Did you knw that PhotoGrid do not support post/blog? This theme only use page and image set post(custom post type)

Oh.. I see fine and dandy… So I assume that all the drop downs on the Demo website are all pages? Is there away to attach the Gallery image sets to the drop the cats and subcats? I dont see on the back end within the image sets were I can at attached the set to a category… or in the menu area where i can add the set to the catergory…

the dropdown use page and image sets post, image set do not have category – to activate image sets as menu item – please go to “Appearance > Menus” , click the top right corner “Screen Options” button, you will see some options there – now enable the image sets post – close the bar and you will have a new box that contain your image sets post lists (under theme location, pages, etc)

Hi there,

My client is a photographer and he loves this theme. He wants to fill the grid with approx. 200 of his best images. However, that would mean creating 200 image sets – is there any way to create, for example, 7 different image sets but use more than one image inside those image sets as a featured image. So, for example, if I have 50 photos under the image set called “Portraits”, but all 50 of them could be used as a thumb in the grid? Alternatively, I could create the 200 image sets, but then I would obviously not want all of those image sets to show when I click on the camera icon at the base of the page. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

There seems to be some load speed problems with this theme. On initial call, there is a large delay whilst waiting for something from the webserver, its not a caching problem – I’m running server side caching on dedicated host.

For example, http://lucyshiresphotography.co.uk takes around 7 seconds to load, this is not spent from the web server delivering assets, its waiting for either a large SQL or code crawl from server.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this, Google indexing is having problems as the site is so slow to load

How much time that you want to finish your site to load? 1 second? easy – delete all your image set posts I bet your site will load not more than 1 second. Seriously, I open your link and it pretty fast for me – even facebook that spent millions $$$ to create the system need times to load – there is no code in my theme that call any SQL script, I use default WP posts loop functions.

The animation of the homepage start when window finish to load

$(window).load( function(){});

if you count (7 seconds) from your start open your link until the animation is finish, you can try change “lib/functions/functions.php” change line 10-12

Note: changing this code may bring new problem in some webkit browser – such as google chrome, safari, etc – since webkit browser cannot detect the window size before all content of window is finish to load

Thanks for the quick reply. I understand, so there is correlation between the amount of images in each of the sets and load time.

Is it more optimal to have less image sets or less images per set?
