Hi I am considering buying your template, i think it is simple and elegant but I am curious if we can embed facebook commenting and like system into photos in main portfolio or the blogs.
For photographers, facebook is a very important work to promote their work and reach new clients, that’s my criteria select the template for my wordpress website.
Thanks in advance.
By default there isn’t such kind of functionality included, but you should easily accomplish this with a plugin – there are some facebook plugins that will automatically add this functionality for you. If you need to use facebook comments functionality in the portfolio and embed it with a plugin, you would have to set the single portfolio item as a static page (not a slider or lightbox) – when you click on a gallery item to open a static page which can either contain another quick gallery or you can just insert the images directly into the content of the page.
Nice theme u’ve got there, bought it month ago but i have a question:
Is there a way to set some kind of border (width + color) on each pictures in the slider portfolio pages ?
Thx in advance

I recently purchased this theme however I didnt realise I needed hosting to run it. I currently have a blog at wordpress.com. I am ready to purchse a domain and hosting but I just wanted to ask how blog posts will work after that is set up? Do I continue to publish posts on wordpress.com and then they appear with the new theme?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Hi, I’m considering to buy this template. However, I’m aware that users/visitors would not be able to post portfolio by themselves. My project is a photo sharing site like Pinterest which allows users to post their own photos. Is that possible to do ?
By default the portfolio items are created in the admin panel and there isn’t an option to add items from the front-end. However, you may look for a plugin that can add this functionality for you – the theme uses the custom post type “portfolio”, so when you search for a plugin you should also check if it supports custom post types.

I’m in the process of creating my first website (painting portfolio and blog) and I am considering buying this theme. My only hesitation is that I might want to include an e-store on my website in the future. I am wondering if this would be possible somehow, either via an external link or…?
It depends on what exactly you want to accomplish – generally the theme is built according to the best plugin compatibility practices, so everything should be okay with using the plugin you like. Only if you want to add the e-store functionality into the gallery slider of the item, you have to make sure that the e-store plugin you choose is designed to work with dynamic content loading (such the one on the slider). But even it is not – you can just link the item with a button to its single page which is static and where you can embed this functionality.
Hi I am too, considering buying your template, but I DO really need the facebook plugin (cooment and like) in each picture (http://pexetothemes.com/demos/photolux_wp/#1669). In the static page, it wouldn’t be that elegant for my clients to navigate. So, are there any possibilities for this to happen? thx in advance!
As much as I know, the facebook comments functionality is designed for static pages only, not for dynamically loaded content (as the one on the slider), so if you want to implement them, you would have to do it in a static page. You can just implement it into the portfolio item page and insert a button in the slider linking to it (for example with title “See comments” or similar).
I really like this theme and I’m thinking about purchasing it, but there are two requirements I’d need for my website:
first is a way to show a photo’s title below it (especially interesting for the Slider Grid Gallery)
and second I’d like to add buttons to each photo which sets it on a list to “remember” it (such as a list of “my favorites”).
Is something like that possible with this theme?
I never used wordpress befor so I’m sorry if the question seems stupid
Thanks in advance!
Thanks, I’m glad you like the theme
Regarding the title – by default there isn’t a title option included to the image in the slider, but this can be accomplished with a few modifications – we have already created a tutorial about this and we can provide it to you on our support site. Regarding the “favorites” functionality – the slider doesn’t support such kind of functionality and this would require some more additional coding into the theme.
Hi, is the Lightbox able to display Websites instead of images and videos?
Yes, the lightbox supports an iframe option, it only requires to add a few parameters (width and height) to the URL of the site (we can provide instructions about this on our support site).
That would be great if you have a joomla version for this beautiful theme. Just a suggestion!
Thank you for your suggestion however at this point we don’t have plans to release Joomla themes
Hi there, I recently changed our generic logo to a new one. Once I uploaded the new logo, it added much more space below it than I would like to have. How can I change this please??
P.S. You can change the height option for the logo in the Logo section of the Photolux Options page. If this is still not helpful, please also provide a link to your site when posting on our support site.
yesterday i sent a support ticket for another matter and I’m still waiting your response.
What i need to accomplish is from here: http://themeforest.net/item/photolux-photography-portfolio-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/894193 -> to remove the first article from the layout so just the 4 boxes to appear
I can see that our support member has already posted a reply to your ticket. You can read about the regular support time on our Terms and Conditions page.
Almost ready to push the buy button
One quick question. If I decide to make all images 850px width for the Full Width Slideshow, when viewed in a big screen/browser, will the image be automatically enlarged (with the consequent decrease in quality) ?
Or can I set it up so that it will enlarge UP TO 850 only?
By default the full-width slideshow is designed to show the image to the full width of the browser without any gaps, so if your images are smaller, they will be enlarged to fill the screen size. This can be changed with a few CSS modifications, but in this case there will be gaps around the image. By the way, the images we use on the demo are smaller than 1000 pixels and they still look well on large screens.
Yhank you. Last question. Can I have the grid view on the homepage, but each thumb (or maybe just a couple) to have a direct link to a page?
Yes, you can – you can assign a different click action to each item (thumbnail) in the gallery.
thanks for the answer.
hi, thinking about purchasing this theme. does it support finger swipe on smartphones and tablets?
thanks … rad theme though.
We have included finger gestures support on the gallery slider, so you can scroll trough it with fingers on the mobile devices. If you have a mobile device, you can also test it yourself.
I’m really stuck here and have opened a ticket on our support site. But currently I’m dead in the water as far as the gallery deployment is concerned.
My main page is the gallery.
But if I visit my site without logging into Wordpress, I get a grey spinning wheel in the middle of the screen and that’s it.
If I visiti it fat I login, everything works.
All pages are public.
I need a fix for this.
From your comment below I can see that you have fixed the problem (I’m glad you did). For the future, please keep in mind that all of our items support is handled on our support site, here on the comments section we reply to pre-purchase questions only.
Fixed my own problem. If anyone has this same problem, deactivate and activate all plugins again.
Your theme is great visually. If you could answer just a few questions to see if it’ll work for me I would appreciate it. Sorry I don’t know much about wordpress functionality; I’m going to migrate but I’ve just started looking into it.
my (outdated) site for reference: www.1peluffo.com
1. I’d like the images on the home page gallery to link to sub-galleries and some of these might have child galleries too. I assume this shouldn’t be an issue.
2. The best CMS strategy I can come up with is to upload the pictures from a shoot or project into a portfolio page and then pick from the media library which photos from that portfolio to insert into the home gallery or its child galleries. I would like the portfolio pages to be password protected and they would show as titles only (without a thumbnail) on a separate “Client access” page. IOWs: Can I password protect a portfolio and still pull images from that portfolio in a separate gallery?
3. When I want an image from the media library in a gallery and still be “filterable”. Is the only filtering option to make a page for each image or can I keyword individual images?
Thanks for any help,
I’m glad you like the theme Here are my answers:
1. The theme supports unlimited number of galleries and also each item in the gallery can link to a custom page (not to a slider or lightbox), so you can accomplish this with the theme.
2. Generally you can create a password protected quick gallery with the theme – you can see an example here (use “pexeto” as password). If you want to use the same images in a password protected gallery and in a portfolio item, you can do this only if you make the item password protected and still use it in the gallery (with the same set of images). Otherwise, if you want to use different sets of images, you would have to upload them separately for the password protected gallery and the portfolio item.
3. The items in the filter are categories, so when you create the categories and assign the portfolio items to them, the filter automatically displays the categories and filters the items. If you want you can also watch this video, where you can see the process of creating a gallery with the theme.
Please How i can Change my home page (for example ) from portfolio to slide ?
