Twitter feed no longer works due to Twitter’s v1 API retirement (7 hrs ago)? “Authenticated & unauthenticated requests to api.twitter.com/1/* will receive HTTP 410 Gone. Use API v1.1 instead.” https://dev.twitter.com/blog/api-v1-is-retired
And I found the ‘supposed’ fix here…
https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/get/statuses/user_timeline
This seems to be the problem then (inside jquery.tweetable.js, line 34):
var api = “http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name=”;
So I have tried changing it as suggested in the above link:
var api = “https://api.twitter.com/1.1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name=”;
No success. Any help available for this? I suspect everyone still using the v1 API will have this problem too.
Thanks for purchasing but sorry no hlep with this.
We’ll update the template in ThemeForest with no Twitter feed, soon.
There must be a simple fix! What else would you put in that area then?
it is not so simple, read the following :
https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/overview#Authentication_required_on_all_endpointsfrom the moment that authentication is required, this means that every buyer of any theme or template here must athenticate to twitter, in order to display tweets to his site.
Apologies for my last comment – just read about tweetable on github.
Perhaps this could be a different feed instead of removing it completely:
https://github.com/kevinburke/customize-twitter-1.1
Looks like the css would just need to be modified to fit the footer theme, and from there modify the installation docs for the theme (i.e. where people enter their twitter username and how to modify the css to their liking)?
The main issue is that every buyer for every site, must use OAuth for all methods in API v1.1, including user timeline.
That means, that author would ask from every buyer to register an application to twitter and enter their keys when configuring the twitter feed in the template or theme.
As you understand, from the author perspective it is just crazy
Would you be able to convert the nav bar to foundation’s “top bar” (http://foundation.zurb.com/old-docs/f3/navigation.php) As I need multi-level dropdowns and that mobile button-menu just doesnt fly for the menu complexity I have. I have already done a lot of CSS hacking, but it doesn’t work right for mobile. And if you are using any of the SCSS to generate the CSS I would like that too.
Thanks.
Hi,
sorry but we can’t do these changes.
Thanks.
What is preventing you from doing so?
Thanks.
You maybe know about SCSS but for the average user it is difficult to working.
About the menu, is our policy to not do customizations to our themes/templates. You can find a designer to make this for you if it is necessary.
Thanks!
I am able to hack it myself as I have done a lot of work as it stands, but I lack information and it would take a long time to sort out all the color selectors. Did you get the base foundation CSS by the online generator or use the stock as I would like to be able to generate it myself with the given color scheme/generator settings to work on this. If you generated it, I would appreciate if you could email me that information.
As for SCSS, I only mentioned it due to foundation relying on it/ruby for projects. I am aware of the learning curve.
Thanks.
does it come with documentation to hook up whmcs – also are there any any other charges for that to get that working?
thanks
No, this is a html template not a whmcs. Please read the item description.
This really is one of the best looking, well constructed and tastefully designed WHMCS templates I have seen ~ and I have seen a few lately.
Do you have any plans to do more, either with this template or a new one?
Thanks for the kinds words but actually it is a HTML template and not a WHMCS template.
With the HTML template we are giving and a basic WHMCS template (header/footer integration, no responsive) to give the possibility to the buyer to has the same design to his WHMCS installation.
A WordPress version is in progress.
Thanks for setting me straight.
In fact, the only reason I didn’t buy, so far, is that there is no responsive WP theme yet.
I was tempted to ask you but when I have asked other authors in the past, they either promised availability in weeks ~ which never arrived ~ or they told me “when its ready”.
Either way I didn’t have a basis to build my business using their products.
thanks.
We are in the middle of development, but i promise that we’ll upload it in next week.
Envato has a reward (a most wanted contest) about hosting themes/templates, so we want to quickly submit this
http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/envatos-most-wanted-5000-reward-for-the-first-15-hosting-templates-themes/100397Awesome ~ go for it!!!
thanks
One last question, will the WP version work with http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/whmcs-wordpress-integration/ or will there be a lot of duplication?
We must test it before integration to check the compatibility. I’ll inform you.
Excellent – I will wait for the WP version and your report then.
