help! how do i import the demo content//demo theme into the wordpress site? i have some coding experience, just new to wordpress, not sure how everything works around here yet!
Hi,
first, you need to go to ‘Tools>Import’, and click on ‘WordPress link. If needed, install the plugin, after which you can upload a file called ‘demo_content.xml’ (found inside the archive you downloaded).
Secondly, go to ‘Apperance>Menus’ and chose ‘Navigation’ from ‘Primary Navigation’ dropdown.
And lastly, go to ‘Settings>Reading’, and set ‘Homepage’ to be your ‘Front page’ and ‘Blog’ to be your ‘Posts page’.
That’s it. Also, don’t forget to check the documentation if in doubt.
Cheers.
yeah i found these instructions on themeforest—but there’s no demo_theme.xml file in the zipped file. or any sort of ‘documentation’ folder either. is there a way i could get these?
Check your download page at TF again: I think there should be an option of two different downloads – one is the zip file containing only the theme, and the other is an entire package that contains a theme, documentation, PSD files and the demo content. You need to download that second file.
oh, duh! thank you!
Hi, Dabaman. How do I change the display of the sub title in portofolio to be declining position down in [one_fourth] position?
Please help me, thank before.
Hi,
I’m not sure that I understand what you mean, can you be more specific please?
I ’ m sorry if my english less well I want to portofolio filter part (animal, bird, etc) that originally in the middle are being on the left side.
Sorry not portofolio filter part but category in portofolio
Filters are categories for portfolio items. Anyway, If I understood you well, you want to have four columns, with filters in the first column? You can’t have that unfortunately, that would require to rewrite the entire layout for portfolio part.
Thank you very much.
Sorry, to ask again, whether the portfolio can be displayed in multiple menus with different filters?
for example: on gallery 1 > filter Animal, Bird gallery 2 > filter tree
thank you
I’m afraid not, but I will see if I can add this feature in my next update.
Where can i toggle between separate pages and one-page scrolling? I can’t get my page to scroll….
Hi,
there is no toggle between this two. First you need to create a new empty page, and set it’s template to be ‘Homepage’. Inside ‘Settings>Reading’ you need to set that page to be your ‘Front page’. After that, you can use ‘Homepage>Add new section’ part of your dashboard to add content to one-pager. Make sure you check the documentation, everything is described there.
Cheers.
Hi
i have a pb with the order of my sections on my homepage
i created 4 sections : home / portfolio / CV / contact
then i created a menu with these 4 sections.
I put the menu in this order (on the right panel) : home / portfolio / CV / contact
i thought i would have my sections in the same order but my home section si at the bottom of my page. this section should be at the top and not at the bottom.
can you help me?
ty
ced
Hi,
when viewing your site, sections on homepage are arranged in ascending order, which means that the newest section will be displayed at the bottom (normaly, first you create home section and the contact goes last). However, in your dashboard, WP displays posts in descending order (newest posts are always on the top). So, don’t let this confuses you.
But it doesn’t matter in which order you created them, just go to ‘Plugins > Add new’ and install Post Types Order plugin – it will allow you to easily reorder your sections.
Cheers.
ty, i canceled all my sections and created new one in the right order. everything was ok after. but thanks for the plugin. it will be usefull Cheers
Hi again!
Just wondering
- I want to use this as separate, static pages -is there some plugin I can use to be able to put a dropdown menu on one of the pages in the navigation? Thanks!
Hi,
not sure, I’m not familiar with any. I’ll give it a go to implement a dropdown support in my next update.
okay thank you!
