Hello, I have one main portfolio category (“Portfolio”) and made two child portfolio categories of this main portfolio category.
Now, it is working fine with the options bar on the “Portfolio” page, but when I choose one of the child categories, the background image is not changing to the image, I set in the child category.
How can I change this, that the background image is switching to the image of the chosen category?
URL 2 check: http://www.photoroi.com/all/shootings/
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Klaus
Hi
What do you mean? Did you mean, you want the background image change into bg image of the choosen category when people click the filter? Really sorry but this is not the purpose of “background image” of category. The bg image of category will only shown in “real” category page URL not for filtering. You need hire really advance jquery master and php master to achieve something like this,
really sorry about this
Thanks
Hi,
yes, I thought, this is the idea.
Thank you
Kind regards,
Klaus
Hello,
is there a chance to change the filter, that it will not show up only when there are child categories, but all categories in the upper level like the main category?
Kind regards,
Klaus
Hi Klaus,
can I ask you, what is the purpose of the filter if it also display upper level categories? Clicking that filter will just make your portfolio lists goes blank (or maybe it will push some javascript error) because there is NO posts match with the filter. In fact, in the category pages, it only show list the portfolio posts under current category and child category (of current category).
I dont know if the site you’re working on is for a client or it is for your own business. Seems you really need hire a freelance, since your request is need some advance changes into the theme codes.
All the best!
Hi,
it is my private photographer website.
The filter is for showing up only shootings of special models. So, it would be great to show the background image of this special model with the shootings of the model.
Kind regards,
Klaus
how can i get the demo content for this theme
Sorry, we dont have the license to share the images – so, there is no demo content shared
Thanks!
Just a comment and a quick question. First, great theme, good documentation, and all around first rate work. Second, is there an optimal size that I should be using for the full screen images?
thanks,
NR
Hi, Many thanks!
Optimal size around 1200×1200 (square) or 1600×960 (landscape). The smaller size also will display fine, around 1024×768 or 860×860
Thanks again!
Hello – great theme. Is there a way to add a “no right click” to at least make it less easy to grab your photos from your site. Or is there another option that you have used? Thanks.
Hi
You can find lots of discussion on the net about this, this is the one example in Stack Overflow.
Simply code, put this in “js/global.js”(function($){ $(document).ready(function(){ $('img').on('contextmenu', function(e){ return false; }); }); })(jQuery);it will disable “right click” on any images in your site
Thanks!
Hello again,
So my Page Title has an apostrophe in it. So let’s say the title is John’s Website. When I look at the HTML source, the apostrophe is replaced by the following string: ’s.
<title>John’s Website</title>
In addition, when I get emails that are sent via the Contact Form page I’m using, the Subject line has “John’s Website Blog” instead of just John’s Website Blog.
Any idea if this can be corrected?
Thanks for your help.
Hi
Could you post your site url, please?
All ’ are converted into ’ at this comment
Many Thanks
Sure thing – it’s still in beta, still messing around with it. blog.trogsworld.com (my testing site)
Hi
I get it know. So, this is not an error / false from WordPress or the theme. WordPress apply some filters and convert some symbol into the right HTML code/number (readable by search engine, passed the valid HTML requirements) – check this http://ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm .
Your contact form plugin should do the job to filter it back into the original symbol, contact the plugin’s author might help or you can report about this problem into the plugin’s forum if the plugin is available for free in wordpress org
Thanks!
Ah, I got it. Thanks for the clarification. And one again, great work on this theme.
Couple of more questions (guess you can tell the newbies to your theme, eh?):
1) I love how the logo is centered and then zips to the upper left corner, one of the reasons I bought the theme. This only appears to work when in the “Home” settings I choose under Homepage Content either No Content or Portfolio. Can a change be made to make this work for Blog Posts as well?
2) When using the Featured Image (set feature image) for a Blog Post, there doesn’t appear to be a way to control the size of the image. As a result of this, when looking at the Blog home page, the pictures are cutoff from being sized too big. Do I need to size my Featured Image to a specific size so the whole picture will be viewable on the Blog home page?
Thanks again
Hi
1). Really sorry, but we must say “no” for this question. There is a limitation to create opening animation with the logo – and unfortunately we can’t apply this animation on blog post layout, really sorry.
2) Edit “blogloop-sidebar.php” and “blogloop-fullwidth.php”, find lines below on both files
/** autocrop the image */ $blogImage = ( has_post_thumbnail() && prime_get_attached_file($post->ID) ) ? prime_resize( prime_get_attached_file($post->ID), get_thumbOri($post->ID, 'full'), 1000, 380, true, true ) : '';and change with
this is will show your original featured image (without cropped) in blog post listing
Many Thanks!
EDIT : for homepage, open “functions-inc/home-template.php” change the line 111 too.
PS: sorry for little delay on reply
Ok, thank you for the reply and support. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the update on the homepage! Was just going to ask you this. Well done, works perfectly.
Okay, here’s another question. When you click on a portfolio box, it opens up the pics in the portfolio to view via a slider bar and you must scroll from left to right (or right to left) in order to view the pictures. Is it possible to change this to where the portfolio is viewed in one box and you click a left or right chevron (next or previous) to view the photos? I’ve noticed on my Android that this sliding from left to right can be a challenge sometimes.
Thanks again!
Tom
To continue – once you click on one of the photos in the slider, you are then presented with the lightbox and the next/prev option. So I guess what I’m asking is there a way to skip the “slider” part and go right to the lightbox? Thanks.
Hi there,
Sorry to say but, our support only for theme usage and (maybe) slight modification that not need lots of changes into the code. For more advance changes, please consider to hire a freelancer. Thanks for your understanding
Regards
That’s fine, no way to know if it is advanced modification or slight until the question is asked. Thanks.
Okay, sorry I’m being persistent on this.
When you click on the Portfolios page and you are presented with all of the 3D boxes of your portfolios (which is brilliant, by the way), can I make a change in the code that will bring up the lightbox where you can just use the forward/back arrow through the photos? I would rather do this than use the slider bar (which is the default).
One reason I would prefer to do this is that on a mobile or tablet, when you click on a portfolio, and then you choose one of the pictures in the slider bar, it just grays out the picture and it does not open up the lightbox to allow you click the forward/back arrow.
Can you just pinpoint me to which file this code is in and I can try and figure it out?
If it is very complex, then I don’t mind hiring a freelancer, but it would be nice to be able to point the freelancer to the right place. As another option, can I hire you if this requires more complex coding?
Thanks!
Did you mean show the lightbox when people click on portfolio lists (3D boxes)? You need to change the “href” value of the link – “functions/portfolio-template.php :: line 91” and “taxonomy-portfolio_cat.php :: line 72” , but this is not simple as that. You need make a function to call all images inside portfolio, connect it using jQuery to call the prettyPhoto, etc. Really sorry I’m not able for custom works right now
Did you have open “Theme Settings” in general settings tab, you will find an option to disable/enable lightbox in phone and tablet devices. Default is disable.
Many Thanks!
Thank you for the reply. Now I can at least point a freelancer in the right direction and make this change.
With regard to the mobile/tablet, I have it activated in the general settings tab.
So the issue is when I’m on my Android device (tablet/mobile), and I click on the 3d Box, I do get the slider bar and I can move through the portfolio left and right (this is where I just want to have the lightbox pop up and navigate with the forward/back arrow, but I’ll work on that). But each picture when “hovered” gets the circle with the plus sign, but when you click on the plus, nothing happens. This is what I meant. Does this make it clearer? Maybe it’s just an Android issue?
Thanks again, and as I said before, great, great theme.
Hi
The dev (person who replied to your comment above) is on holiday now (since now is public holiday in his country). We will ask the dev to test it again tomorrow. We’ll back to ya shortly
