Hi there

Is it possible to change business hours widget so it only shows hours Mon-Fri, and does not list Sat/Sun at all?

Is it possible to add time to the appointment widget?

thanks Mary-Anne

NiceThemes_com

Hi Mary-Anne,

Thanks for writing. Unfortunately that’s not possible with the theme as it is right now.

With regards to adding time to the appointments widget, the only way to achieve that at the moment would be adding the code. Maybe you can add a text widget below indicating that they have to send the time in the message box?

Hello,

We would like to buy your theme. We have just a question before, is it possible to have in the service page, a slider with more than one image?

Thanks

Hi There,

Thanks for writing. Unfortunately that’s not possible through the options. You’ll need to dig into the code or get a plugin that does that.

Hi,

I just installed WPML and so far things are working pretty well. I just translated my slides on the homepage and it is showing both the english and the french slide even though they are both set to their respective languages.

Any idea on what I can do to fix it?

Another issue is the translation of the items in the “nice themes” setting.

Is there any way you would recommend going about adding it to: -call now wording -staff title -Welcome Message (extended) -staff button text

etc.

NiceThemes_com

Hi there,

Thanks for your purchase.

That sounds pretty strange. What version of WPML are you using?

With regards to the items on the Nice Themes options panel, unfortunately at this moment the way to translate that would be setting them manually in the template, with the gettext functions in order to translate them later from the .po and .mo files

Best, Juan.

Thanks I will look into using gettext functions. I am using the latest version of WPML 3.1.4 Any tips for the slider?

NiceThemes_com

Thanks for your prompt response. I’ve been through the WPML forums and many people is talking about some problems with the function get_posts() that is used in our slider.

http://wpml.org/forums/topic/get_posts-shows-all-languages/

Would you try to add the ‘suppress_filters’ parameter and see if the problem is resolved?

Best, Juan.

Default-user

Sorry trying to familiarize myself with wordpress still. Could you tell me where I would add the suppress_filters parameter?

NiceThemes_com

No problem.

That would be line 99 of header.php, the get_posts() query.

Best, Juan.

Default-user

Cool that worked perfectly. Thanks.

I’m happy to hear that :)

Hi Juan – You mentioned that it is possible to have the masonry blog on the homepage under the slider with some code, can you provide some instructions please? Thanks.

NiceThemes_com

Hi,

The blog masonry can be used as the front page by setting that on the “Settings > Reading” panel in the WordPress dashboard.

With regards to having the slider there, you’ll need to dig into the code. Check the header.php file, the conditionals of the flexslider code. Also, the functions that enqueues the flexslider scripts. They’re only loaded when the template-home.php file is used.

Unfortunately we don’t provide support on customizations so I can only give you some hints.

Best, Juan.

NiceThemes_com

Hello,

Thanks for writing.

The tweeting time comes directly from twitter. There’s no way to change the data from origin. However, there’s a filter named nice_twitter_posted_since.

Great! How do i use that? My PHP is rusty! :) Is it just as simple as wrapping the date in this function call?

NiceThemes_com

I’m sorry but we don’t provide support on customizations.

On that filter you have the string with the date that is going to be printed, you can create your own function and give that string the treatment you need. I’d recommend you to have a look at the filters documentation on the WordPress codex. http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_filter

Hi, for some reason, in the css, .featured-image has width 24.6% commented out. But on safari, firefox and chrome, they all restrict the image to this, even though it’s commented out. If i temporarily disable the css, it works as intended.

Version: 3.8.1, Line 2829

media=”all” .blog .post .featured-image { margin-top: 8px; width: 24.6%; }

NiceThemes_com

Hello,

What version of the theme are you using? That styles are part of the blog layout. The idea of that style is that the featured image occupies that width of the post area. I can’t see any commented code there on the last version of the theme.

Hi, This is what i could find:

You are running the theme: Paeon Version: 1.0.3

Thanks

I’d recommend you to update to the latest version. We’ve pushed a modification on that regard for version 1.0.5

Ahh i worked it out. For others out there, goto your wordpress admin page > NiceThemes > Updates.

NiceThemes_com

I’ve just re-checked and the theme version on ThemeForest is 1.0.5 (the latest one). Are you still getting v1.0.3?

The updates on the WordPress dashboard have to do with the NiceThemes framework. To get the theme update you should get it on themeforest or our website.

Juan.

Default-user
trungie Purchased

Yes, i got the update 1.0.5 message on the wordpress dashboard page. I’ve sent you an email to get the .zip from your website. Thanks.

NiceThemes_com

The number that you get in the WordPress dashboard is the version of the Nice Themes framework.

Please download the file on ThemeForest, open the file /paeon/changelog.txt and tell me if you’re getting the 1.0.5 version.

Thank you, Juan.

Default-user

No. I’ve got 1.0.5 in /paeon/changelog.txt

NiceThemes_com

Then that’s the latest version. You need to re-upload those files to your server.

I’ve upgraded to 1.0.7 but the issue is still there. If i disable style width in style.css:2994 it works as intended. Can you advise?

Hi,

When using the “Blog – masonry theme”, scrolling down loads extra posts – fantastic. However it loads duplicates of posts which are already there.

Is there a known bug with this? I am running v 1.0.3.

Thanks.

p.s. is this theme on github? Happy to pull-request if i ever stumble on anything.

NiceThemes_com

Hello,

Thanks for writing.

It shouldn’t be loading duplicate posts.

Would you please open a ticket in our support platform on http://nicethemes.com/support so we can follow this case there?

No, the theme is a premium theme and it’s not on github.

Hi there Is it possible to change the colour of the Call text on the homepage, which replicates to the top of every page. Is there custom css to do this? On my site it is the text that reads Free Initial Consultation – Call Now 02 4929 6738 http://test.ilaservision.com.au/

thanks :)

NiceThemes_com

Hi, Thanks for writing.

I’ve replied over the forums. You’ll need to play around with the CSS class .call-now

That would be for example:

.call-now{ color: #333; }

Hello, Is it possible to have the staff template display the staff like the home page does. It looks like I need to change it from a .three-col-grid to a .four-col-grid. Any help or advice in the right direction would be great. You can view the site at http://wsilocalsearch.com/projects/themcleodfirm/attorneys/

Thanks in advance.

NiceThemes_com

Hello,

Thanks for writing.

Unfortunately that’s not possible through the options panel with the theme as it is right now.

You can modify the staff template and make it four columns instead of three.

Unfortunately we don’t provide support on customizations, I’d recommend you to take the file template-staff.php and modify the code. Change the columns variable to 4 and work on the grid, using four col grid instead of three. I can’t assure if responsiveness and the layout will work when modifying that. But that would be the path I’d take if I wanted to have four columns instead of three.

I’d like the slider to not move horizontally when it’s changing. What is the recommended size or ratio i should scale/crop images to?

The optimal size for the homepage slider images is 2560×1000px or bigger.

Hi, Great theme!

I’ve added several large images that spread across the ‘Full Width’ template but when viewing on smaller screens or mobile devises the images don’t change in size (or aren’t ‘responsive’)?

Any ideas on how I can make the images responsive?

NiceThemes_com

Hi,

Thanks for your kind words. Try adding the following CSS to the file custom.css

.entry img{ max-width: 100%; }

Best, Juan.

Thanks for the super-fast reply Juan! That seems to squish the image width only?

No worries. Can you check if the image you’ve added has an inline value for the height?

Hi Juan,

Just letting you know that on WP 3.8.1, the icons on the left inside the WP admin area are not really visible and don’t match the theme of WP.

They appear to be black icons on dark grey backgrounds, where all the other icons are white on dark grey.

See http://i.imgur.com/pDuZrps.png

Cheers.

NiceThemes_com

Hi There,

Thanks for writing.

The admin looks that way with old versions of the themes, when WordPress 3.8 wasn’t out and the admin scheme was different.

If you update your theme to the latest you’ll see everything as it should.

Hi again,

I just started to look into using gettext for the wpml translation of the nicetheme options.

so I am looking to translate the home body extended:

$nice_welcome_message_extended = get_option( ‘nice_welcome_message_extended’ );

Does this count as hard coded text since it seems to be generated from the database?

How do I use the gettext function from wpml here?

is it like follows:

$nice_welcome_message_extended = _(get_option( ‘nice_welcome_message_extended’ ,’paeon’));

NiceThemes_com

Hi There,

The problem with doing it that way is that you’ll need to update the texts catalog each time you update the option.

The way to hardcode that would be:

$nice_welcome_message_extended = __( ‘your text here’, ‘nicethemes’ );

Best, Juan.

Default-user

changing it to this or with _e instead seems to be putting the text above the $nice_welcome_message. I think this has to do with it not being stored in the $nice_welcome_message_extended variable and just echoing right away when the _e is used?

NiceThemes_com

The thing is that e() echoes the text, _() assigns the string to the variable, that’s why I used __()

Hi Again,

I am trying to make the header static on the homepage above the slider.

I have managed to do it but I am getting a large margin below the slider image and the body content.

This seems to be due to the wrapper div having a margin-top applied inline. :

The margin changes with the screen size. But I can’t seem to find where that inline style is set.

I checked header.php as well as template-home.php

Can you point me in the right direction?

Default-user

looks like its this line in general.js:

margin_top = jQuery( ’#featured .slide:not(.clone)’ ).eq(slide).outerHeight()

NiceThemes_com

Hi there,

Yes, the wrapper top margin for the home page is set with javascript. That is what creates the nice effect when scrolling. You should check the code on the file /includes/js/general.js

Best, Juan

Default-user

Yep worked. Unfortunately my client wanted the effect out. Oh well.

Hi,

I’m using this theme for quit a while and I’m very satisfied. The only thing that keeps bothering me is the Mobile version. When I open the mobile version the header with logo shows a blue color. I thing this color belongs to the original version. I changed every color option. But this one still shows in blue. Is there an option to change this?

Thanks, Rowena

NiceThemes_com

We’ve updated the theme several times in the past few months and that issue has been resolved.

Hi Again,

I am having some trouble getting a few of the widget titles to translate using WPML. Most of them work using the string translation but “schedule an appointment”, social widget title, twitter latest tweets title.

All of them appear in the string translation page in the admin. I tried deleting them and readding them etc. But the language always stays the same on the front end.

I asked on the WPML forums for some help and they told me this;

2. If you are using custom widgets which are coded correctly and use apply_filters on widget_title and widget_text then again you should be able to translate both the title and content under the “WPML -> String Translation” screen.

Note: If you are coding your own widgets see: Texts in widgets needs to go through ‘apply_filters’: http://wpml.org/documentation/support/troubleshooting-string-localization/ 3. Sometimes the above options are not enough. In this case you may want to look into using Widget Logic see: http://wpml.org/2011/03/howto-display-different-widgets-per-language/

Is there anything you can tell me on how to fix this issue with WPML?

Thanks for your help again!
