’s section 2. Typography:

html { font-size: 75%; }

You can also set it inside user.css file if you do not wish to change style.css.
