Hey,

Really like the theme. I just wondered if it is possible to have the homepage as a portfolio (with one set of filtered items only) and then another portfolio page somewhere else on the site which shows all the items apart from the ones from the homepage?

Thanks

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

not currently, but that may be possible with some features I have planned for a future update :)

Cheers

Default-user

Hey,

Thanks for the quick response. Shame it currently doesn’t have that functionality.

One other quick question, is it possible to have the homepage as a static page rather than the portfolio?

Cheers

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Yeah, you can set the homepage to be whatever page you like, no problem :)

Cheers!

Default-user

Great, thanks.

Will go and purchase it now.

Is there anyway to break up the pictures on the homepage to add text or etc?? But still keep that format?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

I’m afraid not, the homepage operates only as you see in the demo :) Perhaps an extension option could be added to a theme update, I’ll have a look into it.

cheers!

Great looking theme—congrats! I’m considering purchasing it, but am wondering if it’s possible to password protect specific portfolio/galleries? Thanks, —Mark

tommusrhodus

Thanks :)

This currently isn’t a feature, but is on the roadmap for the theme since it ties in to a few other update ideas we have. So look out for updates :)

Beautiful template. Looks excellent via mobile devices, too. So, is this homepage masonry style limited to images from the portfolio or can they also be linked to blog posts?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Currently limited to portfolio, but there’s no reason this couldn’t be implemented as another blog layout in the next update :)

Great idea!

Tom

moxiehq

Awesome. That would be great. I’m going to get this and hope for an update. Thank you.

Update is scheduled for this Thursday (21st) :)

how I can leave the portfolio in 3 columns? I want to leave it as in the example, but I just leave it in 4 columns.

Great theme BTW!

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

The theme adjusts columns depending on screen width, resize your browser window to see what I mean :)

Hello, I’ve never had an AJAX theme before so I wanted to make sure I understood a few things before I bought this theme. Let’s say I wanted to use the Portfolio Mason layout as my homepage. Is it true that as I post pictures to Wordpress, it will automatically refresh and you can see each new picture post without having to reload the page?

Thank you!

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

No, the homepage uses AJAX loading for grabbing the posts behind each picture. Notice you can click through, and even switch between posts with no page reloading? This is where the AJAX comes in :)

As for posting, this required a page refresh as there’s new database queries to be processed.

Hi, great theme!

Is it possible to add search? If so, is it possible to add a search box just before or after the social icons?

Thank you!

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Totally :) Just can do that with the regular search widget :)

¡Salud!

Default-user

Let me explain, the main menu remains the same. While each page should have a different sub-menu. how can I create menu?

tommusrhodus

Oh right, hmm.

This functionality isn’t baked into the theme, but it seems there’s a number of plugins that can do this for you;

Why using google chrome I see the lettering cut?

Default-user

solve me this an i buy the theme… tnks :-)

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Google Chrome can sometimes have issues if you have a Google font installed on your system that matches the one used on the site (Crazy, isn’t it?!)

Do you have either ‘Oswald’ or ‘Open Sans’ installed locally, if so, disable the fonts then retry the page.

Hi I see the homepage is visual with the portfolio. is there another static sort of page that can be used for the homepage besides the portfolio one?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Any static page can be set as the homepage :)

For future updates Iill be putting together a few extra home styles as well :)

Sorry. I’m new to templates and I’m setting up my photography website. I bought this template but I’m having problems displaying thumbnail images on the masonry layout if the images are in portrait orientation mode. Is there a way to display both horizontal and vertically shot images as thumbnails?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

No problem, so if I understand correctly, you want a way to display mixed ratio images on your homepage rather than the cropped to landscape images the theme currently permits?

Well no problem :)

I’m updating the theme tomorrow and this will be one of the new theme options :)

Cheers!

Thanks so much! Just to be clear, when I use a portrait oriented image in a portfolio post, it does not show at all on the home page. It is blank, not cropped to landscape mode. Perhaps I’m not posting it correctly. BTW: the install directions are really good.

tommusrhodus

Thanks :)

Hmm, are you adding the image to ‘the featured image’ when you make the post? the ‘homepage’ template grabs images from ‘the featured image’ for this.

Make sure you’re not uploading huge images, the theme will crop them for you, but there’s no need to upload images wider than 1000px width :)

Cheers

Yes, I just rechecked it, it is set as the featured image. Any image that is wider than taller works, but the ones that are taller than wider only have text displayed on home page with no graphic. see dougmcfarlandstudio.com I expect your mixed ratios change will fix this. Sorry, I’m not too technical.

tommusrhodus

No problem,

The mixed ratio update just went live on theme forest so grab the updated files and use this article to help you update;

http://docs.woothemes.com/document/how-to-update-your-theme-to-the-latest-version/

With the update in place, go to “site settings” in “appearance” => “customise” and turn off vertical crops for the homepage, it’s only a checkbox :)

If you need any help after that, feel free to join us at our ticket service where I can offer support more easily;

Thanks Tom! Noticing that I needed to use an image that is at least 600 pixels wide for a vertical image solved the problem.

Hi, I have two question… 1)You can have your home page as a portfolio and then other pages with custom portfolio different than the homepage?

2) Is possible to reduce the view of the site, I mean not to see the width 100%

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

I’ve done this in the demo, but it’s not really currently possible (in a useful way) in the theme itself, but multiple portfolio support is coming in a future update :)

AudioPizza

Question. How can I change the order of my portfolio posts?

AudioPizza

Thank you!

AudioPizza

A few more questions.

1. How can I get the same contact form like in “contact” page in your template?

2. When I open “contact” page in your template its title is “get in touch”, but when I create my “contact” page I have “Contact” title. How can I change it?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

1. The contact page is made using a page builder layout, using a few text boxes and a contact form 7 short code;

2. Set your page title to whatever you want, then in “appearance” => “menus” click the little downward arrow on your menu item and edit its label to whatever you need :)

Cheers!

AudioPizza

1. Got it!

2. I changed “Navigation Label” and “Title Attribute” but nothing happens. Still “Contact” title.

3. One more thing. I want to send email using the contact form but all I see is “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” how to fix it? iMy email already is in settings of the contact form.

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

2. Maybe would be best to use my ticket service to I can help a little more here, then you can provide a link to your site also;

http://tommusrhodus.ticksy.com

3. If contact form 7 isn’t sending you should contact your web host, contact form 7 is usually considered bullet-proof and each web host I’ve ever come across is well aware of Contact Form 7 and will likely be able to instruct what you need to do :)

Cheers!
