Will that create the same scrolling effect of the “Our Portfolio” option on your homepage, except for the automatic link? I basially want the photos and names of the team. They will also be listed on the About Us section.
thanks
Hi @cory0518,
I’ve responded to the duplicate comment below. Thanks.

Hi @cory0518,
I’m afraid it won’t have the scrolling effect. The scrolling effect is created by a javascript control specially coded for the portfolio and recent posts shortcodes (although creating a more generic one is a great idea and something we’ll look into). I’m sorry for inconvenience this causes.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Do you know if there is a way to simply turn off the preview link on the “Recent Project” shortcode? If that an be turned off, I can just turn the “Recent Projects” shortcode into the “Our Team” so that I can have a non-linking photo, name, and title.
thanks
Hi @cory0518,
I’m afraid there isn’t a way to do that without modifying a fair bit of code.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
My Vimeo videos don’t seem to work in the lightbox on my portfolio page. Any ideas?
Hi @Roelios,
If you could start a support forum thread with the URL to your site (or you can message us the link) it’d help to track down what the issue is. Thanks – I look forward to your response.

How do change the number of Columns in the Footer?
I would like there to be only 3, what file do I modify to change this?
Thanks. Love the theme!
Hi @phillipfx,
Thanks for your purchase! Changing the footer layout isn’t available as a theme option setting, but if you’re comfortable editing code, the file that contains the footer is in
prime/classes/class.frontend.phpstarting on line 41. You can delete one of the one_fourth columns and change the rest toone_third,one_thirdandone_third_last.Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Is it possible to use the ‘portfolio’ section as the home page and eliminate the welcome page all together?
Hi @Ashtead,
Thanks for your interest! It’s absolutely possible to do that – you can assign any page you like to be your homepage.
Please let me know if there’s any more information I can provide.

I am kinda new at this, and running into an error on install, any advice?:
“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”
This has been fixed. Thanks in advance. Great theme!
Hi @7000ft,
Thanks so much for your purchase! One common gotcha is that the actual theme folder is contained one level down inside the zip that you downloaded. The folder structure of your downloaded zip file looks something like this:
next-1.0.4
|— doc
|— licensing
|— next
|— resources
That “next” folder one level down is the actual theme. If you install it, everything should work as expected.

How hard/easy is it to add phone number to the header?
Hi @speedmktg,
Thanks for your interest! Nexus comes with a theme option that sets the phone number in the “Call button” in the header. You just type in the number and it’ll display in the header. Plus, if the website is displayed on a smartphone, tapping the button will launch a phone call to the button you specify.
I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.

Is there a darker version available?
Hi @samzhao,
Thanks for your interest! There isn’t currently a darker version of Nexus available.

I don’t see a shortcode for it, so I thought I’d ask if you can create smaller boxes like the ones you see at the bottom of the main Apple.com page. I’d like them to be able to hold either images or text and icons.
How would I do that with this theme?
Thanks!
Hi @jim__hubbard,
Thanks so much for your purchase! We’ve responded on the similar support forum post you created.

Seriously? You could have saved yourself (and me) some time if you had just typed “No, we don’t support that.”
Hi, I”m guessing the answer is yes to both, but I thought I”d ask before purchasing the theme.
1) we can set the background on the pages? Not wanting the hardwood floor background.
2) the main slider image on the home page….it can be any size, correct? Say, 1/3 of the height?
Also, is there a way to add social media icons on the site? Perhaps in the header and below each page/post? I’m talking about the standard ones, i.e. Google +1, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, etc…
Thanks
Hi @audio90,
Thanks for your interest! To answer your questions:
1. Yes – you can set a site-wide background and also change the background on each page if you want
2. Yes – the slider takes the size of the images that are put in it, so if you add images that are one-third as tall, the slider will show up with one-third the height.
We’ve added the “social links” in the header that can be configured via theme options, but there isn’t currently a way of inserting social icons in the header. Thanks for taking a look at Next. Please let me know if there’s any other information I can provide.

Will this theme work on WPMU ? Image src’s, relative paths, etc. Also, does it use the WP Roots theme .htaccess URL rewrites for media, wp-content, etc?
Hi @anton78,
We support the multisite network functionality of WordPress (that replaced WPMU as of WordPress 3.0). We’ve removed the .htaccess URL rewrites for media (in prior themes we’ve released, users had difficulty with the functionality depending on which hosting service they were using).
I hope that answers your questions. Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.

We are considering using this theme for an upcoming project. Any issues with using this theme or the Nexus theme as the parent of a child a theme. We would like to separate our customizations from the actual theme for easy maintenance in the future.
Hi @djeverson,
Thanks for your interest! Next does support child themes. Please let me know if there’s any more information I can provide.

is you theme comes with the data import option so that i can made the site look like your demo and then edit my data. as in home page you use icon i am not sure you use icon image in post or widget or via short code.
Hi @smartdatasoft,
Thanks for your interest! Next does come with demo.xml for import so you can get your local install looking like the preview site. In the homepage, the icons are created with shortcodes. You can see all the available icons here.
Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.

nevermind! figured it out!
Hi,
Im thinking of buying this theme to use for a site. Is there an option or how easy is it to make the slider at the top rotate automatically?
cheers
Hi @stephenhudson,
Thanks for your interest. Nexus has an option for each slider that lets you pick whether you want it to auto-advance. I hope that answers your question – please let me know if there’s any other info I can provide.
