Hi there, Really digging the theme and it’s got almost everything I want. I have a couple pre sale questions. On the home page, is it always a “showcase” with multiple images and the titles underneath? Can you make it a full screen slideshow on the homepage with the menu overlaid?

Also, it looks really nice on a larger tablet, but not so great on the iphone. Any plans to get it mobile optimized in the near future? Thanks for your response. T

pexeto

Hi,

Thank you for the interest :) Here are my answers:

- you can set whatever page you like as a home page, including the full width slideshow and you can set the menu displayed by default on that page

- we are planning to include some more optimizations for mobile devices, but we can also provide some quick instructions about this on our support forum

Hi Pexeto,

Photolux is very nice & I really want to buy it.

There’s only 1 thing that I concern: I write Vietnamese, not English, so there’s some words not supported by the font in Photolux. Like words in this link: http://kpotphoto.wordpress.com/

  • Do you have any solutions for this?
  • Can I change the font to Verdana (for the content), Arial/Myriad pro (for the tittle) etc. ?

Thank you.

pexeto

Hi,

Thank you for the interest :)

Photolux provides different options for fonts – by default it uses the “PT Sans Narrow” font provided from Google Fonts – I’m not sure if this font supports Vietnamese characters, but if it doesn’t, you can either use another Google font that does, or you can turn off Google Fonts and use the default web safe fonts that should support these characters (such as Arial and Verdana). Another option would be to use a Cufon font that supports these characters – the theme supports Cufon as well.

Hi Pexeto,

Got some questions about layout and security features about your wonderful WP theme :

- How is the multi-images home page is built ? Can we choose the images, size and order ? Is it dependant on how the galleries behind are created ? Did you have any detailed documentation or video about this process ?

- Is it possible to activate some right-click security for avoiding simple drag and drop or photo saving ?

Thanks !

pexeto

Hi,

Here are my answers:

- You can set a custom order to the images and you can change the default image width – as you can see on the demo, all the images are set with the same width and the height is different depending on the original image ratio

- You can very easily accomplish this with a plugin, for example the WP-CopyProtect plugin

Hello,

great theme!

But it will be super if you’ll add a style box to add a simply twitter/facebook widget on the sidebar of the blog section to have everything on the same styling of the theme.

Hi Alessandro,

Thank you for the suggestion, I will keep it in mind for the future updates of the theme :)

I want to buy this theme but I want to know if it would be possible to have a password protected gallery? is that a wordpress plugin?

pexeto

Hi,

You can have a password protected quick gallery – you can see an example here (use “pexeto” as password).

Hello,

I have a pre-sales question or two: Is it possible to add captcha support to the contact page?

Is the main menu height predetermined or can it be varied/changed?

Do you have a screenshot of the management page for this theme to give an idea of what it looks like and such?

THanks! -Dave

pexeto

Hi Dave,

Here are my answers:

- the contact form doesn’t provide such a functionality, but there are lots of plugins that do – for example the Contact Form 7 plugin

- the section that contains the menu links only has a static height and the height of the section above it, that contains the logo, can be changed from the admin panel – there is an option to set the logo width and height

- here you can see a presentation of the Pexeto Panel that comes with all of our latest themes (the presentation is for the Dandelion theme, but the options are similar for this one as well)

Hello again!

Nice fullscreen slideshow, and thank you for demo with it! But I cannot see in the demo – 1) is it possible to play all photos without of any crop? It is important for the photographers.

2) Also is it possible to play the images without of any patterns?

3) A you explained before, it is possible to add the play button into the lightbox. Is this possible to do in admin-panel (with help of checkbox or something like that), or it needs use some plugin for this?

4) How is it possible to check the working of the marvelous pexeto slider (for portfolio) with 200-300 pcs of images (250-350 kb each)? I’m afraid, that the visitors would be obliged to wait for a long time until all images pre-loading. And I’m not sure the slider or fullscreen slideshow will show all loaded images without of any problems. I’ve already had some bad experience with the other themes with displaying of photos – can you as author of theme guarantee me the perfect working of pexeto slider and fullscreen slideshow with 200-300 pcs of images (250-350 kb each)?

Thanks in advance!

pexeto

Hi,

Here are my answers:

1) The photos may be a bit cut off from the bottom when they are not proportional to the screen, as otherwise they may look stretched. However, if you want to make them fill the window width and height precisely, this can be easily accomplished.

2) The top pattern can be very easily removed – we can provide instructions about this on our support forum

3) There isn’t an option for this in the options panel, it would require a small code change (just one line) – we can provide instructions for this as well

4) I’m not sure to which section exactly you refer when saying “pexeto slider” – regarding the gallery, as you can see on the demo you can set the images to be loaded on parts, so having lots of images on the gallery would be working fine. If you mean the slider that is opened when you click on an item – this slider is displayed when all the images are loaded. The same is for the full width slideshow – it starts playing when all the images are loaded.

fotomaster

Thank you for detail answer!

1. I see. Usually the “no crop” means – the images are fitting into screen on height. It is well for portraits or so on.

4. Yes, I meant the slider that is opened when the visitors clicks on an item, you right. So, the information you said – it is old surprise for me, unfortunately. Just try to imagine – how long time the visitors will wait, when 100 mb of images are loaded. At the same time I have the flickr galleries with more than 1000 such photos, and the visitors can look it without of any delays. Unfortunately, I’m still not find such power photo-theme for WP. All of them cannot provide well-working fullscreen slideshow for big quantity of usual photo-images.

Ok, will wait the coming updates of your nice theme. I don’t like to put many little changes into the different files of purchased theme. I would like to buy this theme with well-working things we discussed. By the way, may I choose all of the portfolio possibilities (like the show images in lightbox, the slider and the full wight slideshow) in the portfolio’s section? Hope – yes. Because it is rather inconveniently to use some additional template for slider or for full wight slideshow, for example.

Regards

pexeto

Hello again,

1) If the image is not proportional to the screen, in order not to be stretched it should be cut off either from the sides, or from the top/bottom – we have chosen the second option, as in most cases landsape images are used for full width slideshows.

4) Generally the gallery itself is designed to contain lots of images and in the same time not impact the loading time – the slider section is designed so that it can display more information about the item and some more images as well, anyway I will be keeping this in mind for the future updates of the theme.

And yes, you can have all the options in one portfolio page – you can see an example here

fotomaster

Thank you for answers!

1. It is enough two options: either “width:auto; height:100%” or “width:100%; height:auto” for both of kind of images. Just please make the choice in the admin-panel during the next update, and it will be fine.

4. So, now there is only one possibility for visitors to see all 300 images picture by picture in gallery of your theme – the lightbox, right?

You wrote: “yes, you can have all the options in one portfolio page – you can see an example here”. But I meant the portfolio section in wp admin panel, not in the site.

Regards

pexeto

Hi,

1. The idea of having a full width slideshow is to display the image in its full width, if you set the other option (“width:auto; height:100%”), it wouldn’t be a full width slideshow anymore, the image would cover only a portion of the screen. Anyway, if this is the way you prefer it – we have included an additional styles section in the admin, where you can insert this and it will remain saved trough the theme updates :)

4. With that many images, one of the best options would be to use a lightbox. Another option would be to redirect to the single item page where you can insert a Quick Gallery (the images will be displayed as thumbnails) and the user would be able to navigate trough them with lightbox as well.

Regarding the other question – I’m not sure whether I understood it correctly. If you can see the items in the mixed gallery on the front supporting different types of actions, this means that all these items are created in the admin and support these options.

fotomaster

Thank you for answers!

1. Yes, you right, but it is important deal for all photographers to publish an images in portrait orientation too. Now, as I can understand, this version of full-screen slideshow shows the portraits badly. If you upload a few portrait orientation’ images into the full-screen section for demo – it will be more graphically for potential buyers.

About of the coming update – if you need some information concerning of usability of the full-screen slideshow, I’m able to send my wishes to you (by e-mail) in order to help you to make your useful theme a little bit better for us.

Good luck!

pexeto

Hi,

Portrait images won’t look bad, they just won’t be displayed in their full height – as I mentioned above, if you would like to display a portrait image in its full height, then the slideshow won’t be a full width slideshow anymore and if you prefer it this way, it is very easy to accomplish it within the additional styles section. Anyway – I will be keeping this in mind for the fullwidth optimizations in the next update :)

fotomaster

Hey! I have already ready about of the 1.1.1. updated version of theme! Great! Can you kindly load a few images with portrait orientation into the demo?

However, I’m afraid, the information about of way of displaying of photos from photographers still is in demand.

So, concerning of the full-screen slide-show:

1. The images must be in center of screen. Always. Not left and not right positions. Because the menu is on the top.

2. The required options are below:

a) fit into any screens with no crop.

b) full-width (as it was).

c) as it is (in original size) for the maximum-possible quality.

Can the updated slide-show provide these functions? Please, say me “YES!” :)

Also in order to show many (200 up) photos it needs some algorithm for showing with minimal comfort for visitors. For example, in case of many photos in slide-show – the loader of images makes some delay for preloading of images and than starting of the slide-show with loading of remain images at the same time. Also it will be well to built-in to thumbnails strip some two floating buttons “load more” and “load all”, and some pop-up “please, wait when loading” or something likes that.

Concerning of the password protection of portfolio items – don’t forget to do it with the separately password for each of protected portfolio item.

Hi pexeto,

One more followup question: is there an advanced CSS section in the admin where we can place custom CSS to modify things we want to that aren’t covered in the admin menus? I didn’t see it in the link you listed above for the admin panel… sorry if it is a redundant request…

I was hoping to be able to use it to override the menu bar height..

Hi Dave,

Yes, there is an “Additional CSS ” section included in the options panel which remains saved trough the updates of the theme :)

Yes, you can – you can see an example here – click on the third item that is called “YouTube Video In LightBox”.

Hi,

I just purchased the template (and a wonderful template it is!). I’m trying to set up the grid gallery, but am a bit confused. I am following the directions in the them documentation, but I’m still having trouble getting images setup to look like they do in the demo..specifically creating the portfolio/gallery items. The item category and item title don’t appear as they do in the demo. Also uploading the images seem to be a bit confusing. I might just be missing something.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

I’d like to build an online photo image store based on your theme. Any recommendations with ecommenrce solution? Do you know any existing stores built on your theme? Thank you.

pexeto

Hi,

I haven’t worked with any e-commerce plugins so far and no one provided any feedback about such plugins used in the theme, so I can’t really recommend one – I’m sorry.
Generally the theme is built according to the best plugin compatibility practices so everything should be fine with using the plugins you choose.

Hi,

I have a little question about this nice theme. Can I make my web site multilingual and how ?

Thank you.

pexeto

Hi,

Yes, you can create a multilingual site with the theme. Regarding the content that you will have and in order to provide a language switcher, you would have to use a multilingual plugin (as with all the other themes). Regarding the built in the theme words – the theme provides a Translation section where you can set all the theme words for the main language and for all the additional languages, we have included a .po file that you can use to set the translations for these languages – we have included instructions about this in the documentation that comes with the theme.

Hey – I have been looking at the full screen slider and I have a question: As a photog I really don’t want the aspect ratio of my pictures changed in the full screen slider. Your slider appear to cause stretching in cases where the window is tall.. I would much rather you keep the aspect ratio close to the original image and then zoom and crop out the areas that won’t fit (this is how many of the other full screen sliders that I have seen work).

Would it be possible for you to make this an option? Many people now have very high rez monitors and will have browser windows that are sized long and tall and this causes too much stretching distortion for my tastes. Could you do this and make it an option for the slider?

Thanks!

Hi, I like this theme. I have a feature request.

I need a tool tip for my site (where you hover your mouse over some text and a box pops up with more content inside). If your theme has this feature I’ll buy it.

Hi,

Thanks, I’m glad you like the theme :)

This can be very easily accomplished with a plugin, such as the WordPress Tooltip plugin

Hello pexeto,

Photolux is a really great theme indeed. I would like to ask a pre-sale question.

Currently at home page (Slider grid gallery), when we are clicking one of the photo, instead of we are carried to permanlink page, preview page is showing with Ajax loading ?

What I want to ask is, instead of opening with Ajax, can the click to be carried to permalink page ?

Thank you.

With Regards,

pexeto

Hi,

I’m glad you like the theme :)

Yes, there is an option to open a permalink page – you can see an example here – click on the “Link To The Item Page” item.

Default-user

Dear Pexeto,

Thank you for your quick response. I’m really appreciate it.

That’s great to know that there’s option to link to the item page.

One more question, instead of that link to the item page design, can we have the same design as slider grid gallery preview ?

Thank you.

pexeto

Hello again,

I’m not sure whether I understood this question correctly – you have the option to click on an item and open the slider after you click (all the items are set like this on the home page on the demo) – if you need the preview slider, you can choose this option, if you need another page with some custom data inserted – you can choose the option to open the item content page.

Dear Pexeto

Fantastic theme, great job! 5/5

One quick question before I buy: I have noticed something on fulscreen slideshow. When browser is not full screen, the images stretches very badly. I don’t want my images to stretch. Can you please have a look at this problem and add special option to on/off this stretch feature? It’s very important. Please… :)

pexeto

Hi,

Thanks, I’m glad you like the theme :)

This happens only when the window is taller than wider (which is not a very common case) – as I mentioned in my comment above, we will include some optimizations for tall screens in the next update – I have already started working on the update so I hope it will be available soon.

flash_design

Thank you for a quick reply. I just bought your template and I’m very happy. I hope to see many amazing updates for this template in the future. Thank you for your hard work Pexeto! :)

It is me again :)

Not a big deal but I just noticed something. There is an empty space between the footer bar and the bottom part of the web browser window. In other words, footer does not stick to the bottom of my browser window. This usually happens when you resize the browser window. Tested: Safari and Chrome on Mac. Is it normal behaviour?

And one more thing: I love your update, thank you very much! Disable right click feature is great for photographers. However, did you noticed that you can still download any picture by drag & drop from your web browser into your desktop on Mac?

Also I noticed that pictures on fullscreen slideshow still stretches quite badly, especially on iPhone devices. Lot’s of people using iPhones today so it’s very important to make sure that pictures looks good on every web browser. Please don’t get me wrong, you are my Master! I just try to help.

Many thanks for your last update! The best photography template ever! :)
