Common WordPress Installation Issues

Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to change the height of the homepage slider?

For the example, I’ll assume, that you want to change the height to 400px. Just use your own value and it will work just as well.

1) Paste this into the CSS box at theme admin panel.

.main-slider { height: 416px; } .main-slider .item { height: 400px; } .main-slider .item img { height: 400px; }

2) Now you have to resize the image that creates the shading for slider items. It’s called main-slider-bg-1.png and is located in theme/assets/images/main-slider-bg-1.png It’s height in the example case would be 400px;

3) Optional but recommend. Go to theme/settings.php and find this: ‘slider_image’ => array( 1920, 500, true ), Replace the 500 with 400;

4) Optional If you also wish to change the sizes for responsive modes, that can be done by using the same steps from 1), but wrapping them into media queries for tablets like this: @media only screen and (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 959px) { .main-slider { height: 416px; } .main-slider .item { height: 400px; } .main-slider .item img { height: 400px; } }

and this for mobile, like this:

@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { .main-slider { height: 416px; } .main-slider .item { height: 400px; } .main-slider .item img { height: 400px; } }

Of course, you would use different values for tablet and mobile. That will also require you to resize images main-slider-bg-2.png and main-slider-bg-3.png
