Hi guys just bought your theme yesterday. I really like it, really great design.

Just a few questions tho.

1. Why is there so much style info inline on the page? When I am viewing the source of my page the head area is packed with css. Am i doing something wrong??

2. Can you make a child theme from this theme?

3. Am I best creating the custom.css for the theme?

redfactory

Hi!

Thanks for the complements! Glad you like it :)

1) There’s actually not a lot of inline style. WordPress puts some inline style on images and such, but other then that there should not be any inline style. There is some custom css loaded which include settings from the backend. That’s why it’s included in the head of the html (instead of a css file).

2) Yes you can make a child theme :) It’s actually the prefered method for making custom changes to any theme. This allows for easy theme updates too :)

3) You could make a custom css file if you want. Just make sure it’s loaded after the style.css file and the custom css I talked about in #1. Though to be honest, if you have the knowledge, you’re better off creating a child theme.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have other questions.

Cheers :)

Nice theme! Can portfolio items have sliders, rather than single images?

redfactory

Hi,

The gallery currently doesn’t support slides for images. Thanks for the idea, sound like a nice feature :) We might add it in the future, though I can’t really give an exact date for it ;)

Any other questions I can help you with?

inspired by fetch.nl?

redfactory

Hi,

Actually no, it’s the first time I’m seeing fetch.nl. To be honest I think the design differs quite a lot from novum ;)

Cheers!

hello! such an excellent theme. My search for a theme for my business has ended here. I just had one query that if i purchase this theme can i get the same layout as shown in your demo so that i can just edit some of the contents and i am ready with my website?

Hey there! I just bought this theme and so far it rocks.

You mentioned above:

3) You could make a custom css file if you want. Just make sure it’s loaded after the style.css file and the custom css I talked about in #1. Though to be honest, if you have the knowledge, you’re better off creating a child theme.

Where exactly do you add this? I have tried in the header right before the </head> and I haven’t had any luck.

What might I be missing?

Thanks for the great theme.

the header.php needs to be edited so that it reads the style.css the proper way.

You need to change:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<?php echo get_template_directory_uri() ?>/style.css">

to this:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="<?php bloginfo( 'stylesheet_url' ); ?>" />

This will allow you to make changes to the style.css in the child theme.
