Ugh
- CSS issue. I’ve tried and tried to no avail. Any ideas on how I can get the top banner on the blog pages to span the whole div -which is 686 px I believe? I want it to automatically do this on every page (http://onelessescalade.com/all-about-bike-lights) and on the main blog page (http://onelessescalade.com/blog). By “top banner” I mean the featured pic—hipsters.jpg in the case of that single entry. I need it to automatically resize like it does with the current version, but I just want it to span that whole div horizontally.Hi @owlicks,

I want to buy this theme, but I notice you have a sub-header after the menu bar, that shows in (text) the page your on, ( contact, image portfolio etc etc, ) that is pretty out of fashion using big labels to identify your page, even if you could put whatever text you wanted …..its still eating up prime real estate on-top fold can this be dismissed and not used ( right out the box) I dont want to be force to relabel any of my pages, with this sub-header ( .....can it be gone? ) I got my menu bar to inform people when it comes to what pages they are on…....ready to buy …..besides that it seems pretty nifty and runs smooths, much kudos to you!!!!
Hi @emptybellymag,
Thanks for your interest and the great feedback! We’ve had the same request from a number of our users, so we’ve posted an easy-to-use workaround on our support forum that lets you either hide the subheader completely or reduce its size.
Please let me know if there’s any other info I can provide.

Which browsers are you going to ad support for in the future? And what fixes are coming in the next version? Regards, Jakob

Sorry to bother you, but I’m having an unusual issue (at least for me). I’m installing the Nexus theme on a fresh install of Wordpress 3.4.1. I’m getting this error:
Installing Plugin from uploaded file: nexus.zip Unpacking the package… Installing the plugin… The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found. Plugin install failed.
Any help you can offer? Thanks.
James

like this theme
is it possible to add a facebook like to the recent projects images on the lightbox ? either by adding a shortcode or editing the code directly ?
Hi @andytc,
Thanks for your interest! Nexus doesn’t currently support social icons in the lightbox gallery, but it’s definitely something that could be added with a fairly quick code change. We’ll look at adding it in a future update.
Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.

This is a great theme by the way, however I cannot seem to change the logo. I have resized my logo to original dimensions, uploaded the theme again, imported demo content again – absolutely everything but to no avail.
I have used this theme more than once and first time around the logo change worked fine using the tools provided within the CMS . However this time around it does not.
Does anybody know how I can fix this. I try to put a post on your support forums but there was no response from your server.
Cheers
Hi @VolarisSolutions123,
Thanks so much for your purchase and the kind words! Our support forums were down for about 50 minutes due to an issue with our hosting provider—I apologize for any inconvenience this caused. Things are back up and running normally now. If you create a support forum post, we should be able to get the issue resolved.

Hi – I really like this theme and interested in buying it however for my requirements, the sliders height is too long. Is it possible to reduce the slider /slider area height ?
Thanks
Hi @rizwanhk,
Thanks so much for your interest! The slide heights are easily configurable via a theme option—you just enter how tall you want the slide to be (ex. “400px”). Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.

Hi.
Sorry Im confused. I downloaded the version from August (
but note there has been an update 3 September. How do I know where to download the update as the link to the download seems to show only the version back to July?
Thanks Adam
Hi @waywithwords,
Thanks so much for your purchase! The latest version of Nexus is 1.0.4, which was released on July 29, 2012. The “updated” parameter that displays under the sales/comment count is a ThemeForest controlled date (I believe it refers to the last time they updated the information about the theme). I hope that answers your question.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Hi – I am thinking of buying this theme and have a few questions.
1) Is it possible to make the top background white? 2) How easy would it be to change the social links at the top to be just bigger icons yet still respond? As I noticed they transform into buttons on tablet/phone. 3) What about scaled images? Does it support that function? 4) How rigid is the homepage layout? Can I change structure below the slider easily? 5) Is it possible to rename the theme and ensure that mine is still compatible with your future updates?
Looks like a great theme and suitable for my needs. Just want to find out these few things before making the decision.
Many Thanks,
Phil
Hi @philipjamesbarnes,
Thanks so much for your interest! To answer your questions:
1. The header background can be changed via a colorpicker theme option (you can also choose to set an image background if you prefer).
2. You could change the social links into big icons, but you’d have to do a little coding (delete a few things and change some CSS ). The desktop/tablet social links are populated separately from the mobile ones, so the responsiveness would still work fine.
3. Nexus supports scaled images (in the blog/page previews, featured images and via an image shortcode).
4. The homepage content below the slider is made entirely with shortcodes, so you can change part or all of it via the standard WordPress content editor (the same way you’d edit any page).
5. You can rename the theme and it’ll work fine. When you update to newer versions, you’d have to rename it again though.
I hope that answers your questions. Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.

Very good theme. But I have one question: How to increase theme width?
Hi @dudiki,
Thanks so much for your interest! The widest layout that Nexus supports is the desktop layout (980px width). Making it any wider would require some custom development.
Please let me know if there’s any other information I can provide.

Hi, I really like you theme but my logo has sky blue and dark blue words ( 2 of them.
Do you have a white skin, as I don;t think it wil work with the ones you have in the options
Also, can yo make the sections below the slider Clickable?
Thanks
Hi @dinkster,
Thanks for your interest! To answer your questions:
1. Nexus doesn’t come with a built-in white skin, but it does have an extensive array of color options that you could use to create a skin that matches your logo.
2. Which sections on the homepage did you want to make clickable?
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
“1. Nexus doesn’t come with a built-in white skin, but it does have an extensive array of color options that you could use to create a skin that matches your logo.”
Are the only color options the ones in the live demo? I’ve checked through all these and they don’t work with my logo.
“2. Which sections on the homepage did you want to make clickable?” On the live demo there a re 4 sections directly below the slider, it is these I’m referring too.
Thanks
Hi @dinkster,
1. In addition to the packaged skins, Nexus comes with a bunch of color and background options that you can use to override the colors in whichever skin you choose. This allows for greater customization. You can see the color options here and the background options here.
2. All the content below the slide is made completely out of shortcodes, so you’d be able to customize it and add any content you want.
I hope that answers your questions. Let me know if there’s any additional info I can provide.

Excellent, you’ve got yourself another customer
Hi, I’m using Nexus theme and I’ve just checked the validation on the site and it’s come up with some errors which I’ve no idea how they came about…
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mikeypowell.co.uk%2Fstl%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0Why has this happened?
Thanks, Mikey

Hey there. I just installed your (great) theme on http://ispegdsl.addix.net/site—however something seems wrong: I don’t get those fancy downward-pointing arrows in my Menu. Also, als menus are displayed with a white font color on a white background. On hover the background color for the menu itemes changes, the font color does only sometimes. This happens with an installation with no changes at all.
I also tried enabling custom colors – those changes, however, never have any effect, no matter which color I choose to change.
Please help me.
Regards, Sebastian
Nevermind. I found out what was going wrong and it was entirely my fault.

hi – one more question.
how difficult would it be to add a widget area to the header? I see you can input ‘alternative’ content in one of the option boxes. Which would then replace social/call buttons.
I’m basically looking to create a contact bubble widget there, which would still keep the call button, but also add a ‘call back request’ type button.
Thanks.
Phil
Hi @philipjamesbarnes,
Thanks for your continued interest! Adding a widget area is doable but would definitely require some custom development—the issue is that it has to be carefully designed so it behaves responsively the way the header does now. An alternate approach would be to just add your “call back request” button and another “call” button via the alternative content theme options. That way you could define different layouts for desktop/tablet vs mobile.
I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if there’s any other information I can provide.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Sorry – one more question in relation to above.
Would it be a hard customisation to simply have another ‘call button’ in place of the social icons?
Hi @philipjamesbarnes,
It’d be a code customization but it’d be a pretty quick one—just deleting the social icons and copying and pasting the call button so it appears twice.
Thanks, Adaptive Themes
In the Theme Options you can configure Subfooter Text which I want to use as Copyright Notice. The problem is that Nexus theme disable dynamic ways to get the current year like this:
Copyright © <?php echo date(Y); ?>
In addition, I’ve installed a specific plugin to get the current year via shortcode (jonradio Current Year and Copyright Shortcodes) and neither it is working. Any workaround? Thanks in advance.
