I am interested in the Next theme. But, my preference is usually a darker skin (black or dark grey backgrounds). I noticed that you mentioned being able to change the “main color” in Theme Options. Is there anyway I can preview the theme with different color options before purchasing? Or. do you have any screen shots or know of a site using Next that is using this kind of color scheme?

Thanks for much for your interest! The current color options available are changing the “main color” (this refers to the color of links, the image rollover icons and frames, plus the form glow color”) and the menu color hover color. The content areas are always set to white and the text color to black (there isn’t a setting to make it light-on-dark).

I was wondering if there’s a way to have the homepage formatted with a smaller slider and a sidebar (similar to your Services page in the demo)? Or would that require customizations? Thanks!

Thanks for your interest! You can set any page as the homepage – so for instance, you could take the services page, set it as your home, and start editing from there.

Hi I Love everything about this theme apart from i find the navigation a little limiting. I will need to add a few more titles accross the top and loose the descriptions. Will it be easy to change?

Thanks for your interest! You absolutely can choose to not have the descriptions there (it’ll just default to being a normal single line menu). The menu is integrated with the standard WordPress menu system, so you can add/remove the menu items you want.

I’m having an issue with the drop down menu. I believe it is related to my lack of submenu headings. How do I add the text underneath the main menu label. i.e. Underneath your ‘Welcome’ menu heading you have the text ‘hello friends’. How would I add ‘hello friends’? I didn’t see any reference to this is the doc. Thanks.

Love the theme but seem to have found an issue with WP 3 .4 support. All the blog posts that have categories assigned are generating a warning

Hi adaptivethemes, for some unknown reason when I make a new page I have lost the little icon on the right hand side that allows me to add any shot codes (google maps, images, columns etc)... How do I get it back? Thank you.

Im having issues importing the demo content can you help please?

Thanks for your purchase! The demo import button is located in the WordPress Admin under “Appearance > Theme Options > Demo Import”. After you click it, it should take a few seconds, then show a message saying that it’s imported the demo data. If this isn’t working as expected, could you please post any problems or errors you’re seeing on our Adaptive Themes Support Forums? It’d help us track down what the issue is.

Thanks for your purchase! One common gotcha is that the actual theme folder is contained one level down inside the zip that you download. The folder structure of your downloaded zip file looks something like this:
next-1.0.5
|— doc
|— licensing
|— next
|— resources
That “next” folder one level down is the actual theme. If you install it, everything should work as expected.

Overall, this theme is well designed. Unfortunately, it doesn’t render properly on IE8 . I’ve posted requests for support both on this site and on the support forums, and those requests have been ignored. So, while the design is nice, I can’t say the same about the support!

I created a post on your support site and a pm over a week ago and havent gotten any sort of response. I also sent a message through your profile on this marketplace as well with no response to anything. I guess I will copy myquestion here and see if you will respond to it in any fashion. Thanks for your purchase! All the content on the frontpage is created with shortcodes and can be edited via the standard WordPress page editor (TinyMCE) via the WordPress Admin.
The
[recent_posts]shortcode can thus be deleted and replaced with any other content. It sounds like what you want is a team section, so you could simply copy the content from the About Us page example and paste it where the[recent_posts]shortcode is.I hope that answers your question.
