Why does the background disappear on mobile devices?
Hi @samzhao,
Thanks for reporting this bug! It was due to a gradient incompatibility issue with older versions of the Android browser. It’s now been fixed—if you navigate to the preview site, you’ll see that the header gradient now shows up correctly on Android 2.3 (we’ve also posted a workaround on our support forum here).
Thanks again for taking a look at Nexus. Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Hi adaptivethemes crew,
I have updated my PHP memory to 64 (also tried 80m) and I still can’t get your demo working -any ideas?
Thanks and regards, HaveaPresence
Hi @haveapresence,
Thanks so much for your purchase! The latest version of Nexus (version 1.0.3) is now available for download via your ThemeForest account and has a new and streamlined demo data installer. Update and give it a try and everything should work well.
We provide support for all our themes through our Adaptive Themes Support Forums. If you encounter any other issues, that’d be a great place to post, get answers, and see the questions that other users have asked.
Thanks again for choosing Nexus!

I just purchased & downloaded your theme, and when i tried to upload to my wordpress dashboard, i get the message that installation has failed, because stylesheet style.css is missing. please help!
Hi @swa999,
One common gotcha is that the actual theme folder is contained one level down inside the zip that you downloaded. The folder structure of your downloaded zip file looks something like this:
nexus-1.0.3
|— doc
|— licensing
|— nexus
|— resources
That “nexus” folder one level down is the actual theme. If you install it, everything should work as expected.
We provide support for all our themes through our Adaptive Themes Support Forums. If you encounter any other issues, that’d be a great place to post, get answers, and see the questions that other users have asked.

I posted this in the support forum but have had no response. I need to add a flavicon to my website using this theme. All other themes I have used has a place to upload it. Your theme does not. Can you tell me how to add my flavicon?
Hi @frangistar,
Thanks for your purchase! We typically respond to support questions within 24 hours or so (yours was posted in the middle of last night). I’ve responded to the thread you’ve opened on the support forum. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.
Thanks again for choosing Nexus!

I think this theme looks great. Before I purchase it I have a few questions.
1. Performance A few GTMetrix.com tests make me wonder if my website powered by Nexus will ever perform like I want.. lightening fast! http://gtmetrix.com/reports/wpadaptive.com/Qz6IOnz0
Some serious high priority issues showed up…
2. Hooks Are there hooks available in Nexus for developing advanced child themes?
Hi @ricksportel,
Thanks for both your interest and kind words! To answer your questions:
1. Performance
During development, we benchmark using Google’s PageSpeed Insights (you can see the results for Nexus here). We currently score an 86 out of 100. It’s important to keep in mind that some of the measurements these performance tools use don’t apply to a WordPress theme like Nexus (for instance, some CSS may be classified as unnecessary by the performance tool, even though it’s actually needed to support all the shortcodes and widgets packaged with the theme).
We’ve taken care to ensure good performance – for example, all Javascript execution is non-blocking so pages load smoothly, and we’ve even gone so far as to implement special AJAX image shortcodes that intelligently load just the images needed for the current layout (desktop vs. mobile, etc.).
Of course, there’s always room for improvement and our goal is to keep improving the performance with each subsequent update.
2. Hooks
Nexus is child-theme ready and comes with a large number of hooks to allow for a high-degree of customization. We have a number of users who have implemented and are implementing child themes with Nexus.
Thanks again for taking a look at Nexus. Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Hi there, like your theme and interested in buying it for a client. But I would like to know all the information regarding what you have done to make it strong on the SEO side, other than it is SEO plugin ready.
Thanks in advance.
Leon
Hi @leon_di,
Thanks so much for your interest! We’ve taken care of all the basic stuff – making sure heading elements are used correctly (titles in h1 elements, etc.), inserting appropriate correct meta tags, making sure content appears as high up as possible in the page, etc.
We highly recommend that our users use a dedicated plugin (such as WordPress SEO by Yoast) because SEO is so important that you really want to be able to use a dedicated tool. Nexus does all the fundamental stuff then gets out of the way so dedicated plugins can really shine.
I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if there’s any other information I can provide.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Hi there, I am still having issues with your latest update -still cannot activate the demo import, still getting memory issues (have contacted my hosting provider to confirm that I have setup the memory settings correctly and it’s definitely applied for my entire domain) What else do you suggest I try? Thank you HaveaPresence
Hi @haveapresence,
Thanks so much for your purchase! I’ve responded to the support forum thread you posted with a similar issue. I look forward to your response.
Thanks again for choosing Nexus!

Hi @haveapresence,
Thanks for the additional info. If you could post all additional related information to the support forum thread, that’d be great. It helps keep everything in one place and helps us provide a better support experience.

Thanks very much -chat to you on your support forum. Cheers
Sure thing!
A few more simple questions.
Performance
How does Nexus perform with W3 Total Cache and/or a CDN ? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/w3-total-cache/Types of websites
Do you have examples of websites running on the Nexus themes?I would like to create a blog and a corporate website on different domains with the same theme. The blog will be first and is more important. Do you have any ideas or best practices to customize Nexus to make it more “blog style”?
Convince me!
Hi @ricksportel,
Thanks for your continued interest! To answer your questions:
1. Performance: Nexus is compatible with W3 Total Cache.
2. Types of websites: We’re looking to put together a showcase of sites created with Nexus (the theme is relatively new so users are only now starting to send us links to the awesome customizations they’ve made to the theme). Regarding the blog style theme—we’ve added some theme options that ensure it’s easy to make the blog the front page.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Background question Why does the background color of the header dissapear on (some) mobile devices?
I tested the demo URL http://wpadaptive.com/nexus/ on a Samsung Galaxy S one. It only shows the grey background.

After the fix it works fine!
Great theme! Seems to be packed full of functionality, you’ve absolutely nailed the ‘corporate’ sector.
One quick question before purchase… I noticed that it doesn’t come with any PSD ’s. Would it be possible to get these as customisation of the design is paramount to this particular client?
Thanks in advance and all the best with sales!
Joe.
Hi @joe_trippett,
Thanks so much for your interest and kind words! There actually aren’t any PSDs of Nexus to provide—we developed the design directly in HTML /CSS with the idea of using as many native CSS3 styles as possible (and minimizing the number of images).
Thanks again for taking a look at Nexus. Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.

Great theme! Lovely work. The slider customization is insane.
I’m having troubles trying to reorder the content sliders on the homepage, can you give me some direction?

Thanks, I’ve posted my question.
I hope I get a response.
Even when I have everything set correctly it bugs out.
Most questions posted after mine have been answered, however I didn’t receive any help.
Can you please get someone to help me with this issue.
It’s the only problem I’m having with the theme.
All of my team members have also looked into the issue and we all have the exact same buggy end result.
Can I PM someone my login info and get this fixed?
Hi @moretti856,
Thanks again for your purchase! We typically respond to requests within 24 hours or sooner. Please don’t think that because we’ve answered other issues that your issue has a lower priority—it depends on which specific support person is answering questions and whether they have the expertise to help you.
Feel free to email us the URL and login info to your site via our profile. We’ll take a look and see how the problem can be resolved.
Thanks again for choosing Nexus. I look forward to your message.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
I have emailed my site url, login info and an explanation of my issue.
Thanks for the information.
Support helped me like a charm! Thanks so much guys! 5 Star theme!
Will this theme work with woocommerce?
Hi @subc,
Thanks for your interest! Nexus hasn’t been tested for compatibility with WooCommerce, but I’ll be sure to update this thread if that changes.
Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.

Hello I am considering getting this theme but i have a few questions first,
1) for the homepage slider with interactive functions such as the email and phone number capture, how do i customize the image?
2) will there be any need to know or understand photoshop to edit this theme?
Thanks
Hi @pdiddy2aop,
Thanks for your interest! To answer your questions:I hope that answers your questions. Thanks for taking a look at Nexus.

I have another question about the Animated Sliders, does the editor(me) for example put the text in certain boxes to get the text and images to animate?
Or should I ask, how do I create a slider with the same functionalities of the animated sliders? Do i have to know web code, or any other program to get that functionality to work?
Thanks
Hi @pdiddy2aop,
To create an animated slide, you set a background image, and just add content via the standard WordPress content editor—the way you would with a page or a post. To add the animations, we’ve included a number of easy-to-use
[animate]shortcodes. If you want a particular item animated, you wrap it in an[animate]shortcodes, then choose the animation settings you want. Nexus comes with a shortcode generator to make this easier. In short, you don’t need to know any web code—you can create your slides with normal content and by using shortcodes.
I hope that answers your questions. Thanks for your continued interest!

One last question before purchase. Can you add in more browser support to IE8 ? It looks great on Chrome and Firefox as far as I can see, and it works on older versions of Android and iPod, too. I get that IE 8 doesn’t support CSS3 , but at least the layout shouldn’t change too much, and elements are not getting in each others’ ways.
Hi @samzhao,
Thanks for your continued interest and feedback! We’ve packed a lot of functionality into Nexus by employing graceful degradation, but we will of course continue to improve the experience in all browsers with subsequent updates.
Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Here’s the problem. I’ve tested the site on most major browsers. Below is a link to a screenshot of how the site looks in IE 8 . The layout will be completely messed up in IE 7 , but as most websites on the Internet start to drop support for IE 7 and below, I will also skip it.
https://s3.amazonaws.com/resultcaptures/056b9a05dc10f098b9d27a3748cdd6c9.full.pngHi @samzhao,
Thanks for the additional feedback. We’ll take a look at getting the font-based icons to load faster in IE8 .
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Hias, I haven’t decided which theme I want to buy yet, but yours looks interesting. Im going to use it mainly for the blog function, but I like “clean” styled blogs and I want to have side functions to attract the readers. A few questions for ya then, have tried to figure it out myself from the testpage but failed;
1) Is it possible to add an article page, displaying thumbnails/images, a summery text and “read more”-buttons, sortable by cathegories?
2) In the blog, can I post several separate images in one blog post, i.e. one thumbnail-image right-aligned, some text and then another image left-aligned, in the text? In your example you have like one image in top of every blog post.
Hi @shadowfire,
Thanks so much for your interest! Nexus doesn’t currently support a blog layout like the one you’ve described, but we’re always on the look out for cool new features to add. I’ll definitely update this thread if we implement a blog layout like that in a future version.
Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
Dear adaptivethemes,
Great work. I like the design and the features of your theme. Before I purchase, I need to solve one issue. I need to build the website multilingual in English and Arabic. So I have the following questions:
Thanks in advance! Greetings from the Persian Gulf!
Robert
Hi @RobertGrys,
Thanks so much for your interest (and kind words- Nexus is compatible with WPML .
- We haven’t tested the theme with a left to right language, so I don’t really have a good estimation of how long it would take to add compatibility.
- Unfortunately, we don’t currently have the manpower to provide customization services, but any consultant with WordPress experience should be able to do the job.
I hope that answers your questions. Please let me know if there’s any additional information I can provide.Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
I think I know why you only have a 4 star rating despite the theme being wonderful.
1. The documentation is pretty weak. 2. Having to load the theme with and ftp client is to difficult for the average WP user.
All of the themes that have staying power have great documentation. Consider doing some how to videos or beef up the documentation with examples. The stuff you have is great for experienced people but would spin the head of a novice user. It’s easy to loose site of this when you’re as knowledgeable as you obviously are with WP. Theme Blvd is a master at documentation and training videos.
Hi @JeroneRichards,
Thanks for the considered and thoughtful feedback. In response to your comment and other feedback we’ve gotten, we’re looking at creating some training videos and walkthroughs. We want all our users – both the experts and novices – to have a great experience so we’ll continue to improve Nexus with each release.
Please let me know if you have any other feedback or comments. Thanks for choosing Nexus!
Sincerely, Adaptive Themes
