hi sinote, is there a way to have 2 different portfolio detail-pages, or rather is it possible to set a different link for an portfolio item? (on my home-page i have 3 portfolio items, but when i click on it, i want to have different layouts for the detail page.) thanks!

Sinote

Hi,

Unfortunately not currently possible. You can configure the portfolio single layouts via the page builder from Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Portfolio > Layout, but this applies to all single portfolio posts layouts.

Hi!!

I would like to know, how can I insert a language selector in the header. I can insert it as a widget, but in the place where I want is not posible.

I haver read in others forums that I have to edit header.php and write this code ”<?php do_action(‘icl_language_selector’); ?>” but it doesn´t work.

Can you help me, please? Thank your!

Sinote

Hi,

You could use the Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Header > Header Info Panel field to include your shortcode. I believe we’ve left out the shortcode parsing functionality there, but I will add it, and can send you the modified file via email if you send me one via the contact form on my profile page.

If this position is not suitable for you, you could modify the header.php file, yes.

Cheers.

Thank you! I finally could do what I wanted modifying the header.php with this code:

<?php if ( function_exists( ‘qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode’ ) ) qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode( ’’ ); ?>

qtranslate-chooser { list-style-type:none; float:right }

qtranslate-chooser li { float : left; margin-right: 20px; margin-top: 10px; }

Hi is it possible to have multiple portfolio pages displaying different categories?

Sinote

Hi,

Sure, you can do this easily via the Page Builder. Just create your pages, then add for each the page builder element “Portfolio Layout” and select the appropriate category.

Is there a way to hide the category filters that don’t apply to that portfolio?

In the following link the pages Bali and Vietnam show all filterable categories but some don’t apply to that portfolio.

Unfortunately no. You’d need to hide the categories.

Would this be done in the functions.php file? I don’t know, would you be able to help here? or I did find this function, any help applying this to my situation?

//add filter add_filter( ‘get_the_terms’, ‘my_exclude_terms’, 10, 1 ); //function to do filtering function my_exclude_terms( $terms ) { //only filter for the homepage if( is_home() ) { // you may want to use is_front_page(), depending on your settings //list the unwanted terms $unwanted_terms = array( // fill this array with the unwanted term ids, slugs, or names 14, 18 ); // loop through the terms foreach( $terms as $k => $term ) { //only remove term if it’s ID or slug is in the array. if( in_array( $term->term_id, $unwanted_terms, true ) || //comment out this line to remove term ID checking in_array( $term->slug, $unwanted_terms, true ) || //comment out this line to remove slug checking in_array( $term->name, $unwanted_terms, true ) //comment out this line to remove name checking ) { unset( $terms[$k] ); } } } return $terms; }

Sinote

Hi,

See, this won’t be possible to do unless a lot of backend logic is modified, because the categories (when selected the option “display filterable categories”) are fetched before the posts are being queried, depending on the selected criteria.

So if you will be targeting specific posts (by category etc…) it might be the best option to hide the categories, as when they are being fetched, the script does not know which posts will be found later on … so again, for this functionality – a lot of backend logic will need to be tweaked.

An excellent theme overall, we discovered a MAJOR MOBILE BUG when viewing on mobiles eg. iPhone: any submenus (or other widgets) within the left sidebar area cannot be clicked.

(They seem to be invisibly covered up by the following element. They behavior can be observed in all desktop browsers too, using a very narrow browser window.)

Have you run into this issue yet? Here’s an example: http://antonibotev.com/themes/nova/?page_id=163 (reduce window with to about iPhone size).

a possible solution or workaround seems to be:

within the @media (max-width: 767px) section of the style.css add:

.main-content { clear:both; }
Sinote

Hi,

Yes, just recently such an issue came up. The solution is to add:

@media (max-width: 767px) {
    .sidebar .widget-wrap {
        float:none;
     }
}

in Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Theme Skins > Edit > “Additional Inline CSS”. This will be added in future releases to the main style.css of the theme.

Cheers

Hello, is it possible to add id to each link element in the navigation? Where would i add that?

e.g:

a href=”contact”

TO Instead display

a href=”contact” id=”menu-contact”

Out of the box, no. You’d need to use some custom walker classes, or some menu items filter functions to add your logic for this.

But I’d suggest to simply use menu item classes, instead of ids. Here is more on this topic – http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/68062/custom-id-for-certain-menu-item

Ah, I was hoping you had some magic way that wouldn’t require a custom walker class :)

The reason I wanted this was for Google In Page Analytics. It provides better results when there’s an id. I’ll see if it’s dom tree look up will suffice. Thanks.

hi i purchased the theme in the demo content i not coming all pages can you help to create a some pages and eccomerce page

Sinote

Hi,

The sample content, imported from the Admin Theme Options is picked content, to kick start your project, without flooding your WordPress installation with the hundreds unneeded posts and pages from the demo site.

We’ve built extra feature, to import specific page from the demo site, by pasting its url. So you can have clean and custom configured blog.

Anyway, if you’d like to still import the whole demo site data, please check this topic in the support forum http://support.antonibotev.com/forum/topic/279/nova-demo-site-xml You will see a link to the demo data.xml file to import.

Hi, I’ve purchased the Nova theme but there seems to be a bug. I can’t see any short codes. The whole page gets bigger and the scroll bar gets bigger but it’s just empty space… No short codes. I’m on 3.9. Any help would be awesome, thanks.

Sinote

Hi,

Since WordPress 3.9 update, there was a minor change in the admin, which caused some big troubles. We are preparing an update, to comply with WordPress 3.9. It should be out today or tomorrow.

Will keep you informed. Cheers.
