Here’s another example when I enabled the feature image > Thumbs instead of full size image
And here’s an example of some tiny thumbs that get created when you place images in the left sidebar > Left sidebar tiny thumbnails
Hi Rowan,
That’s just really weird! I’m very curious as to what’s going on here
Could you give the url to your website (via email if you want) so I can take a detailed look at it?
Cheers!
Hi @redfactory, I’ve sent you an email with some details for the site. Hopefully it’s not too hard to work out what is happening
This Theme is great! I just don’t understand how to use the Imagewall widget. Can you please explain?
Hi,
The image wall uses the Featured Image of posts in a certain category to populate it. You can select how many columns (vertical rows) the imagewall widget should use, and how high each image should be. Next select how many images (or posts) should be there. For example, if you have 3 columns (like in the demo) and want it to be 2 rows high, then select 6 posts as a maximum.
I hope I’ve made it a bit clearer for you
Cheers!
Hi,
I’m having a bear of a time getting the front page to work.
No matter what I seem to do, the “front page content” widgets don’t seem to work.
The fonts for my sidebar also seem very small.
Not sure what’s going on – I really haven’t made any modifications.
Ideas?
twofriendlynerds.com
@enemyindustries you need to create two menu’s, one for the footer of the page and one for the sidebar
Hi,
Thanks for helping out a fellow buyer
Cheers!
Hi @redfactory you have a couple of support requests outstanding, will you be providing any assistance?
Hi!
Yes we will be providing assistance
I’ve been quite busy the last few days, but I’m catching up to the pending support questions as we speak.
I’ll be looking into the image issue you have and let you know what I find.
Cheers!
@mR_r0b0t0 thanks for the heads up, I’ll try that.
edit It worked! Menus now look like the example. This probably should have been in the documentation (unless I missed it somewhere).
Still need to figure out why none of the “prontpage” widgets are showing up…
To those struggling with similar issues, I fixed my own problem.
In order for the “front page” widgets to be applied, there needs to be nothing selected in the “static page” options under the “Reading” preferences. Put the “static page” to the “
-select-” option. Then things will display.A note about this in the documentation would be great.
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback on that. We are so used to do it this way in our themes that we sometimes forget that this is not always as clear as it should be
We’ll make sure to include it in our documentation.
If you have any other questions, please let me know!
Cheers!
@redfactory further to my previous notes on this issue, I have noticed this issue with very small image thumbs appearing only occurs when you either 3 or 4 images in a post.
Posts with single images or more than 4 display correctly.
Any progress on this issue yet? Sadly your support has been rather lacking so far
Is it possible to make the whole area of the squares on the home page – clickable? Thanks!
Hello! I just bought this theme a few days ago and it is really great. It is exactly what I wanted for my portfolio site. I am new at this, and everything seems to be going well so far, but I am stuck on how you do the sub-links on the sidebar. I know it may be obvious or a dumb question, but like I said, I am new at this. Thanks for the theme and for your time!
Hi,
On the menus page you can drag and drop menu items to the right, so that they ‘stick’ to the item above it, but with a little indent. Hope this makes any sence
Hope this helps!
I am getting error mssg on all the homepage widgets. “Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in …..”
tried emailing you but haven’t heard anything. I included a link in my email.
I really do appreciate any help you can offer.
Hi,
If you fill in a category for the widget the error will disappear
The posts from those categories will be displayed inside the widget.
And sorry for taking so long to get back to you!
Hope this helps!
Great theme, client is loving it so far.
I need to add a tileable image to the right half of the theme, how would I do that?
Right now I only see how to change the color code. I was thinking it might have something to do with the body_bg image within the theme but updating that hasn’t done anything.
Found the solution to the background. No need to reply to that question.
I have a new one though, how can I install my own Google Font?
Hi,
Glad you found a solution for the background image
To add your own google font, open up the font-replacement.php file in the theme folder. At the very bottom, add the following css (with your own font):
<link href="http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Kreon:regular,bold" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <style type="text/css"> #div1, #div2, #div3 { font-family: 'Kreon', arial, serif; } </style>Simply change the font link and the font-family to the one google gives you. Change ”#div1” etcetera for the elements you want to apply the font to.
Hope this helps!
Hi There, have just purchased Perpetual: Premium Portfolio WordPress Theme, not a great expert but had one question:
I’m trying to reduce the white space between the main tagline on each page and the title of the page, I can’t for the life of me find the code to adjust, can you help?
Cheers
Scott
Hi Scott,
Open up the style.css file in the theme folder and search for the following bit of code ”#header .wrapper”. Change the “padding-bottom” from 40px to lets say 20px (or less if you want). Do keep in mind this reduces the space below the logo as well.
Cheers!
why does this keeps on happening?
Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in /home/*/*.com/wp-content/themes/perpetual/widgets/rf_slider_widget.php on line 47
I added the slider but images it doesn’t show on front page So
I added custom slider to the front page widgets
Hi,
You need to place each slide in a category. You can then select that category in your slider widget. This will allow you to use multiple slider widgets with different slides
Hope this helps!
Pre-sales question:
1.) Does the theme support footer widgets?
2.) Does the theme support sidebar widgets, i.e. Under Home / Blog / About etc?
3.) Is it possible to move the navigation (Home / Blog etc) to the right of the page instead of the left?
Thanks,
-Lil
Hi Lil,
No sorry, this theme doesn’t support footer widgets. The sidebar is always in view though, so maybe you could place the widgets in there?
The theme does support sidebar widgets
For example, on our demo frontpage, “about us”, “latest tweets” and “contact us” are widgets. Also, the entire frontpage is a huge widget area as well. Making good use of them widgets!
The sidebar can be moved to the right. It can even be devined per page if you want
Hope this helps!
Hi,
How do I remove the “magnify” and link rollover? Or just the magnify?
I just want it to darken when it rolls over
Hi,
Do you mean on all images, or just the ones we have under the slider in our demo? Let me know and Ill give you some pointers to get rid of them
Cheers!
Hello ,
I just bought your theme and I have the same issue as “troydesh” : I am getting error mssg on all the homepage widgets. “Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in …..”
Could you please help me as soon as possible,
thanks
Hi,
If you fill in a category for the widget the error will disappear
The posts from those categories will be displayed inside the widget.
Hope this helps!
Hello – I would also like to remove the magnifying glass/slideshow effect on my whole site. Can you tell me how to do this? Thanks! Lisa
Hi,
To remove the hover effect and the fancybox image zoom-in effect, open up the jquery.php file in the theme settings. Go to the section labled ‘image hover animation’ and comment it out or delete it.
Next go to the bottom of the file and comment out or delete the section labled ‘fancybox magic’.
That’s it
Cheers!
Fantastic, that worked. Thank you! Is it possible to also edit or remove the link on the images on the homepage (under the slideshow)? Right now it links to the image on a separate page. If possible I would like it to link to the page that the section is about.
