Octofirst Business Portfolio Wordpress 4 in 1

Hi, I purchased the theme and like what I see – great design. I’d like to display different categories in different pages, to split up our company’s news and blog posts onto separate pages. I’ve found out how to do this, and have successfully done it (quite easy actually, even though many people on other forums think it’s impossible!).

However, I need to place the relevant php code into the existing blog.php page template, as the current template I’m using is based on the default Kubrick theme. I took the template from http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#A_Page_of_Posts

Can you please help me crowbar the relevant code into your blog.php? Which sections do I copy, and where do I place them?

Thanks. Basically I want to place the code (taken from http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#A_Page_of_Posts)

which displays the relevant posts if the category matches the page ID. However, I don’t know if there’s more code that’s relevant, and I don’t know which code from your blog.php to replace. I’m a php newbie.

I’ve made a new template called PageOfPosts.php, which I will use for this.

What other information do you need?

All posts are displayed, not only News and Events categories.

Hi, the circular backgrounds used on the slider buttons are missing on my site… I only get the numbers. When I deactivate ‘Deactivate numbered slider buttons’, nothing is displayed, though the links are invisible and active. Any ideas?!

I am getting cache file does not exit. warning. Cache Folder is set to 777?

Hi There – I am having issues with the navigation buttons on the slider. I shut off the numbers and the whole thing disappears.

Is there anyway I can disable the links from the posts underneath the photo slider… I don’t want to link to the posts unless I can link to a actual page instead

Is there any possibility to change the column function (homepage) and to show just 1 column instead of 2 or 3?

I am trying to get my portfolio images to link to external links … However my links end up looking like this:

www.example.com/www.otherexample.com.

Almost as if it wants to link to a sub page in my website or something. I want to have the client links take my visitors to another site outside of mine. I have a feeling this is pretty easy to do… I know it is in the portfolio.php ha just not sure what to do with it.

I have a question. I have a home page that is http://ivyuprep/home-2 but I would like specialized home pages that do not show up on the drop down menu but will show up in case someone does a google search.

For example, I’d like to do home pages that with the URL “http://ivyuprep.com/home-2/bay-area-admissions-consulting/” “http://ivyuprep.com/home-2/bay-area-SAT-Prep/”

How do I do this? I thought I could do this with a private page.
