Hi Elimis -
Thanks very much for your theme with comprehensive and clear documentation.
Is it possible to have a unique url for each portfolio post that takes users to a page with that post in the embed portfolio section?
My url is http://www.swantjewenz.com.
At the moment, my portfolio posts have unique urls like swantjewenz.com/portfolio/chicane (for example). This url of course loads the portfolio page, which has a set item presented in the embedprortfolio section (which can be set from the theme settings).
Is it possible to make the embedportfolio div’s content dependent on the url or perhaps another identifier, so swantjewenz.com#block_405 as a url pulled in the relevant portfolio post.
Please let me know if this is unclear.
Kind regards
Nique
Hi,
Unfortunately it is not possible to assign unique URLs to the portfolio items.
Hello!
Hey I am wondering why:
When the page loads, it cycles through a bunch of portfolio images really quickly, before loading the Welcome “Home” screen. Why is this and how do I eliminate it?
what I am referring to: http://delli-colli.com/wordpress/Thank you, Dan
Hi,
We can’t access your website. Can you please check it?
Yes GoDaddy seems to have chosen an untimely moment to do domain transfer. I apologize, and will post back as soon as the site is available again. Thanks for your reply.
When the site loads, it loads a bunch of random portfolio images before loading main image. Same with if you are browsing the site (say you are on BLOG ) and then you click Portfolio, it cycles through a whole bunch of work before loading what I want. It is weird like that.
Help!
Thanks.
Hi,
We are not sure if we understand the issue exactly. But if you are referring to seeing a different image instead of the welcome image when you go to portfolio page after the blog page, then adding the following CSS rule in the “Custom CSS ” field of theme options panel, should work. We had implemented this fix in version 1.3.2.
.e-showcase-block { display: none; }That is it. Thank you again and again.
Hi,
Glad to hear the issue is solved. By the way your customization looks very nice. Your works are great
Thanks Elemis. Thank you for making my work look good. You go above and beyond with your customer service and I appreciate it immensely.
Thank you for your kind feedback. Hope you enjoy using Peano
Hi Elemis,
thanks for this great theme! I was wondering if the height of the portfolios images (not the thumbs) could vary according to the height of the pic stuffed in.
The height of a pix seems to be blocked around 380px. I could change this in the css but it would adapt to the height of the pic (I mean, not all pics in the portfolio will have the same height!)
Is there a way to change this (considering that I have absolutely NO skills in php – that’s the point) ?
Hi,
The slider in the portfolio doesn’t have a dynamic height functionality so you will need to use images with the same width and height values.
Elemis,
I’m working on deploying this theme and was curious where I can find the images you use in your demo. They are clean, crisp, and “cute” and I’m wondering if there are more!
Hi,
You can find the images used in the demo on this website: http://simpledesktops.com/
Awesome…thanks so much!
are there any chances to make the blog to show full post instead of summary only?
Hi,
If you can send us an email through the contact form on our profile page we can send you the instructions. We could share it here as well but some codes appear broken so it will be healthier if we share with email.
Hi! Been using this theme for my blog/portfolio, I love it. This is the first time I’ve paid for any theme
I have a problem with my portfolio page though, it was working fine a few days ago then it just stopped working properly: http://www.wedgienet.net/portfolio/ When you first load it, all the thumbnails across all categories load properly… then when the entire page finishes loading, they then disappear. They appear again only when you click on the filters. Any idea why/how this happened? I haven’t modified the portfolio page template recently. The only things I’ve done recently were add/modify widgets to my blog sidebar and footer but I don’t see how that could affect the portfolio thumbnails.
Willing to send you guys my Wordpress login details should you need to look at the code. Thank you!
^^ sorry, never mind. I found the problem: I changed the slug of one of my blog categories which was also (somehow) the slug of my portfolio category.. and the selected portfolio category under portfolio options got unselected. Everything’s ok now. Thanks for the awesome theme
Hi,
Glad to hear you found the problem
By the way we love your works. They look so cute!
Is there a way to get the slider from the portfolio activated in the blog?
Hi,
You can use the slider using small slider shortcode (http://themes.iki-bir.com/peano/sliders/). However if you are referring to the showcase in the portfolio it is not possible to implement in blog.
Where do I need to put the shortcode?
You can implement it into the post. Here’s an example: http://themes.iki-bir.com/peano/2011/04/10/aliquam-at-leo-non-nisi/
Hi Elemis!
Changing the Styling options is great, but is there a way to use transparency for the droplist menus ?
for eg. by changing the css with “background-color: rgba(93, 126, 37, 0.8);”?
If it’s possible, could you tell me where/how exactly?
Hi,
You can enter any additional css rule in “Custom CSS ” field in the options panel under the “Styling Options” tab.
Hi,
I love the theme but I was wondering if you could help me with a problem? I’m trying to set up a child theme using peano as the parent. When I activate the child, I get a blank white screen and the following message:
Warning: require_once(/blah/wordpress/wp-content/themes/peanochild/functions/peano-functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /blah/wordpress/wp-content/themes/peano/functions.php on line 32 Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/blah/Sites/wordpress/wp-content/themes/peanochild/functions/peano-functions.php' (include_path='.:') in /blah/Sites/wordpress/wp-content/themes/peano/functions.php on line 32Any ideas?

Hi,
If you can give us permission to your wordpress admin, we can take a closer look. You can send the credentials to us via the contact form on our profile page.
Hi,
Thanks for getting back.
Unfortunately the site is local only on my laptop.
I did find that if I copied the admin and functions folder from your peano directory to my new peaonchild directory the errors went away (peanochild is my child theme that I’m trying to set up based on your peano theme).
However everything went a bit funky in the theme options – everything was listed in one big list, there were no background images and all the custom css had disappeared.
L
Hi,
If you can send us an email via the contact form on our profile page we will send you a functions.php file that should fix the issue.
Hi,
Email sent. Thanks.
L
Hi,
Brilliant! All working now. Thank you very much!
L
Great. You’re welcome
Hi,
Sorry, it’s me again. I have another problem now. The drop down menus have stopped working when I turn on my child theme.
So if I have your theme everything works fine. When I load your theme through my child theme that’s when the problem occurs. This is the contents of (child) css file :
/* Theme Name: peanochild Template: peano */ @import url("../peano/style.css"); img.alignleft { float: left; margin: 0 15px 15px 0; } img.alignright { float: right; margin: 0 0px 15px 15px; } body { background: none; background-color: #000; }When I turn on debug in the wp-config I get these two messages …
Notice: Undefined variable: blog_bg in /blah/blah/Sites/wordpress/wp-content/themes/peano/admin/admin-functions.php on line 143 Notice: Undefined index: body_font in /blah/blah/Sites/wordpress/wp-content/themes/peano/admin/admin-functions.php on line 274and …

Thanks

Hi,
Have you selected the menu you created as “The Main Menu” in Appearance – Menus”? http://cl.ly/2v1o2m0Z0P1G073U1Y3h The reason for the menu not to work might be related to script conflict related to plugins too. Have you installed any plugins lately? Can you try deactivating them one by one?
Hi,
I’ve deactivated all plugins. Should I uninstall them as well?
I forgot to select the menu in the panochild theme! My bad. The menus are now working on the main site – thank you.
However, I still get those error messages. And when I go theme options, they’re listed in one big page now instead of having separate pages for “General Settings”, “styling Options”, “Portfolio Options” etc. The body background images are just buttons and not thumbnails.
Lastly, I put
body { background: none; background-color: #000; }into the style.css of peanochild thinking that would override the peano css but this isn’t working. Have I misunderstood how child themes work?
Thank you for help – I appreciate the time and energy you’re putting into this.
L
Hi,
The menu was probably not working because of not selecting the menu in “Appearance – Menus”. You can activate your plugins again.
You don’t need to use child theme for such little style customizations. You can change the background from theme options panel or “Appearance – Backgrounds”. We cannot be sure what is the reason of the issues without seeing the wordpress admin. If you won’t use the child theme for bigger customizations we recommend using the “Custom CSS ” field for your changes.
Hi,
Unfortunately I do need to do some bigger customizations. I need to add a membership plugin to the site and then style all of its login pages, product pages etc to match the peono theme.
My understanding was that if I added it all to a child theme then these customizations would not be hosed every time the plugin was updated which is why I would like to get it working.
If it helps I could upload it to a dummy site?
L
Yes that would be great so we can have a chance to take a closer look. You can send the credentials to us via email.
Hi,
Site uploaded and email sent. Thanks.

Hello Elemis,
What’s the shortcode for a “_blank” link on a button ?
Hi,
Can you please try this shortcode:
