WPML Plugin dont work with Homepage.
All other pages translate correctly. The homepage stays at the same language that is selected from THEME Control Panel (Homepage Management)
Any idea solving that ?
We have been using this theme for some time now and a couple of weeks ago updated the theme and WordPress version to 3.6. Everything was working fine after those updates. Just noticed this week that the slideshow isn’t working anymore on the home page. The photos are loaded to the server, but aren’t showing up. It appear to scroll through the photos but only shows a tiny box in the upper left corner with a blank white area where the photo should be showing up. I’ve verified that my ovid folder is set to 755 for chmod and cache folder is set to 777. Any thoughts on why this all of a sudden stopped working. I just upgraded to WordPress 3.6.1 thinking that might help but didn’t seem to fix it.
I’m thinking that I deleted the post that helps make the slider work. I’ve got all the photos under the Slides section. Not sure what settings I need on the post to get this to work again??? Any direction here would be wonderful. Thanks!
I found the manual in my files, but there isn’t anything in it explaining on the slider on the home page works. Can someone please help me get the slider working properly again?
I have the latest theme installed already and am not using any outside plugins.
Can you send me directions on how to get the home page slider to work? It’s not listed in your manual and maybe the route of my problem.
Provide URL of your site please.
Just sent you a pm. Thanks!
I bought the template ovid and has an error in the slide.
The error occurred when I installed wordpress 3.6.1
This is the route: http://apareyescatolicos.com/wp-content/themes/ovid/templates/template-slider-jQuery.php
This is the file that fails:
The slide does not work for errors in the rotation of images.
I replaced the files and the problem continues, the images in the slide can not be seen.
I had installed the 3.6.1 version of wordpress and I made ??the switch to version 3.6 and the problem persists.
This is the file that has problems: template-slider-jQuery.php
When I activate the function “iQuery Vertical Slider” from Ovid settings,> Slider> Slider style, does not work the slide on my website.
This is my website: http://apareyescatolicos.com
Also did you edit theme code?
peerapong ovid supports WPML plugin ?
I just upgraded my client’s website to WordPress Version 3.6.1 and the theme to Version 1.5. I noticed that after the upgrade the shortcode for the portfolio scroller was no longer functioning properly. I’m referring to this shortcode: [portfolio2 items=”12”]
Please take a look at the home page of this site:
You can see the portfolio scroller at the bottom of the page. But if you click on the arrows, it no longer scrolls. I’ve noticed that after a minute or so sometimes it abruptly shows the next set of portfolios. This used to function perfectly before the upgrade.
I’d greatly appreciate any insight you can offer on this, so we can complete the project.
On a completely separate note…
This particular website was terribly compromised by the “TimThumb.php Hack,” which we have now completely resolved for the client. I don’t know if you’re aware of this security vulnerability, but your theme uses TimThumb, and is using the old version which has the vulnerability. I was shocked to see you hadn’t updated TimThumb.php in version 1.5 of this theme. My client’s website was severely compromised because of this exploit. You should update TimThumb.php to Version 2.8.13, which resolves the problem. This exploit allows hackers to write files of their choosing to the cache folder, and gain complete access to the site. It’s a very serious flaw that used to be in TimThumb. I updated this on my client’s site when cleaning out the problem, but your theme still has the old version. Yieks!
Anyways, thanks ahead of time for your help with the portfolio shortcode…
I have already updated it to the most recent version for my client, as I described above. I was trying to warn you that your theme (V.1.5) still has the old version of TimThumb (V.2.8), and as such is vulnerable to the “TimThumb Hack.” This is exactly what happened to my client, and we had to completely re-install their website from scratch to clean out the intrusion. When I downloaded the latest version of your theme (as part of the re-installation), I saw you had not updated TimThumb.php. I went ahead and updated it for my client, but wanted you to know as well so that others who purchase your theme are not vulnerable to this exploit.
Regarding the [portfolio2 items=”12”] shortcode…
These are the plugins that are active on that website:
Google Maps Widget (WebFactory)
Login Logo (Mark Jaquith)
WordPress SEO (Joost de Valk)
Google Analytics for WordPress (Joost de Valk)
Admin Menu Editor Pro (Janis Elsts)
Google XML Sitemaps (Arnee Brachhold)
I’d greatly appreciate it if you can help us to determine the true cause of this, and where the JS conflict is, if that is indeed the problem.
At the moment this is the only thing not functioning properly on this website. We’d like to resolve this asap.
Thanks for your help!
Really sorry, I can’t support on all 3rd party plugins issue. Please try to read its documentation or contact plugin author.
If you’re interested in hiring a developer for building out this custom page template for you, we highly recommend to check out: Tweaky
Just to rule out that the plugins are the cause, I have now gone ahead and deactivated each one at a time, and tested if the portfolio shortcode started working again. This did not make any difference, as I knew it wouldn’t. The plugins are NOT the cause!
I tried telling you in my previous message that this shortcode stopped working after having updated the theme to version 1.5, and WordPress to version 3.6.1. Before this update this shortcode worked perfectly. Further, the plugins have not changed since the update. I was using the same ones before, and the shortcode worked. Now that I have deactivated each one, this proves they are not the cause.
You’ve been very dismissive of everything I’ve said, and its not appreciated. I’m supporting your theme by using it for our clients. The least you could do is take due diligence and determine the real cause of this problem. Simply saying it’s a third party plugin issue is not providing support for your theme, and, you’re simply not correct about this.
I also tried telling you that you had the older vulnerable version of TimThumb.php in the latest version of your theme and are continuing to distribute it, putting other websites at risk. My client’s website was hacked because of this. The least you could have done was say thank you for letting you know.
I think I deserve a real answer here regarding the shortcode. The problem is not a plugin, and is clearly related to the theme and WordPress in their latest versions. You should be supporting the theme as it relates to updates and these kind of problems. I’m the owner of a digital firm, and we work with lots of themes for our clients; and most theme developers offer some basic support, and sometimes more than that without deferring to advising to hire a developer as you have.
Please take some responsibility here and simply help me to determine what is wrong.
Could you send your Wordpress account and FTP detail please.
I’m glad you’re willing to help, but we cannot provide direct access to one of our client’s accounts. This would violate our security policies, and we only provide this kind of access to developers we work with on an ongoing basis. If I were to grant you access, I’d have to make a special one-time FTP account and WordPress account for you.
Is it not possible to identify the problem by looking at the errors and warnings of the website in a code inspector? If you could find the source of the problem, perhaps we could correct it on our end. Also, are you seeing this problem in other installations? As I said earlier, this started happening after updating both the theme and WordPress. Perhaps this issue is common to everyone who has updated like we did.
I do need to solve this, but would prefer to do it without making special accounts first. I’m sure you understand my concern.
Hi ! Id’like to try out you theme before buying it. Is it possible ?
It look very good but I’d really like to test it on my integration plateforme first.
Thx a lot.
Sorry it doesn’t have trial version of theme.
The arrows that scroll through the articles aren’t working (about three quarters of the way down the page). I’m not really sure how to troubleshoot this myself, so I apologize if this is a total noob issue.
I just tried that, and the articles at the bottom still won’t scroll: http://sij.staging.wpengine.com/
Could you try to disable all plugins too please.
Sorry for the delay in response, was out of the office. I edited the CSS only. However, I restored the default CSS here http://sij.staging.wpengine.com, and as you can see the slider isn’t working. I’ve also de-activated all my plugins at that URL.
I checked your site and your slider works fine? Also if it’s used all original theme code then how did you change background image?
Whoops, sorry about that I was restored my staging site incorrectly. At any rate, the slider is fine, the content rotator at the bottom of the page is the issue. I just re-installed a fresh version of Ovid v1-5, and the content rotator still won’t rotate.
The question about the background, its been a while since I changed it, but I’m I just overwrote the default background image with my own. It seems like that would be an odd thing to break the content rotator at the bottom.
Pls help me, I am emploring for your help. Pls Peerapong, pls… :/
I tried everything but i didn’t it..
I created a new gallery, but i must to change image size of gallery..

<br class="clear" />

<?php echo dimox_breadcrumbs(); ?>

$portfolio_sort = get_option('pp_gallery_sort');
$portfolio_sort = 'DESC';
$args = array(
'post_type' => 'attachment',
'numberposts' => $portfolio_items,
'post_status' => null,
'post_parent' => $post->ID,
'order' => 'ASC',
'orderby' => 'menu_order',
$all_photo_arr = get_posts( $args );
if(isset($all_photo_arr) && !empty($all_photo_arr))
foreach($all_photo_arr as $key => $portfolio_item)
$image_url = '';
$image_id = $portfolio_item->ID;
$image_url = $portfolio_item->guid;
$last_class = '';
$line_break = '';
if(($key+1) % 4 == 0)
$last_class = ' last';
$line_break = '<br class="clear" /><br />';
$line_break = '<br class="clear" />';
<div class="one_fourth<?php echo $last_class?>">
<a title="<?php echo $portfolio_item->post_title?>" href="<?php echo $image_url?>" rel="gallery">
<img src="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri(); ?>/timthumb.php?src=<?php echo $image_url?>&h=130&w=200&zc=1" alt="" class="img_nofade" width="200" height="130" />
<div class="portfolio200_overlay"><img src="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri(); ?>/images/icon_image.png" alt="" class="" /></div>
//End foreach loop
//End if have portfolio items
<!-- End main content -->
<br class="clear" />
if(!isset($hide_header) OR !$hide_header)
<!-- End content -->
<?php get_footer(); ?>
It means width=200px and height=130px. You can change it.
But you might also need to change theme CSS code too.
Did you know about Firebug a Firefox plugin?
The main CSS file is /css/screen.css
Thank you soo much this is wonderful plugin… I did it

When we upgraded to WP 3.7.1, it uncentered the slider content on the homepage and also disabled the ability to switch from ‘visual’ to ‘text’ in the page editor. I’ve already tried downloading and replacing the latest version of the theme. Can you help?
See the homepage of www.lcumomentum.org to view the uncentered slider content. Thanks.

So when we upgraded to WP 3.7.1, it uncentered the slider content on the homepage and also disabled the ability to switch from ‘visual’ to ‘text’ in the page editor. I’ve already tried downloading and replacing the latest version of the theme. Can you help?
Please update to the latest version of theme. It should fix your issue.
Also please make sure, all of your plugins support Wordpress 3.7.1
We have already replaced all the theme files. Any other ideas?
Did you edit theme code? I think the issue might comes from your code change as I tested the latest version of theme with WP 3.7.1 and it works fine.
I can’t create a child theme with ovid . Is this possible?
I love your theme but I’m frustrated about the jquery slider. Suddenly it didn’t work properly.
I reinstalled everything today and i can’t get it to work properly.
It doesn’t move and is out of place.
Please help me fix this.
The site is http://www.haka-nederland.nl
Sorry did you edit theme code?
Hi, no I didn’t touch any code.
Peerapong, the issue still isn’t solved. After sending you the login the slider is now centered, but still not sliding. I emailed you twice now, but no reaction. The client is getting frustrated. Please help!
I tested your site again and like I told you before. I can click on bullet to slide the slider content so it works.
Come om Peerapong, what are you talking about?! Look at your own site: http://themes.themegoods.com/ovid_wp/ The jQuery slider slides by itself not only by clicking on the bullets! Please look at it again!
Hi Peerapong, I waited 15 days for you to react on my question. I haven’t heard from you at all and still the slider isn’t working as it should. I gave you the WP and FTP details, please have a look at it again, will you?
Jetpack 2.6 does not work with Ovid, I get these two error messages when I click on certain links in the main menu:

The problem disappears if I switche on the default theme.
Any ideas? Thanks !
Could you send your Wordpress account and FTP detail please. I will have a look.
Problem resolved after the last update (2.6.1) from Jetpack.
