I’m not finding the styling improved in IE9 in the new version. http://sportsrantz.com/sportsmarketing/ The site looks great with Chrome or FF but IE it is completely distorted.

As you see our demo site looks in IE exactly the same as in Chrome or Safari.
CSS impprovement in new version are for IE8 not IE9. In IE9 prevoius version work OK also.
Please send me dashboard access. I check what is cause problems on your site.

If you mean features at the moment is very small difference.
We have add some Maximus features (portfolio, WP Revolution Slider plugin etc) by Openspace upgrade so features of both are very simmilar.
Maximus have few additional shortcodes (team box shortcode, 3circle widget area for header etc).
Openspace have multicolor numbered menu.

No. But is widget latest posts. You can place it in any widget position.
In 99% cases it is enough.
But if you will place latest posts inside page or post content you can use plugin Widget on pages http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widgets-on-pages/

i have solved using “posts on page” plugin. Now i’d like to know if is possible to localize any default text like “Category”, “Title”, “Comment” , “Leave a reply”, ecc.. Cause i need to translate them to italian.

This is possible. In wp-content/themes/openspace/langauages/ you find file dp_theme.pot.
Use poedit (http://www.poedit.net/) to translate it and generate .mo file rename to it_IT.mo.
This file should be plased in the same folder wp-content/themes/openspace/langauages/

But if you find it uncomfortable please write me email with dashboard access on studio@dynamicpress.eu. I install you small patch witch avoid overwrite this address with custom email address. Or if it impossible I sent you patch per email.

Good to know, still trying to juggle my decision on which theme to obtain next.

openspace.zip is only theme file.
Should be install as described i in documentation or video. Possible error can be caused by setting of your server.
If allowed upload file size is low 10MB theme will be not properly installed because is larger as 10MB. In this case you should change server setting or simply use traditional install method via FTP.

This can be dissabled in OpenSpace ->Template Options ->Social API. You can disable each option (Facebook, +1, Twiter, PinIt) seprate.
You can also exclude display social buttons for some pages, posts, categories.

Additionall CSS you can add in style.css of child theme. Additional functionality for child theme (for example another text domain you can add in created in child theme directory functions.php.
Please note that generally a WordPress child theme is a theme that inherits the functionality of another theme, called the parent theme, and allows you to modify, or add to, the functionality of that parent theme without changing code of parent theme.
Openspace support child themes but most of advantage of child theme can be achieved using built in features:
- custom CSS code field in admin panel
- custom CSS styles selectable in admin panel
