if i buy this theme can i use the visual plugin also in an other theme, or is it locked in the theme files? (i want to buy the visual composer, but also would like to play around with this awesome theme :))

wpbakery

Visual Composer is integrated into the theme and isn’t available as a separate product. To use it separately, you’ll need to purchase separate license on CodeCanyon.

Hi, I recently bought this theme and I find it great.

One issue still presents itself to me : It’s about single portfolio view, and the other projects which are shown below content. It is possible to ordered thumbnails by portfolio categories, to show only the images of the same category such as “typography”.

Thank a lot man.

wpbakery

Hi,

Thanks for the comment. I believe we can’t say that this is an issue… Lets say that it’s your feature request instead :)

P.S. We’ll add this in the next update.

Hi Mixey, thanks for the great work. im a very newbie here, and i found my difficulties to make it quite astonishing as your preview. is there any manuals or videos might be better. thx

wpbakery

Hi,

Yes, please take a look at the documentation folder. It is located in the zip file you’ve downloaded from ThemeForest.

Nice theme. Do you support child themes? One question, is it possible to dynamically hide menu bad while viewing portfolio? I mean not out of the bat but is it easy to customise code that way?

wpbakery

Theme is well structured, if you familiar with WordPress and PHP , then custom modifications will be not hard for you. Yes, child themes should work just fine.

I was wondering if the grid items on the front page could refer to blog posts rather than portfolio items… i.e. the photo that appears in the grid on the main page would pulled from the blog post.

Thanks! Looks great. I look forward to purchasing soon.

wpbakery

Hi,

I’m afraid this can’t be done out of the box. Anyway, you can try duplicating page-portfolio.php template, rename it, and edit query_posts param inside, to query posts instead of portfolio items.

I have the same question as jdmjpg, but I’m pretty sure there is no simple answer…

wpbakery

It shouldn’t be very difficult, I’ve replied in previous thread. Please login to support forums for more help (if needed).

Any sneak peak into new version? :) What new features will be included?

wpbakery

We’ll add portfolio filtering (optional) and also portfolio page will have more options (control what categories to include.

And few other small fixes/changes.

Hi Mike, what is the best resolution & width x height /for viewing pictures in portfolios slideshow? please let me know

wpbakery

Images around 1200×900 work best for me

Probably a really basic question… but how do you remove the small speech bubble near the logo? :) Great theme!

wpbakery

This bubble is part of the logo image, so simply upload your own logotype in theme options. Theme will use your image instead.

I see… I guess it was the little icon for the blog as my home page was set as a blog format. Thanks for your help for such a simple question.

If you could hide the menu bar while viewing the portfolio that would be awesome. Not sure how hard it is to implement with current framework. I would see it useful especially when viewing on tablet device. But don’t get me wrong….this is one of the best themes here and strong contender for my website :) Good work

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words! With some basic css tweaks we can help you over the support forums.

Hi there,

Does the image when clicked need to be so big? We have an ecommerce store and I would love to use this for our bog but the images are pretty enormous – thanks!

wpbakery

Hi,

You can tweak css a bit to make single portfolio page fixed width. That way you’ll have full control over your images.

Actually, I guess this is resolved if the images link to posts or portfolio. I would LOVE to use this but the images will need to link to posts. Thanks!

How many images can I put in the portfolio? It would be endless if I put a lot of pictures? I want to make an exhibition of the work market, but needed him to have an end. Turned another page or something like that.

wpbakery

In the theme options page you can set how many thumbnails you want to show on 1 page. After that paginator will occur.

Hi there, great theme!

I am wondering if you are available for custom work? What I would want is to be able to use the frontpage grid for portfolio, post and page, mixed. I also would like to be able to display blocks of text instead of images. Would that be possible for you to modify?

Thanks in advance! Tom

wpbakery

Hi,

I’m not available for freelance work, but I’ve a “trusted” developer that I’m working with, who can make this changes for you.

Default-user

Hi Mixey,

Thanks for answering. That’s great news. I have posted another question, can you please look at that too? I have found the answer for question 1. I can assign anything to anything in the grid. So that’s great :)

I hope you can answer the second question about Woocommerce. As long as the content ends up in the page content of the body and I can get it to work on tablets and desktops, I am happy. I will disable the shop for iphones and the likes anyway.

Thanks again! Tom

Absolutely amazing theme!

I have a question about the backend on the portfolio function. Each portfolio entry in the demo has a Client, Date, and “View Project” link. Are these customizable? Client, Date, and “View Project” aren’t useful to me. For some projects I’d like to be able to rename them, like “Inspiration:” for example, for other projects, I don’t need the categorization at all. Is this possible?

Also, as far as the text portion of the portfolio entry goes, is this fully editable via Visual Composer? I’m currently using Visual Composer with my site and my portfolio items use your tabs function extensively.

Thanks!

wpbakery

Hi,

Thanks for complimenting!

You can open single portfolio template and change that string, but I’m afraid it can’t be changed on post-to-post basis. If project category is empty, then this block will be hidden.

Yes, Portfolio posts are taking full advantage of visual composer.

Default-user

Excellent. Will be purchasing soon.

Dear,

I really like your theme. But when I add large resolution images for the portfolio items, they become blurry when they are shown in the single portfolio view. Is there a way to make the shown resolution higher and have sharp images?

Thanks in advance, A.

wpbakery

Hi,

Try uploading smaller images. I believe this is happening because your uploaded images are too big, and browser resizes them to fit the screen.

Default-user

Thanks for the fast reply! I tried this and it worked out fine!

Thanks for the great theme!

A.

You are welcome! Please consider giving a rating to my file under the “Downloads” section in your profile.

Hi! This theme is stunning and i am considering using it to log the contents of a product archive. Is it possible to display the image from custom post / taxonomies on the grid portfolio page? Each image linking to a custom post and the content of the portfolio being dependant on a menu / filter option? Thanks for you time!

wpbakery

Hi,

Thank you for the compliments! I’m not sure what exactly you are thinking of setting up. Out of the box, you can publish portfolio post types, which are populated at the portfolio archive page. Thumbnails on the portfolio archive page are linked to portfolio single posts.

Default-user

Thanks for your quick reply! I am planning a site that acts as a catalog of old products for reference, not for sale. Each product would have an image gallery , a main image and information about the product. I presumed I would need to use custom posts and custom taxonomies to make adding the products and locating them easier. My idea was to have the grid of images you have on the Photik demo home page be the results/archive page for each search or click on a taxonomy option. Sorry if my terminology is confusing here!

wpbakery

Ok, now I got you. I believe you can achieve what you are looking for. Here’s example of Illustration category (custom taxonomy for portfolio custom post type). http://demo.wpbakery.com/photik/portfolio/category/illustration/

Hi! I am reciving the following error in the main website when I activated the theme:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /home/pcpcomau/public_html/wp-content/themes/photik/wpbakery/lib/hooks.php on line 78

How can I fix this ?

Thanks

wpbakery

Please make sure you are using latest WP version.

Default-user

I upgraded to the new WP version.

Now its giving me this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function locate_template() in /home/pcpcomau/public_html/wp-content/themes/photik/functions.php on line 12
wpbakery

I’m sorry that you difficulties. This theme is working without any problems on WordPress 3.4+, so please check once again that and try installing again.

Dear,

I got a question concerning the dates that are shown on the portfolio page. I don’t want to have the day displayed, just the month and year. I already searched inside the php function files, but I couldn’t find the get_date() function. Is there a way to change it? or should I write a special function and implement it inside the loop_single_portfolio.php page?

Thanks in advance! A.

wpbakery

Hi,

Please take a look into loop-single-portfolio.php file and alter this line

<div class="portfolio_meta portfolio_date"><span><?php _e('Date', 'wpb');?></span> <?php the_date(""); ?></div>

the_date function accept same arguments as native php function date();

Mixey,

some of your WP themes are amongst the best and cleanest designs for iPad browsing on here. They work flawlessly on the computer, but my client needs fully an iPad ready site. I’m definitely going to purchase some of your themes but before i start altering code for our preferences, is there anyway to make this theme pinch-zoomable on an iPad? This is a very important feature and i’ve noticed it works on your Architectos theme, but not on Lensman or this Photik. Is there any easy script to make this possible and if so will it work well with the layout or screw up the fixed/liquid grids, divs, etc ?

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10158738/how-does-this-website-block-pinch-to-zoom-on-ipad

Also are tags fully supported on all your themes?

many thanks, grant

wpbakery

Hi and thank you very much for the compliments,

Because of the “responsivnes” pinchink/zooming is disabled, but this is can be turned of easily. You just need to remove this from header.php

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0" />

And yes, tags are fully supported.

itheacadian

Thank you for the quick reply. That’s great to know, I’m actually doing something similar as zaferina, using this site as an archive of items. I’m purchasing your design right after this comment but wanted to ask if you can have multiple subcategories and multiple pages of one category of one portfolio. This site will have at least 3000 listings, so having items be specific and easily searchable is crucial. Within one given portfolio subcategory though would it be an infinite scroll or multiple independent pages of the same setup? Also noticed you mentioned before that in a newer update you would be making this theme have filterable results. Has that updated been made?

Sincerest thanks. Keep up the smooth design.

wpbakery

Hi,

Update is in the pipeline. Currently dev is busy on another project. But it will be updated soon, no worries.
