perfect! good work buch..
Awesome! The loan calculator is a really nice and useful touch. Good luck!
Really, really impressive theme here…quick question: is the homepage property search simply a widget in a particular sidebar? Reason why I ask is I plan to use this theme with the diverse solutions dsidxpress wordpress plugin (which embeds mls listing data into wordpress posts and pages and it has it’s own search widget which I would need to use and place in that exact same position. Please advise. Thanks in advance. Tom
The Search feature is not a widget. I’m not familiar with the dsidxpress plugin. I’m thinking if you use the plugin you’d have to do some modifications to the theme.
how do you control when and where you want the property search displayed? Is it either always on or always off, always left/right etc.? Also, if I didn’t want the property search on the home page what does that do to the the home page slider?
The code for the property search is hard coded for the homepage and the sidebar. There is no “option” to show or hide it. If you want it removed from the homepage or sidebar, then just edit the corresponding php files. You should be able to put the property search on any page, and it will just work. If you remove the property search from the home page, then you’ll be left with a blank area. The slider won’t be broken. You can put something in its place.
html version coming as well?
Sorry, no html version is planned. Funny, usually people request Wordpress, not HTML !
awesome one of the best real estate wp template..
Thanks!
nice stuff, is there a preview of the admin panel?
Yep! http://www.screentoaster.com/watch/stV0tVRk1IR15bRFhdWl5fVVZR/openhouse_theme_options
Wonderful! If only it supported ie6 I would buy it straight away
I see on some images on the slideshow, they show ‘sold’ or ‘reduced’. Is that something within the theme that offers that option or are they images with ‘sold/reduced’ already on them?
Also, I’m not seeing a secondary drop-down on demo after clicking on a ‘state’, ‘cailifornia’ for example as per your instructions.
Good looking theme.
The “sold”, “reduced” images are separate images that overlay the main images. When you add a property listing post, you choose a banner. Choices are: none, sold, reduced. You can add your own, but you’ll have to edit the banner.psd file, and add a little bit of simple code. I can help anyone out if questions arise.
Secondary drop-down. Thanks for catching that. Must have stopped working when i was validating the xhtml strict 1.0.
Here’s the fix (i’ll post this fix in the forum too). In includes/customsearchform.php, add:
name=”form” to the tag.
Its fixed in the demo. 2 states don’t have “counties”, so if nothing happens, try another state.
Having the additions of those ‘sold’ and ‘reduced’ tabs is a GREAT feature of this theme. I would have put that in the description. I’m ‘sold’.
Theme purchased and it won’t be for a real estate, so here goes for some ammending.
Top man!
Good point about the Reduced and Sold banners. I just added it to the description!
great stuff..
does it support other currencies and places for example great britain and british pounds?
cheers
Currencies:
In Theme Options, you choose from: USD , EURO, YEN , GBP, AUD , CAD, MXN . Choosing one of these options will add the appropriate currency symbol next to the property price. You can add other currencies, but you will have to do minor code editing. If you need help with this, i’ll be happy to help.
Places:
The locations are totally customized by you in the admin Theme Options. The demo has the first level as “U.S. States”. But you can make that whatever you want. You can also have a second level of locations. It’s optional, and enabled by default. For example, if you check out the demo, if you click on a state, (most states) a secondary location dropdown list appears with more specific locations.
If your primary locations are specific enough, then you may not need the secondary level locations. In that case, you just disable it in the Theme Options.
Remember, for the fastest support, I recommend you post on the forum. Posting there also makes posts searchable and more organized.
This theme is GORGEOUS ! and I am looking to use it for a Vacation Rental business. (I’m sure I can tweak it to my needs…)
Anyway my question before I buy is where do the images go on upload?
I have had issues in the past of not being able to keep images organized with all of the homes within the Media Center of WP.
I want to use NextGen Gallery, but am not sure if I need to make modifications or not.
Thanks!
Oh wait…Disregard my dorky question…Looks like I can just point to the image URL from the Nextgen Gallery…
THANKS ! I AM BUYING !!!!
Support from BuchmannDesign has been AMAZING !!
10 STARS – and thank you for the ultra fast responses via your forum!
Thanks! The secret to the fast forum support is that i get a phone text message whenever a post is made. So even if i’m away from my computer, (and not driving) i’m able to do support!
All right… I’m loving this theme, but I do have one question… Do you think it would mean major modification if I wanted to use an iframe to pull in my idx solution for my multiple listing service on a full page layout?
I can’t say for sure, but i’d think that would be quite a lot of modification. But if you’re well experienced in WP, css, html and php, then you might be fine.
I’ve got an idea for at least a temporary fix on it… I’m really excited! This theme’s amazing…
Im really intereted in your theme…. it looks great. But i got a couple of questions…. im planning to use it for brazil. Im gonna have trouble translating, changing the currencies, and locations of this theme?( I got not problem in modifing a little bit the php code.) Does it comes with the auto “thumb” feature for pictures? Also i would like to add virtual tours to the properties post. It’s just a *.swf I know that wordpress have some issues with flash, is there any way to embed it? or to call it in a fancybox or a lightbox ???? If i could solve some of this issues im gonna be happy of buying this template! thxs
If the theme does not support the Brazil currency symbol/character (i’m not sure what character/symbol it uses), then it really isn’t that hard to add. Just a little tweak to the functions.php file, and also the variables.php file. If you know the basics of PHP then it’s not a problem.
You can define the locations to be whatever you want. You enter them in the Theme Options. See the description of the theme for a video preview of the entire Theme Options panel.
The theme already uses the prettyphoto jquery plugin which makes a lightbox for Youtube and Vimeo videos. I’m pretty sure the plugin also supports flash video. So it would just be a matter of you formatting the URL correctly so that it opens up in the lightbox.
I’m ridiculously impressed with the expansion on this theme. You really went above and beyond the call of duty. The CSS theme color changer is what really warmed my heart, lmao.
I was wondering, can the theme import property listings directly from the MLS /MLX, or are properties manually inserted?
They are manually inserted. But I am currently investigating the dsidxpress plugin which will pull in MLX data. Problem for the buyer is that it costs them $30/month with a $99 setup fee. So i’m hesitant to invest time to add this if few people would use it because of the cost.
I bet you could use a CSV -WordPress plugin to add properties in bulk… Nice theme bro, its on my ‘To Buy’ list
Jay
Hello.
So far the theme was really easy to get going. Great Job.
I am trying to adjust 2 things on my site I am doing.
I noticed on your sample on themeforest the text on home page under neath Open House Real Estate in bottom left is large and has extra line spacing. When I installed theme my home page text was small and had tight line spacing. I tried to adjust in style.css the line that says body { font-size: 62.5%;
but it changed all the text on home page and messed up the look of entire site..
How do I make look like themeforest sample and change the text size on home page so it is larger and legible with out changing all the text on home page.
I am also having an issue at top of the website and there is 10 – 20 pixel area of a solid color before the graphic shows. On the theme forest sample that is also not there. I can send you a link if needed for reference.
Thanks for your help -Ray
That small text needs to be enclosed in HTML Paragraph tags. That will fix it.
Yes, please send a link. But instead of posting it here, please post to the forum. The link is in the description. That way we keep all the support questions organized and searchable by others, and if we need to the thread can be as long as we need without cluttering up these comments. Thanks!
Thanks for super fast reply. I posted both questions in forum and paragraph tag fixed that right up..
Hi, nice theme! I was wondering, does this theme support custom search criteria? For example, for real estate listings, a user can do a search and have it sorted out by location, pets allowed, balcony view/no view, etc. Is this easy to do with this theme or does it require custom programming?
Also, is it easy to upload images with this theme?
Thanks!
The only search parameters are the ones you see in the preview. You could dig into the code, understand how it works, and then go ahead and add more search parameters. You’d need to be comfortable with basic PHP . But more search parameters would not fit in the box next to the slider. I chose what I felt to be the most common and traditional search parameters to be included in the search.
You upload images using the standard Wordpress images upload feature. You copy the full URL and then paste it into the Images section of a post.
