Hmm. Submitted a ticket through the support page, but haven;t had a response. So here’s my issue:

I’m using the flex slider (default gallery). At some window proportions, the bottom of the images is trimmed off–up to about half an inch. You can see what I mean at http://www.orderchaosart.com/gallery/faded-cozumel/

As you drag one edge of the browser window or the other, you can see the watermark at the bottom of the images coming and going.

Aplogies for the destructed state of the website–I had it hidden behind a maintenance plug while I changed themes, but I disabled it so you could see what I’m talking about.

Thanks, Janet

Hi Janet,

I just looked through the support site. I see the ticket submitted. There are still quite a few tickets before yours and I wasn’t around the office for most of the day yesterday.

I will get to you as soon as possible with a fix. I’m not ignoring you ;(

Thank you for letting me know of the issue! AJ

No worries, and thanks for solving all my issues!

WPExplorer

Sure thing!

Hi AJ!

First of all, thanks a lot for an awesome theme! All is honkey-dory except for one thing. I’m having the same problem as ‘TheRooster’ with the scroller. Among other things, I’m using it for panoramas and everything looks great in Firefox but in Safari there’s a second row of photos displayed, half hidden, underneath. When in full screen it stays, when not, it goes away when hovering over a picture. You said it could be a plugin messing up the js and I’ve disabled all plugs but the Gallery Metabox but I’m concerned I might loose my entire gallery setup if I’d disable that one.

Thanks for the help!

Regards,

David

Just read and implemented your solution from wpthemehelp and all is tiptop now, thanks again for the swift response!

Great!

Hi, i have a question. how can i use a masonry gallery as Homepage? i’ve read the documentation, but it doesn’t work…

please help me!

WPExplorer

Please have a look at how the galleries work. You must upload your images fresh so that the theme can loop through your attachments. The theme isn’t setup to change the output of the default WP gallery shortcode.

Use the “add media” button under the post title and upload the images you want to show.

it works. thanks a lot!

Good ;)

Pre-purchase Questions:

I’m currently dealing with a template that turned out NOT to be able to do anything that I need to be able to do, so please forgive me for asking a lot of questions. I want to be sure before I purchase another one that the template will work for what I want to do. :)

1. Will I be able to utilize Wordpress’s “Password Protect” page option? If I password protect a page, after putting the password in to unlock the page, will it then continue directly to that page, or will it shoot me back to the homepage?

2. Will I be able to add external links to the navigation?

3. When using the Scroller gallery, can the auto scroll be turned on and off?

4. Can the logo displayed above the navigation in the demo site be changed easily?

5. Can the fonts be changed within the theme? Does it use Google fonts or are there only a small handful of fonts to choose from?

6. If I know JACK SQUAT about coding….......... how difficult will it be for me to use this template? Previous templates I have used have not required me to do any coding what so ever, however the one I’m currently having issues with, does… and I want to make sure that doesn’t happen again, haha!

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions!

WPExplorer

1. On pages yes, but I have not added this support for the galleries.

2. Of course, the theme uses the WP menu dashboard.

3. Yes and no. It can but you need to edit your code, it would be way to complex to add an option for this since it’s built-into the js plugin. See the FAQs.

4. There is an option in the theme panel for this.

5. I don’t add font options to my themes for a few reasons:

a. It adds a lot of bloat and slows down the theme because the fonts need to be echoed in the source code.

b. Different fonts require different sizing and weights to look best. Changing fonts is best done via CSS.

6. You don’t have to know any coding to use the theme. See the theme description for the video guide. Of course if you want to change things like the fonts as mentioned above you will need to. You should be able to hire a developer to do this pretty cheap though.

I understand your frustrations.

Thank you so much for your SUPER FAST response!! :)

That sounds great! The font and the auto scroller isn’t a deal breaker for me, I just wanted to know ahead of time.

And I’m really glad to hear you use the WP menu dashboard… because the most recent theme I got does not…...... ::raises eyebrow::

I really love the look and feel of your template!

Thanks again for your help! :)

WPExplorer

Sure thing.

The theme you must have purchased was likely fairly old.

I’ve enabled the menu dashboard on this one, but didn’t specify and actual area, so this way you can use the custom menu widget and place your menu where you wish ;)

Glad you like the look of my theme and hope it fits your needs!

Hi There I was wondering if there is a way to change the order of pictures in the gallery…is it just a case of uploading each image separately through Wordpress’ Media Uploader or is there an easier way to do it? Also is there a way to define how the masonry gallery defines block dimensions?

Thanks!

WPExplorer

Do you mean the pictures on the single gallery post? Or like on the homepage?

For the single galleries, just click the “add media” button under the post title in the editor. Then from the drop-down select “uploaded to this post”. Then you can click and drag the images around.

Cool thanks for the ordering tip! Im trying to figure out the dimensions on the gallery posts, so if i create a gallery and choose masonry as the gallery type, it grids it – im just wondering if theres a way to change the dimensions of landscape pictures as they come out pretty small like thumbnails

WPExplorer

The default image sizes are controlled via a function in functions/img_defaults.php – should be pretty easy to understand how they work. You’ll probably have to edit your CSS as well if you are planing on widening the masonry columns.

Future update for password protected galleries please. Some of my subjects are kinda shy!

WPExplorer

I’ll put it on the list of things to do and hopefully we can get to it. It’s a little tricky.

I’m not sure what you mean by 5 domain names on 1 site….

I deleted the lines that you specify.when the smartphone is in portait mode I see the menu but no the galleries, in landescape mode i see the galleries but I see half of the menu and is not scrollable. thanks

you can see here www.vincenzogiglio.com

WPExplorer

The theme uses some complex scripts and CSS for the layout which is why the theme had the mobile optimization.

WPExplorer

Oh also you probably wanted to remove line 24 in header.php as well – FYI.

Hello! This beautiful theme will not install. My console says: Extract Files … Installing the theme … Archive could not be established. In the subject is not the style sheet style.css. Setting a theme failed. How do I solve the problem? Thank you.

WPExplorer

You need to extract the purchased zip and upload only the theme which is located in the “Upload” folder.

Hey there, I’ve completed a site for a client, and now I need to do some CSS tweaking for mobile devices.. I have an accordion in which the text is cut off about 5px on either side. It looks great on a desktop, but I cant seem to get it looking right for mobile platforms.

Is there a way to add 5px of padding only when the detected platform is a mobile device?

Thanks!

WPExplorer

You can use media queries. See how it’s done in css/mobile.css.

Hi,

Looking at purchasing this theme and just have one question before doing so… On the homepage gallery as per the demo, is there a way to have the images NOT move automatically (i.e. the visitor must click to view the next in line)?

Thanks, Alex

WPExplorer

See the FAQ for this theme.

Hi, nice theme. Can I create a home page without sidebar? full-width. Only displays content.

WPExplorer

Yes. You can either set the “content-left” div to display none via CSS or you can wrap it in a conditional – http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags#The_Main_Page

Another issue.

Can I make some galleries are not displayed on the bottom depending on the gallery that is?

Thanks

WPExplorer

This isn’t really an “issue” but a customization. By default the galleries tab shows all your galleries. If you want to exclude some you’ll have to edit the get_posts() function in single-galleries.php line 89

Hi there !

1stly, Wonderful theme. Loving getting to know it and play with it.

2ndly, I opened up the demo-website on my iPad and it worked 100%. When I opened up the site I am currently developing for a client, its doesn’t load ( on the iPhone ) and on my iPad, when I open a Gallery, it says “Error 404 – Page Not Found” , but it opens fine on my computer.

I saw you mention something about removing lines of code ?

“viculiano PURCHASED 4 days ago Flag Hi, I ??would like the theme is not responsive, desktop viewing on smartphones and tablets. as part of mobile_detect.php I need to change? sorry for my poor english

WPExplorer AUTHOR 4 days ago Flag Open scripts.php and remove lines 31-33, 77-85, 95, 113-117,125 “

Is that what you are referring to ?

WPExplorer

No,

That person wanted to remove the mobile version completely.

Try re-saving your permalinks in your WP dashboard, then clear your mobile device’s cache.

Hi! Nice theme… am looking at purchasing and customizing for a client, need to know if it’s possible to eliminate the sidebar completely and have a top nav/menu, or possibly move sidebar to top of page and orient horizontally? Rather important in the decision-making process, any input is helpful. Thanks!

WPExplorer

Of course it’s possible, but if you are asking whether there is some sort of magical button that totally changes how the theme functions…then no. If I had such option built-in I would likely post this info in the description as it would have taken me a long time to create such functionality ;)

You’ll have to customize the theme to provide your client with this sort of layout.

I’m wondering if there is some equivalent of ‘mobile.css’ somewhere in your theme.. I need to edit the stylesheet for mobile devices without affecting the default stylesheet. Thanks

WPExplorer

Yes. It’s at css/mobile.css ;)

Hey, I’m planning on submitting a ticket on the support page, I just wanted to make sure before I do: is our “marketplace username” the same as our username here on themeforest?

WPExplorer

Yes it is ;)

Hey is there any way I can make the sidebar scroll up and down? When I add widgets I either can’t see them or they’re all jumbled up

Hello,

I just purchased your theme and when I tried to upload it to Wordpress it said that instalation had failed because the styles.css file was missing. Any ideas on why this could be happening?

WPExplorer

You need to first extract the purchased zipped file. Then upload only the theme to WordPress. You’ll find a non-zipped version and zipped version inside the “Upload” folder in case you want to use FTP or WP to install it.
